The changes make normal mob grinding useless, but now you have to quest grind. This seems like they are taking more things from LOTRO. First voice chat and now most the the xp from quests. |

The European servers are in Europe. You have to pay European rates. The people with the valid complaints are the Australians and NZers. Their servers are in the States. |

I left LOTRO about 4 months ago. I had played since the start of beta and I knew exactly what I was getting into. I liked LOTRO, but the pace of new content was too slow. I also found it hard to get groups for the book quests. I am sure that LOTRO will continue to get better, but I'm done with Turbine games. |

2007 was goinc to be the year of the MMO, guess what NOT!!!
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/26/07 12:18:11 PM
2006 was a bust, 2007 was a bust... 2008 can't be a bust with so many high quality MMOs to be released. If it is, then MMOs don't really have a good future. |

Please add an other for those people that think it is something else. People always have to have an option to be wrong. |

The increased XP for quests and reduced amount to level won't go in for a few patches. They will also add more quests in Dustwallow Marsh. I wished they would add a few quests to each quest hub. I have two level 70s, but I enjoy leveling new characters. They also have to allow new players to easily get up with other players. If you start a new character and everyone is in Northrend, you'll get bored of all the soloing before you get to the rest of the players. |

Raising the level cap was needed and a good move, but what wasn't was their new end game system. Rep grinds have become insane. I think pre BC the end game was great with a good variety and good progression. The should keep increasing the level cap, but they need to make the end game a little easier for new players to get up to speed. |

Some people hate popular things. WoW is popular and it is also popular to hate it, at least on these forums. |

Yes, WoW copied from all other MMOs before it. I had to laugh when people said that LOTRO ripped off WoW's UI, when in reality Turbine was copying from their own game (AC2) and WoW copied from AC2.

Blizzard Creating a "next gen mmo" and here is the proof
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/16/07 5:46:44 AM
Originally posted by Scriar I think WC1 was innovative, I might even consider D1 innovative. Blizzard has made ONE mmorpg, you can't label their entire history on WoW. |

How do you choose your character?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/12/07 6:47:16 AM
I usually pick the least popular/underpowered class. I enjoy being unique and not one of million clones. |

It is sad that people see cartoony orcs/goblins/dwarves and they compare anything to WoW. As long as WAR doesn't have swords that are double the body length of the wielder, it can't be compared to WoW. Very good graphics and I hope the gameplay is as good. |

The Humans are the real bad guys. They enslaved the Orcs for years in interment camps, they drove the trolls out of their homeland, and forced the High Elves (now called Blood Elves) out of the alliance. As far as the only true good guys that would be the Tauren. All the other races are just shades of gray. |

I would suggest that you play a Hunter or Mage as a new player. Both are easy to solo and learn. Casting: Mage Range: Hunter/Mage Hybrid: Druid If you want to group and have options, the Druid is a good choice.
Stay away from rolling a Priest. They really aren't that good at low levels and Shaman/Paladins/Druids are better healers. (I have both a level 70 Druid and Priest, as well as 70 Mage).

Hardcore WOW raider thinking about trying LOTR...
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 9/04/07 11:13:51 AM
LOTRO has more group content, and very little raid content. Think about the raid content of WoW at release, just MC. Raiders spent most of the time before BWL running the 10 (Scholo/Strat/LBRS) and 15 (UBRS) man dungeons (prior to the nerfs). If you want to raid 4+ days a week, then LOTRO is not for you.

I was a beta tester and started playing early Sept. I knew of the weakness of LOTRO before release, but I still talked my friends into buying it. I leveled to 37 and when I went away to Europe for 4 weeks, I canceled my account. When I came back the guild that I was in was disbanded and everyone had canceled.
LOTRO has so much potential, but it seems that any change is too slow.

Have they made the Elves too strong???

I made my mind up to play a Dark elf when I heard about WAR. Elves are supposed to be strong. |

When will PvP be brought into the game?
Game Suggestions « Lord of the Rings Online 8/30/07 5:49:50 AM
PVE based games that try to throw in PvP end up making both aspects suffer. If you want to be able to kill players,Monster play allows for that. Your level 50 player character will be able to slaughter the monsters players. It isn't a fair contest, one on one, or even one pc against 2 monster players. I think that LOTRO made the right choice, but it did limit the enjoyment factor for some players. This isn't about which side would win, it's about having an Orc rampage through the shire killing level 1 hobbits. That just doesn't fit too well, no matter how much fun it would be to the majority of players. |

I only play my current MMO because my friend plays. We've changed MMOs a few times, and will continue to change. I have to compromise the type of MMOs that I play to play with him. I find it better to have one person you can trust 100% playing. |

The game NEEDS one server with item loot in pvp
Game Suggestions « Age of Conan 8/28/07 11:39:45 AM
The only real PvP is one that allows for player looting. I hope that AOC has a server with player looting. |
