They are just preferences to make the game available to a wider audience.

Also, recommended system reqs for the game has NVIDIA 6800 on it. That card was also released in 2004 (same time as Far Cry). If engine was modified, it was modified to decrease the details on screen, because honestly, Farcry looks much better than Aion in many ways.

There's nothing wrong with targeting a wider audience of course. WoW did it, and it was a success, EQ2 didn't, and you know where EQ2 is right now (of course, this isn't the only measure for EQ2's situation, but it's still a large one).

Edit: Cryengine 2 is just an unoptimized shit (yes, as in, crap). Cryengine 3 will look more or less same as Cryengine 2, but it will require much less raw power.

Now the future free expansion thing that is a good deal. Only if we are talking about real expansion and not just a new questing zone or something small like that. Kinda like wow expansion they pretty much are a new game with 10more levels and lot of content.

A lot of these guys paid to play the game, that is the sad thing. These are the same people who want in every beta to get some free time in before everyone else. Lets just hope a few decent testers got in as well and will actually report bugs.

For me personally it isn't to be "omg first!!!!oneone" and I gave it a long hard thought before pre-ordering.

The argument which pulled me over the line was this; You have to stand up for things you care for, even if there are uncertainties involved.

And heck ... I'd much rather toss some money to a new fish in the pond with great, fresh ideas, than fund the ties and suits of EA or SOE once more. If it is money well spent remains to be seen, but in theory the MO concept is the perfect mmorpg concept in my eyes ... and it won't be watered down by making compromises on all levels to appeal to a huge crowd like the big releases by established developers we have seen the past few years.

It almost feels as good as donating money to Wikipedia or the Red Cross, lolz.

They are looking at it (which in dev terms is, we have something we were working on but didn't have the time to put it in, but might later on when the more important stuff is released) it's just not something the devs view as a priority, my counter is still the same, it makes the game look unfinished, if water is not part of the game right now then don't allow people to walk under it, that's lame. :p

The simple fact that you can enter water indicates there is something planned for it, otherwise you would not be able to go so far in. What that is I don't know, it's either proper swimming as you would normally expect, or underwater flying or it'll be a simple message that you're going to drown.

That's totally assuming that the water on that planet is the same as it is on earth, hell at 6 feet down the elements of liquid may change radically...who knows?? It isn't a science or tech based game so the population may not even have a periodic table of elements in the library.

While I am far from a AION fanboi, I just like it because it has a good pvp system and think some of it's content is corny. I would want them to put in housing, maybe player cities and some other elements not currently available in a quality game. Swimming is at the bottom of a very long list of things they could do to enhance the game.

I think the majority if not all of the "i want to swim" cries actually come from WoW fanboisms. And if that's the case then go swim in WoW.

 

yes, clearly, all of us who would like swimming in the game are from wow and are wow fanboys, that's why we want swimming.  Sherlock, you have solved the case!

Mage, spiritmaster.

Powerful, yet hard to master. It takes a lot of quick thinking and timing to play it well.

There is nothing to master at least from lvl 10-16 spiritmaster there isn't thats how far I got with mine.

Is just like playing any other mmo bind your keys let your pet attack first so he take the first few hit, then you cast boom dead mob.

Hell spiritmaster got some pretty good spells so you can pretty much 1hit mobs.
