The words Pedophile and Molestor exist in this language(now this may be an unfortunate thing in your opinion but we needed a way to identify them with language) and no matter what any parent does children are going to learn the meanings of these words. Will this knowledge somehow hurt them or maybe even convert them to their sinister ways? I don't think so and even suggesting it would just seems silly to me. It's not like these character's names are just pictures of child porn. So please pull the stick out of your ass. If you really need to complain about something there are far more serious threats to children's minds then words. Like Disney, Religion, and people like you.
Lets take the basis of your arguement "children are going to learn the meanings of these words" and use it in other ways and see if it holds water... Its a good idea to give my 10 year old beer "becuase he is going to drink beer eventually" Its a good idea to smoke a bowl with my 12 year old "because he is going to smoke eventually" Its a good idea to name our online charactors Fagg0t, N1gger and s1ut, "because our kids will learn the meanings someday". ALL are bad ideas, just like yours. The entire basis of your argument is that kids will learn of it someday so we might as well get them started early. The fact is, many kids will not know what a pedophile is until they are in their late teenage years. Why rush them? Why are you satisfied to throw as much bad things at our kids as you can? Dont kids have it hard enough growing up in this world without the adults showing them more bad things? |

I think it is a bit silly to expect a free trial of a game that just came out. If all MMO's did this they would make a lot less money. Free trials are used to bring people in once the server populations have stabilized or are in decline. I have been playing the game for a week and I have had no logon or lag issue except for one evening when the server had issues for an hour. I expected this from a new mmo group and I am happy with the progress they are making. This game company reminds me of CCP (Eve Online). If they keep up the good work they will be just as successful and the game will be just as good, except I hope they dont have all the crime and scandals as Eve does. I see GM's in the help channel every time I am on, I have not seen this level of support in a game, ever. |

Thanks Vlad, I'll buy off of steam now which is what I really wanted to do.

I saw you get an ATV if you buy from the FE site and you get a horse if you buy from D2D but do you get any special items from buying the game from steam? |

Did anyone ever figure out what using the code gave you? I am thinking about purchasing the game from steam in the next week or so. If you have a code and want me to enter it when I do then send me a PM. |

How would you have handled the inflation problem in SWG?
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 7/05/09 1:41:18 PM
The way I remember it, so many people had grinded through professions during the "holocron fiasco" that just about everything was dirt cheap. Sure premium krayt pearls were expensive but they were a rare drop and not player manufactured. I remember the houseing market was terrible and people were giving them away at cost. This is just another excuse from SOE to justify their idiodic plans for the EPIC failure that was the NGE. |

Toss up, D&L or SWG-NGE Both sucked hard! |

Was wondering if any price information has been talked about for FE yet. Cost for the box and monthly cost? |

Do you have to spend money to have fun?
General Discussion « Entropia Universe 3/29/09 10:47:02 PM
I was thinking about checking this game out but I see so many conflicting posts. I was interested in the mining portion and would like to try mining but I also hear that costs lots of RL money. Can I mine at all without spending $20? I am not looking to make any money from the mining, just looking at having some fun as a galactic prospector? |

Star Wars Galaxies - It's worth playing again try it, I did!
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 11/26/07 2:10:59 PM
I resubbed for a month to check it out and here is what I saw. Most servers are dead except Bria, Starsider and Bloodfin. When I say dead I mean less than 100 people on them Friday evening or Saturday afternoon. I played on Tarq on Naboo and went to every city on a saturday afternoon and found only 3 other people. I went to Tat and found a total of 19. Some planets had no one on them. On the populated servers more than half the people I encountered were high level Jedi. There were jedi fights in the city every time I went to the bank. This isnt a big issue but it drives me nuts that most of the people you see are jedi and openly fighting in the streets. If the movies were like the game then everyone in the first three movies would be a jedi except for R2-D2 and Uncle Owen. I dont know if the housing thing fixed this but there were houses everywhere of players who left years ago. Finding a stocked vendor was almost impossible. Most people who play now have loads of inventory. You will have a tough time starting a crafter since no one needs your stuff. Since most are Jedi it is hard to sell armor and guns to them as well.
On the other hand I liked the scripted missions leading you into the level 30's. Those were fun and a nice idea. I cant play on Tarq where all my things are since there is almost no one on the server. I played a bit on bloodfin but I'm a crafter and who wants to grind out to master when most people have everything they will ever need ingame and I cant really make anything for a Jedi to use. If you want to play Jedi Wars then this could be your game. |

I played UO during it's first 3 years and then left. In 7 years I have not been able to find the sandbox that UO has. I resubbed my old account to check things out. I have a GM warrior with 100 in swords, archery, tactics, anatomy and 95 in parry. I purchsed a basic suit of chainmail and a longsword and ventured out into the woods. I got owned!!! I saw a reaver (tree thing) and got hit with lightening and died before I could hit it once. I got owned by a gargoyle and a mordain priest. I dont remember being the bend-over boy before, have the usefulllness of tactices and anatomy diminished or do I just stink? I dont remember the woods being sucha dangerous place so close to the main city before. Would magical gear really help me at all? |

If anyone else has a buddy key I would like to try this one out. |

I re-subbed last month to check it out. Most servers are empty. I logged onto Tarq and didnt see anyone on Tat in over an hour. You cant find a vendor because all the houses are abandoned and those still show up on the map. I did a galaxy wide search for weapons and found on 69 listed and almost 30 of those were CDEF from people selling them on trial accounts. I went to Bloodfin and Ahzis since these are the most populated servers. A little more population but a huge gap in player levels, there are only newbs and maxed out players, not much in the middle. Most people I saw were Jedi's. I played for 2 weeks, I missed somethings and it was nice to do them again but it was not worth the sub fee to keep playing. |

I read all the fanboi posts and really thought that maybe things had changed so I re-subbed for a month. My old server Tarq is dead. I found one person in Theed during the hour I was there and it was a saturday evening. I played on Tarq for a week but the only place I found a few people at was Tat and they were all low level so I could not really quest with them. (BTW I hate the level system, now I have to find people near my level or my playtime is worthless). I checked the Bazaar for the whole galaxy and there were only 60 weapons listed and 20 were CDEF's. If you see a server with LIGHT population stay away, I would guess that LIGHT = less than 50 people. I rolled a new char on Bloodfin. A few more people around but I would guess that HEAVY = less than 300. I saw about 15 to 20 people in Mos Eisley but most are level 90 Jedi so I couldnt hang with them. I went to Anchorhead and there was no one there, went to Bestine and saw about 10. This was a Sunday evening which I believe is peak playtime. I rolled a crafter, problem is there is no one to buy your stuff. I played for two weeks and got to level 40 as a crafter but hardly sold a thing. For my last week I rolled a Jedi so I could be like everyone else. It was fun to do the scripted missions but after that I quit playing. I'll wait for Tabula Rasa. |

Is BLIX the Saviour of Star Wars Galaxies?
SWG Veteran Refuge « Star Wars Galaxies 4/20/07 4:17:07 PM
No one can save SWG from the evil reputation that SOE has given itself. I will never play another game form them, even Vanguard. I will do everything I can to ensure not one penny of mine ever finds it's way to SOE. SOE has shown itself to be completely uncaring towards it's playerbase. Why would anyone ever give them money when there are so many other MMO's out there from better companies? |
|
|
Amazing how all the people who were with SOE during the NGE are being slowly let go. I guess now they know what it is like to be sold out by an uncaring company. I personally will NEVER play anything associated with SOE. I wont even touch Vanguard because I dont ever want to see one penny of my money ever go to SOE. |

You may be correct about SOE's role in the game but do you really think they are not gonna have ANY say in what happens in the game? I find it funny that you would spend time discussing the difference between a review and a preview rather then address that actual content of the preview. The fact was the Vanguard devs have been told to play WOW, not how I described the article (review or preview). I would say my facts are straight. But thanks for your input. |
