I think I can say without breaking NDA that it will be nothing like EQ2.

Folks, EQN will be at SOE Live, but not at E3 in any official capacity. Hence: it's not on this list. Trust me, it would be otherwise.

Scaling content comes to raiding, eh? Now that's something that I can say "about time" with, Blizzard. Well done.

Now, see...that's interesting. I also just noticed they call it "Endurance" not durability in the Soul Attunement vendor. This kind of stuff is exactly why DP needs more of a tutorial, or at least more of those annoying popups. |

[General Article] Dragon's Prophet: Review in Progress #1
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 6/06/13 1:53:06 PM
From what I can tell in-game, it seems that repairing without using an SC Hammer will reduce the overall durability of an item. Say you had 60/80 durability. You go to repair it in the game, and the repair process fixes the item, but drops durability to 79/79. Now imagine you're at endgame, and have all your favorite items. The more you repair your gear, the lower that overall durability score will drop, until it's nearly nothing. UNLESS you use the SC hammers. However, I'd imagine that by then you can easily do some daily quests to keep gear up without dropping your durability. |

As others have said, E3 is next week and ArcheAge is the main game on display this year from Trion. I'm betting we'll have plenty to share after that.

Guild Wars 2: MMORPG.com and Mist League Join Forces
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 6/05/13 11:49:45 AM
After the success of our inaugural Invitational Tournament for Guild Wars 2, we've been looking for a way to increase our participation in the eSports scene that's quickly building with ArenaNet's game. With that in mind, we've partnered up with the all new Mist League: the first fan-driven world-wide league for competitive PVP in Guild Wars 2. With the massive help of ArenaNet and the community of GW2, we look forward to what the future holds. What does this mean for the short term? MistLeague.com will become a part of the MMORPG.com network right alongside RTSGuru and FPSGuru, and the two of our sites will partner on content (interviews, streams, news, etc), while most all of the more specific content for GW2 related items will be hosted at MistLeague.com (guides, streams, tournaments, rankings, sPVP forums and so much more). In the long-term, our goal is to help make Mist League the premiere website for all things GW2 PVP, and more importantly: GW2 eSports. Tournaments with larger prize pools, open to anyone who can qualify, are just around the corner. We truly cannot wait to see what you think of what Mist League and MMORPG.com are putting together, and we hope you'll join us in this adventure. For now, head on over to Mist League, make an account, and get to talking shop! There will be a bevy of content on the site soon, so stay tuned for developments!

[Column] Marvel Heroes: F2P Isn't a Charity
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 6/05/13 9:00:05 AM
For some, it seems the notion of developers wanting to make any money on Free-to-Play games is a ludicrous idea. In this week's column, we discuss the fact that F2P games, while free, aren't a actually a charity.

Guild Wars 2: Dragon Bashing in Real Life with Knight Realms
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 6/03/13 7:51:00 PM
To help get the word out about the upcoming Guild Wars 2 event: Dragon Bash, ArenaNet sent us at MMORPG.com a hefty purple and green dragon pinata to well... bash. Ever the resourceful geeks, we caught up with the LARP group Knight Realms to make sure the bashing went well. And of course, we filmed it for you all to see. It's pretty epic... but maybe only because of the song. Be sure to watch the incredible display for some looks at what to expect in the upcoming Guild Wars 2 content update: Dragon Bash! |

[Review] Neverwinter: An Astral Diamond in the Rough
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/30/13 4:42:38 PM
I feel like they're not bashing the review itself, but the argument between beta and release. That, and most users there seem to think this is the woeful MMORPG.com of a few years back, not today. I think we've really come a long way in our content, and I hope you guys are starting to see the fruits of our efforts.
