Yeah, I think I googled Eve Font Resize or something. And it came across a bunch of threads from like 2008 and 2010. I hit the third page and nothing from 2011 and 2012 so gave up.

UI Scaling - part of Crucible, the Winter 2011 expansion

Thank you very much. :) I tried googling it but it didn't come up on the searches. Weird.

The only thing that's stopped me from playing this game is that I can't read the font even on its largest setting. I have a slight eye wobble from a car accident in 2004. I can't focus to make it clear and it gives me a headache after 20 minutes so I can't play.

Have they fixed it yet?

Really, it hasn't been updated because there's no real new information.

As of June, its still in development.

Really hate those top two pics. If thats what toons look like, I don't want to play it.

We have a old school sand box called -----Ryzom-----and very few people play

Vanguard is NOT all its cracked up to be. From the early 2000's graphics, to the rehash of eq2 in different clothes. Its not that good a game. EQ2 had better graphics than this game does. And Vanguard is newer.

Ryzom is OLD. Enough said.

There is no reason that a fully modern game can't have good game play and graphics that isn't all about getting to the top as fast as possible, raiding and pvp. None.

Not another person begging for "group dependant MMO". No thanks. I won't play it.

But we do need to return to the sandbox games. I'm sick to death of the pvp and themepark focused games.

What is the point of an mmo if you can eaily solo the content? Why not just play a single person rpg, for that sort of play style it would be a massively superior product, at leat if you pick a good one.

Did I say somewhere that I wanted it to be easy? Or that I wanted it all to be solo? Nope, I didn't. Even EQ wasn't "group only", you know. And that game was hard core dedication.

My review of Secret World. I'm so soooo disappointed. It feels like it was made in the 90's and that the creators played Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines and stole most of the ideas from that but not even half as good.

And? The two worlds are nothing alike at all. So whats the point of this post?

After betaing this game, I can say for sure that I won't be playing it.

The animations of the pc's are so primitive that they look like they are eight years old.

The game feels like Vampire Bloodlines, right down to how the game plays, how it looks, the music, and more. You can even use the in game computers by using equivelent to dos.

The npc's talk at you, and you select your response but you don't actually take part in the conversation lke you do in SWTOR (I admit, SWTOR might have made me a bit biased). Instead, you stand there like an idiot blinking, and listening while the only part of your body that moves is your eyes blinking (someone needs to tell the devs of this game that there are more muscles in the body than that. For gods sakes, go look at SWTOR if you want to see proper animations, right down to fidgeting and how most people move slightly even when standing still).

The facial proportions of the pc's are wrong so that your toon is ugly no matter what you do.

No housing is boring and the crafting is boring.

There are two things about this game that are really actually very good. The scenery is incredible. And the method of advancement needs to be copied elsewhere.

One of the most annoying things about the game is that no sooner do you leave the starter area than you're thrown into Silent Hill/Resident Evil and surrounded by zombies. I mean really? Zombies? Our planet is rich in mythology, and the only thing they could come up with was zombies? Hated every second of that area with a blind passion.

The game showed such promise but I don't want to play games that are eight years old. I swear these guys played VtM and decided that since White Wolf hadn't released a game, they'd make one the way they like it, and then they designed the pc's right around the time that game came out and got to the rest after (as evidenced by this odd feeling that your toons don't belong in the world. They are too shiny and kind of seem to float above the landscape). I love Bloodlines, but we are, and should be, well beyond that now. I so badly wanted to like this game, but I just couldn't.

I'd like to add that I have an i7 processor, a geforce 570 fermi, 6 gigs of ram, and a velociraptor. I had everything set to max. I'm still very disappointed.

I hope to hell not. I hate the free to play model.

This is the same thing that happened to my husband. He's been laid off twice in the last four years but not from the game industry. Both times was when a management company came in and fired all the old employees while eliminating positions. He's had 17 years in the industry we both work in.

Now my husband is working part time.

And me? I've moved jobs once but it was a lateral move and I'm no better off than I was four years ago. It's the same job with a different title, and it's an insult that I'm STILL on the lowest rungs of our industry after ten years in spite of being told all the time how great I am at my job and having customers write letters to my managers telling them that.

We are so sick of it, we finally decided to start working on our own business. So we're registered and we've been working on promoting ourselves. I do desktop publishing and office assistance from a distance, and he's a revenue manager. I'm the only one that's found any work so far (and I'm extremely excited about it too) as part of our business. If things keep going the way they are, we may both be able to quit our jobs within a year and work full time on our own business.

I'm so sick to death of working for someone else and hoping that I'm going to be employed next months. I'm tired of taking flack from customers who think they're rulers of the world and that we should pay THEM (yes, we actually had someone demand that once) to use the services at the place I'm currently working at. And I'm sooo sooo tired of being tired (I never ever get enough sleep because I'm a natural night owl but my job requires that I work days or I'm relegated to making minimum wage). I'm tired of incompetent and selfish managers, and owners, who get away with murder and treat everyone around them like dirt.

It's time to take control of our lives.

And those game companies? They're doing it to themselves. Just like so many of the companies in the business I currently work in.

People forget this is a business.  It is quite obvious that 38 studios was not run like a business.  400+ employees with only a single player game as an income source equals only one result.  All I can say is what were they thinking?   They were doomed before they started and I do not feel sorry for them.  Why should anyone feel sorry for someone that is doing something in a stupid manner.

I do feel sorry for Sanya's company though, they just could not get funding, they were not piling on the employee's in this case.  Money is tight right now and unless you have a rich champion you are on the outside looking in.

I had hoped you all would have figured this out by now....

MMOs are not supposed to be a business. They were NOT originally designed to be businesses. They can not work as a conventional business no matter how you tweak them... That's most of the problem right there.

Take the Capitalism mentality and get it out of MMO Gaming before MMO Gaming is ruined beyond repair. There is no large quarterly profit to be made here in this genre... nor was there ever supposed to be.

The only Investors that should have anything to do with MMO Gaming should be the Nerds glued to their favorite MMO 80 hours as week... as a PLAYER. Investors like that don't bail out at the first sign a focus group is feeling a little under the weather. They get ingame and find out what the other Players think... the Devs, the Testers, the other Investors... that is how MMOs are supposed to work. No "small group" decisions being made in secret and all that nonsense.

One day maybe some of you will figure this out. Maybe one day you will realize that the reason that so many MMOs fail is because the MMO Model was never designed to be a business in the first place. If you attempt to run a MMO as a conventional corporate business you have already handicapped it.

This simple fact is not going to change. Any MMO worthy of the title won't be run as a business and any MMO run as a business won't be worth playing from a MMO gamers point of view.... hence there will never be the kind of profit in it the Investors are hoping for because the Players won't stand behind the product and support for very long!

Some Corporate types know this very well, and have even gambled on this characteristic of MMOs... a few "MMOs" that have been released in the last year "capitalized" on taking advantage of this and the Investors made a tidy profit (but hurt the genre overall)... so don't be so quick to dimiss my comments here are uninformed or incorrect...

This is really simple Folks. You all are not that stupid. Wake up.

To the original Poster... you have my sympathies that yours and many others hard work and dream has been lost. My condolences.

QFT. Do you think anyone is listening? Its the same thing I've been saying for 5 years.

Think I'm going to explode. a game company doing a game right? Hell froze over.

Lol - you have made my day -)) I agree completely. Furthermore gear shouldn't be that different. I mean sword is just a sword ... is it really different if you hack the brains out of a mob's head with the rusty one or with the shiny one? Not really. The damage difference shouldn't be item based and item should never be the main source of stats. The best gear in the game shouldn't give more than 10-15% advantage over the rusty one. Also items shouldn't be level restricted - they should just break of use, so players will have to look for the replacement and cary some secondary weapons with them (it will actually make combat unpredictable and  the crafts useful). Or you can just pick up the club droped by this zombie you just slayed and bash the rest of them with it, how is it any less effective if you are the huge strong barbarian?

Now that I don't agree with. You really don't think there's a difference between the damage of a katana and a rusty single handed english sword? Really? Or for that matter a new bastard sword and an old gladius? You must not know anything about swords.

i like the sound of it so far. Politics, power, control. That's all awesome.

I only hope the game will not feature the usual linear story of quests that follow you from map to map in a sequence in and out of levelling. Cause that's just incompatible with a sandbox game.

Check out my website for a list of what the MMO is currently offering. From the sounds of it, this is going to really be a massive sandbox game. Players are even going to be able to be Princes.

Excellent article.

Well heartless i guess you dont have to spend anymore money on any MMOs ever again because this IS the base model for them( and it was established 14 years ago). To go away from this would be busniess suicide, invest 10 million or more into a product that May or May Not be liked?. As far as it being linear , well it is...but i LOVE the story lines they have written for us and if you cant enjoy that then you really need to move on.

This is absolutely not the base model for MMOs. Look at UO, EVE, Planetside, Darkfall, etc.

There is one MMO for which this model worked well and that is WoW. Every other MMO that tried to adopt a similar model has failed. The only one I can think of that did remotely well is Rift and even that could be argued. LOTRO, AoC, DDO, EQ2, CO, STO, DCUO... all went F2P. Aion is about to join them shortly. WAR, although not F2P is an absolute failure and I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't joined the rest of the bunch.

I think that after 7 years of trying and failing to cash in on WoW's success, some developers have finally realized that there is only room for one WoW in the genre. I, for one, am glad that at least some of the upcoming MMOs are attempting to do something different from this "base model" and I'm really looking forward to GW2, Firefall, ArcheAge and Planetside 2.

The best sandbox still cannot touch EQs numbers from its heyday, and WoW took it to another level. Throw in games like EQ2, FF11, LoTRO, Rift, and now TOR, and Devs would be flat ignorant for making a pure sandbox.

WoW took NOTHING to another level. It took what every game had already done and made everything so casual friendly its almost vomit worthy.

Thats exactly the point why I dont play MMOs over 1,5years now. They are all the same. Age of Conan brought new stuff via an interesting combat system. Everything after that - the same.

Why even bother. Lets see what GW2 brings.

Everyone makes his/her experiences - sure and I know there are a bunch of people out there who just consume and complain instead of think. Meaning: Buying a game like swtor, played literally every MMO since now and wondering "derp, still nothing new - but spent my money on it - herp!"

^ I cant understand such people. No willpower.

Honey, I have willpower. In fact, anyone that knows me will tell you that I don't take being stepped on and pushed around by anyone. I'm a very strong person. I like the game. Deal with it. And knock off the insults. There's no reason for it.
