Maybe they'll hack NASA next and get plans to build a moonbase from which they can exterminate with lazer beems anyone who whined about their poisoned products and what-not.

Sounds like you've got a career path worth looking into, that is if your still in school at the moment, I personally at one point didn't like it either, in fact quited mmo's for some time during that phase. Really its just somthing you either love or hate, I grew into it out of boredom.

All I can say, which isnt good advice, is to play somthing like an online fps or somthing for awhile, come back to mmo's and see if you can get into it again..

MMO's are indeed a dieing breed

Just like other great games before it..Pac man..Tetris..ping pong..they made many more "next gen" versions of these games but does anyone still play them? I think not..

So you see through a geometric theory which I cannot think of from the top of my head..it is quite safe to say that mmo's will be the suck given 10-20 years id say ;p

Why do I not see maplestory on that list?

That is simply a marketing term to say "our shit is cool, come buy it!"

We've reached the final generation of mmo's. Its all downhill from here. Soon we'll all be throwing a baseball in the yard for entertainment again..maybe even horseshoes if friends come over.

FFXI has an amazing storyline quest line as well but I don't think you'd like the game..

Ive been waiting for a game to revive an actual death penalty in an mmo for a long time..EQ1 did it right..FFXI kind of slacked but it still worked for me personally..beyond that its like meh.

I mean whats the point of trying to actually survive a tough battle, or go deep into a difficult dungeon if theirs nothing to lose? Theirs no fear..no challenge..and the rewards arent ever taken for granted..often its exploited as a quick teleport to the nearest town or somthing. I mean in eq1, people would actually seek groups out just for the sake of a better chance of survivability, especially warriors, I didnt venture far without an ally or some travel spells on me.

Frankly I doubt this game will be reviving any challenging death penalties though so meh..

Dang..that is a pretty epic expirence right there. I can't even imagine the kind of scare you'd get from being near when that happened.

But yea..their are way to many stupid drivers out there..

I guess you could ask the same thing about pvp though, is it mostly gonna consist of solo characters running around to complete these pvp quests, grouping only if necessary? Or will it be more of a group effort to get anything done in pvp?

First off i recommend making your character a very cabale fighter in melee, rather than tons of magic. I mean magic is nice, but if you find yourself dieing alot its good to get yourself decked in some heavy armor and a shield to absorb the blows.

At the start I recommend exploring the Imperial sewers, mostly goblins, rats, and crabs down there so its a pretty good way to get into the combat system with the game going up against fairly predictable and easy targets. Some good loot to grab down there as well if you check all the nooks and crannys.

Once you've gotten the hang of it I recommend joining the fighers guild in anvil, they offer a good solid quest line that consists of mainly simple tasks like escorts, clearing, defending, etc. combat related things not to many puzzles. The arena is a good place to skill up as well against other humanoid mob types.

The dark brotherhood and theives guild are also a good start if you want to be evil or a stealth character.

Get a few levels then continue on with the main storyline into kvatch, your first real oblivion expirence. You'll need to make sure you have enough supplies for this and some good support magic. A bow is good to have as well.

I could go on but I think by then you'll be settled into the game. Hope this helps and goodluck
