I agree with this.  When big companies have a huge budget and can afford to hold off on a release, but don't, and we get an inferior product - that pisses me off.

Also, to the OP.  You said that Vanguard sucked and no one defended it.  Naturally.  They had a large studio working on the game with financial backing.  They still managed to make a shit game, or at least one less than acceptable to most people.  SV has done alright, even though the game needs a lot of work.  Assuming it survives, it will be great in 6 months to a year.

they don't hold of on the release because they want to get it into the public for a lot of reasons, 1 of which it's a lot easier for their players as well as them working together to find things wrong weather than just the devs looking for it. Also, Vanguard never really got a lot of hype, i'm pretty sure WoW was peaking at the time it was released, so not a lot of people were worried about another MMO on the market, as more and more people get tired of WoW people start to worry about the mmo's on the market, there are a lot of mmo's coming out within this year and next that all have a lot of hype, it was not the same then.

they really couldn't make it only dx 10, cause there are a lot of people still running XP which does not support dx 10 unless they changed that with a service pack

like most games it will probably support dx 9 and 10

Yes, this game is gonna work wonders for the PvP world, but this game will bring out the non-chumps of it.. Good luck,.

Well, I'd take Asian/Anime good looking art over, cartoony looking art. but.. on topic, DDO is pretty good, and i think Allods is decent for a free game

this is how the game mechanics are, it would be sorta boring if i could solo with EASE 10 man raids at level 80..

I contend that MMO PvP has pretty much always sucked, and probably always will suck, because of the natural imbalance of a game where level, classes, and gear are so important.  The fact of the matter is that in MMOs most every fight is far more about what you had (gear) and what you where (level, class) when the fight started rather than what you do during the fight.

The devs themselves said 95% of the game will be single player content. A NPC companion will make the rest soloable for the most part as well. Seems the devs aren't consistant with their own hype machine. 

If given the option, people will rush through the game as fast as possible, the easiest way possible, and everything being soloable encourages them to do that alone. 

 

Also, I have yet to see the devs deny that all that lovely storyline will take place within instances, which makes it more akin to a single player game. 

yes while 95% of the game will be single player, this post it self shows that you can venture with a friend as well.

Even the Crappy communities have good people/players in them

No, they were players :) but we were extremely OP in pub 9, buuut, we had a risk of Perma-death.

I'd have to say back in Pub 9 SWG, killing 40+ Imperials trying to kill me on my Jedi... aww the days..

 Let's take a look at this photo of a few Tera characters in a city:

 

 

A running player with a sword on his back that's so big it's dragging the ground and that also goes about three feet over his head. Not to mention the weapons get even larger as they are held and swung for combat.

Oh, and don't forget about that cuddly bear looking NPC that has an Axe on his back thats not one, not two, but three times the height of it's character!
