An AMD 3500+ is equivalent to a 3.5 ghz Pentium IV.  I actually have no idea where you bottleneck is.  There are a few possibilites although they don't seem as likely.  1st is your DSL connection, however if EA wants to keep costs on there servers minimal it should really require anything above a 56k.  2nd is your memory.  The AMD 3500+ was designed to utilize DDR2.  However, that also shouldn't be a problem.  3rd is something is borked with the client.  This is actually the most likely case for a beta client.

What are you talking about?  Intel's been shipping out their penryns underclocked because AMD hasn't been able to put something that can compete and Intel's putting out their next generation processor real soon that is going to have huge gains on anything either company has out right now.

The entire reason for Nahelhiem is because of AMDs performance in the non-gaming uses of processors.  When it comes to server side, AMD is winning, HTCP, SpecVIEW, and Virtualization have AMDs at the top not Intels.  AMD has been edging out on nearly all quad core optimized applications and floating point calculations.

That and with overclocked Q6600's benched against overclocked Q9300's, there is a -4%~8% difference in performance.

It depends on what your processor is sold as.  All Retail boxes for processors come with a cooler.  However, if its an OEM then it won't come with its own cooling.

3 fans probably won't be enough to cool your whole case.  Most cases now come with multiple vents.  The most important airflow is front to back.  Having a fans in the front providing intake and creates an unblocked air flow to Hard Drive, Processor, and Video card is good cooling.  Also rear fans providing outtake.

If its gaming you want to use a Intel Core 2 Duo with atleast a 1600 mhz FSB.  Something like a P45 or P43 should work well.

  If you have been following the McCain campaign as I have been, you would have known that Palin was on the short list months ago.  She was often mentioned as a possibilty along with Mitt Romney.  The choice is a very good one since it re-inforces McCain's maverick image and it strengthens his conservative base.  A part that was likely to vote Bob Barr or stay home.  Since republicans are less likely to vote simply on party lines.  She is the most conservative person on any ticket.  This also helps McCain target his actual base, moderates and independants.

  When offered a choice between Liberman, Romney, and Palin I think the choice is clear.  Voting Liberman would have ended with the first 3rd party candidate to win an election in years as Nader, McCain, and Obama competed for the same voters.  It wouldn't have been Romney since McCain doesn't like Romney and Romney swiftboated him in South Carolina.  Then there is Palin which really adds to that high integrity image and is new and refreshing.  Its also a humurous contrast in experience to Obama who is running for President instead of Vice President.  I think delaying the announcement until after the DNC was a good move.  If it was announced before hand it may have been played another way, and will still be said to have been a pandering move.

  I didn't think the acceptance speech was all that great, but I didn't think any of the speeches today were good.  Yesterday's speeches got you pumped up, today's speeches were more of former presidential candidates preparing for thier next presidential run.  When Guiliani was up there I thought he was giving a bad stand up comedy routine.  I expect tommorrows acceptance speech to be pretty good.  Where Obama was on a greek temple, McCain will be at crowd level and even intermingling in the crowd.  It sends a much different message that I value.  It also helps echo all his town hall meetings since he became the nominee and how he is constantly listening and answering to the american public.  Its a different approach then the scripted speeches and rallies Obama has been giving.

Right now ATI pretty much dominates the low-end, and has been for years.  The HDx400-600's have performed better then thier competitive nVidia offerings.  In that range there is the HD3850/HD3870 and nVidia 9600 which really isn't low end anymore.

SOE has bad art because SOE's HR department is run by idiots who cannot select candidates.  They select more based on personality and personal relationships then actual skill and dedication.  The models you see are a joke and incredibly wasteful.  Its like they have no design put into them.  The models shouldn't even be that hard since its only 3 texture maps.  They lack in all areas including detail.

  The easiest jobs to get are Technical Artists, and Riggers since its a freaking hard job to be good at.  It requires a ton of skills that most will have trouble possessing.  To be a Game Designer you probably would want to look into a Writing Major since thats what you will be doing.  You will also probably benefit from an Associates in Computer Science since you need Coding knowledge, then joining a modding group to get your feet wet in the software.  If you want to be lead designer... you need money or alot of commitence.  No one will hire you to make a game unless you were the lead designer of one before.  Also when you are starting out as a lead designer, don't make an mmo.  They are astronomically harder to make.  Make an innovative FPS or adventure game.
