So SOE STILL is the publisher, they just want to hide that fact. Personally, i dont care, if the game is good, i will play, doesnt matter who is what. As long as it isnt ultima online.......

Well, what after GU#2? Who is going to give it a shot? I will personally wait 2 weeks or so after the server merges, to see what happens.....

I was recently doing some reading, and i realize that SOE has done some tweaks to the game. I am just wondering if it  is still too early to try to play the game again....maybe i should wait for server merges?

I will be honest.. Everquest 2 was a work of shit when it came out.. The graphics made were extremely colorful and detailed but it didn't help my computer as far as performance goes and my computer is actually pretty up to date. The downfall of this game was the early-release to beat WoW before it came out and it didn't work out. The gameplay and the mechanisms of this game were all tweaked and just didn't click with me. I thought that the biggest turn off to most players, was the huge difference between EQ1 and EQ2, they are both totally different games.. But yet Everquest 2 hung tight on its last thread..

Over the years, Everquest 2 has improved dramatically. I recently came back for the Play the Fae trial and I said to myself,"Wait, did I DL the wrong game or am I really playing EQ2?" I was just so amazed by how much it had improved since launch, the classes are balanced out, the tradeskill system has been improved, the game is more fast paced and the game runs a lot smoother!! I was really impressed and I played EQ2 for some time until I got hooked onto another game I had been playing. Everquest 2 has made a tremendous comeback and that is all there is to be said.

To all those people who have never tried out EQ2, try it out I promise you will not regret it, to all those people who quit at launch, I'm not a crazy person, go try it out now! EQ2 has truly changed for the better, good job Sony.

i totally agree, i currently play this and EQ1, and both games are great. If you havent tried Eq2, go ahead and download the free trial, you wont regret it at all.

EQ is going strong, specially if you go to a more populated server like Stromm.

The good old days of EQ were amazing.....i almost didnt graduate highschool because of it, and i loved it. Well, those days are gone.....there are tons of ppl playing still, but no one is at the commonlands, or at Oasis hunting crocs ( that zone has been renamed South Ro ) no one at the orc highway, no one at the aviak penthouse in the Karanas.

Sony came out with this hot spot thing, where you get extra exp for playing in certain zones, in an atempt to bring players together, since the world is so huge, and it works. You can still find groups, and it is still a fun game. I play on Stromm, I am a mage lvl 64, and I never have trouble finding groups.

good luck!!

Well, what i gotta say is this. Companies need to start releasing expasion packs, not only with more zones and items and such, but theres gotta be something else to it. More zones and more items its like replaying the game...add some new stuff for crying out loud.

Siege, player housing, more mounts, more tradeskill stuff, more ways to individualize your character other than gear alone.

I just feel bad for fellas who spent thousands on a gaming machine for this game, and not it got pushed back 6 months. So, u could've built the same PC for cheaper, or spend the same kind of money, and get more harware for it. Poor rich kids....

Over $30 million spent, one company folded, jobs lost, not enough revenue to turn a profit.

Under new management, but still has poor subscriber performance and sales, unable to turn a profit.

Many believe this defines a business failure, but few do not.

There are tons of good games out there. U just need to get in touch with the community....thats about it. the RPG part of the MMOs are provided by the players. I would suggest u go around to some different RP servers of your game of choice, and check the communities.

Peace
