I really hope we aren't forced to install and use Origin to play SWTOR. I hate the app...it's been a nuisance, especially when they consolidated the SWTOR/Origin/EA passwords without telling anyone.

The MMO crowd has grown very fickle due to the number of disappointments.

The more people know about a game, the less interest they have in playing it.

To them, there will never be another great MMO. They will wait and wait for GW2 then be disappointed when it gets released.

Smedley and SOE are well aware of the mistake they made by splitting EQ players into I and II. It's unlikely they will fracture the players for a third version.

The new MMO will be based on a different IP.

Huh?

"In hindsight, I wish we could have had a do-over and not called it EverQuest II," he said frankly. "I doubt you will see us do that again."

Just for clarification, can't you simply just un-install PMB after you install APB?  Seems like a quick look into the task manager and simply ending the PMB.exe process takes care of the problem.  Is this a viable solution?

As far as I can tell, you have to install the GamersFirst client to download any of their games. If you do not remove the GF client after installing the game, it will keep on reinstalling the Pando crapware.

I carefully read each EULA and consult with my lawyer every time.

Yeah, right. Like most people I take my chances and click on accept.

When I booted up my computer the GamersFirst client automatically reinstalled the Pando crapware, so I have now resorted to firewall blocking of the program.

In these days of bandwidth caps and over-usage charges, it's really nice of GamersFirst to include a hidden bittorrent client to use up your bandwidth. It's not like WoW which is optional and runs in the foreground.

I noticed a considerable amount of network activity from my computer and traced it to the Pando crapware. I uninstalled it but the GF client will probably attempt a reinstall later on.

I guess it's true what they say..."nothing is free".

Voted Global Agenda since it's the best overall game in the list. Unfortunately I didn't play it for long as the setting seemed a little too sterile, not very imaginative, and the graphics could have been scaled better for performance computers.

Why is a Warhammer Online picture shown here?

NCSoft = EPIC Fail

I bet they will find a way to screw up GW2.

Anyone watch the E3 demo of FFXIV? I loved it when the player character was chasing the crabs and got stuck on a pebble and had to run around it. It's soo lame of them not to allow jumping.

I wish I could return Aion and STO - about $100 wasted right there. I wouldn't buy them for even $1 each.

The coding is very well done in this game and I have not had a single crash. For what it does, the game is pretty slick. Most MMOs are half-broken at release...even WoW was a launch nightmare.

You'll have plenty of time to kill people tomorrow.

SWG Pre-CU

I love sandbox games and that was the best...ever. The hidden Jedi requirements were a great idea until everyone knew about it.

I'm not in the beta, but I have witnessed people playing the game. I will be buying this game and I hope Realtime Worlds keep building upon what they have created. This game is not perfect (eg. sloppy vehicle movement), but we haven't seen a perfect MMO for several years. GTA IV was a fun multiplayer game but this goes beyond that with superior graphics, great avatar customization and virtual ownership (cars). Now if they keep building upon the pvp missions and make them more eventful, this should be alot of fun to play. My only concern is the subscription model - does this game have enough variety to keep people paying monthly?

I joined Darkfall at the start and played for a couple of months. The grind was a horrible time-sink which encouraged people to run macros and go afk. The Devs did nothing about it for the first month which was enough time for people to AFK-grind characters to dominate over people who didn't AFK-grind. Every time a bug was found, people on the euro server would gather to a designated city and AFK-exploit it until the Devs finally patched it. As I was anti-AFK, that left a bad taste in my mouth and I decided there was no point in continuing to play.

Kill, die, respawn, rinse and repeat is far from the best PvP system that can possibly be out there. PvP without consequences plays pretty much like a single player arcade.

The problem with PvP WITH consequence is that the average person doesn't want to play that game...otherwise you'd see people flocking to Darkfall and it ain't happening.

I dunno. The thing I liked about COD MW1 and MW2 most was the storyline. MMOGs aren't typically known for their awesome storylines.

I just can't see a COD MMOG as being anywhere near as good as the original games.

Ummm....an MMO that lasts only 6 hours.....that'll work.

Well...the PC version of Modern Warfare is overloaded with hackers and IW is extremely slow to fix the game. A MMO would be another hit-and-run game for IW....collect the money and laugh at the foolish users.

After reading about these 8 vs 8 battles, it made me think of the console system inwhich one user acts as a server. Huxley is trying to do that and it's been giving their developers headaches.
