OP I appreciate what your saying, I love the game and will be playing from headstart onwards, but by posting this thread you are just feeding the trolls. People on this forum have shown again and again that they are true GW2 brown nosers and without even playing Tera (or if played it, not given it a non-biased go), will flame any thread talking about how good Tera is. You have been warned. |

I'm sorry to say that there is no way to recover your information. As you stated the moment you put the HD in a new PS3 the data will be wiped (assume this stops people sharing saves/downloaded games). Plugging the HD into your PC won't show anything as the file systems are completely different and windows doesn't know how to read it. I speak from experience as I had the same problem with my PS3 last week, but luckly I was able to reflow it and its been working ever since. I feel you pain. |

Hey all, I appreciate that these threads pop up so often and that you are probably sick of answering them, but as we all know the world of PC tech changes constantly so that a thread made last week is no longer valid. I'm in the process of purchasing a laptop for a client at work and I was wondering what you guys would recommend as a laptop within a £1000 budget. The client wants a laptop that produces decent sound as he listens to music fairly regularly, he's not a hardcore gamer, but would like something capable of playing the latest games with a degree of future compatibility. He would also like something with a large screen and a blu-ray player. He's not planning to shift the laptop around so he's happy to leave it plugged in all the time or unplugged for short amounts of time. Now I have done the usual explanation about how laptops rn't really suitable as a gaming machine, a much cheaper desktop PC will kick its ass in so many ways, but he's insistant on a laptop so what can I do. Can anyone recommend a laptop that can provide the above and hopefully exceed it? Reaching the £1000 budget to provide better performance is A ok. Thanks |

Question to those who've played Tera and GW2...

TERA / Unreal 3 Engine .ini tweaks and performance guide
General Discussion « TERA 2/27/12 9:40:23 AM
Please be aware people playing Tera EU that an official statement has been released by Frogster, that states that any changes to the game files (.ini files included) is a breach of the EULA and is a bannable offense. |

Hey all, Wondering if you can tell me whether a 280GTX is an upgrade over an HD4870? I'm being offered a 280 for free. Thanks :) |

Sorry for the double post, but I also found this one, which although is out of my budget has a lower response time and a gaming mode for lower input lag: Dell U2410 IPS Panel |
|
|
Doing a bit of further digging I came across this one, but not sure its that good for gaming with a 8ms response time: Dell Ultrasharp U2412M 24" IPS LED Monitor: |

Thanks for the reply :) I did notice that one but they have it down as a business model, which usually means that its not much good for gaming etc. |

Hey all, I'm looking to replace my other half's cheap and cheerful 19" monitor with something akin to my own monitor (Samsung 24" 1920x1200) and I'm struggling to find a suitable 24" 1920x1200 Samsung monitor. I've been on Samsung's site and the vast majority (only 3 of them aren't) are 1920x1080, and I prefer the additional height offered by 1200. I typically only buy Samsung monitors as I've had no problem with them so far and they seem to produce good colour reproduction. I'm not looking for anything for design work etc, just looking for something for gaming (low response time, etc). Can anyone suggest a monitor from a different brand or incase I missed one a decent Samsung one? P.S. Please remember I'm looking for one running a resolution of 1920x1200. P.P.S. I'm looking to spend between £200-250 |

Hey guys, I'm playing the Tera CB and I was wondering if anyone knew of some good way in which to stream the game online live? Basically my friends would like to watch me play to get an idea of what the game is like without having to download the game. Thanks |

Functional test on Thursday & new client patch - EU-TERA

Originally posted by NBlitz Maybe cos you guys are updating an old version you are looking at uncompressed textures contributing to the inflated size. I have just installed the game for the first time and I had the game running up till the server selection screen so I have definatelly fully downloaded the game (closed the patcher and re-opened it to ensure it had fully patched [also saw EU news so I'm definately using the EU client]). |

For a 560ti that offers great noise supression and performance I highly recommend the ASUS Direct CU II version, I have the 570GTX from ASUS and the cooler is immense, fan speed never goes above 30% and it remains at a cool 50-60oC under extreme load. I can't hear the card at all, even with the side of the case off and my ear by the fan (can only just hear the air being shifted by the fan). |

Ok maybe I overexagerated :P I get more like 30FPS, but thats with everything totally maxxed; not just the slider on ultra, but every single thing on the highest possible setting. |
