Will World of Darkness be Sandbox or Something Else?

I don't get it. Every person out there seems to think every single MMO ever released should be to their taste. Life doesn't work that way. If you don't like it, then move on instead of being a doomsayer. |

Deewe, how about you go learn some more before you start spouting stuff that isn't true. MMO's have been around longer than your precious wow, and even that game didn't have everything you claim when it was released. |

There is no such thing as a next gen MMO. Not a one. No, not even Star Wars. They all claim to be next gen, but arent. Not a single one of these games is willing to do the complete redesign of the genre thats needed to accomplish a next gen MMO. I wrote on long article on it on my website (it's in my sig). As for MMRPG's... this may comes as a shock to you but its because mmorpg's are fun. IF thats what they actually are. You may not like Star Wars, but so what. Move on and find a game you WILL like instead of constantly feeling totally compelled to go to every possible website you can find to talk about how much "such and such game sucks". |

Originally posted by Weretigar That is ONLY opinion and nothing more. Not to mention that every single game released in at least the last five years is exactly like wow. Yes, including the upcoming GW2. You'll just have to deal with it. Btw, WoW is NOT the first game to do any of the features it does. Those features started with OTHER games, WoW just adopted them. |

Suzie did NOT win this one. Sorry. I happen to love this game. And so do alot of other people.
As for bugs.. it's an MMO, what did you expect?
Bioware never said they were rewriting the genre. What they are offering is engrossing and interesting gameplay. For the first time ever, I actually care what goes on in the virtual world around me. And I love the choices during conversations (pay attention, not all choices are good, light, and neutral, some are just different levels of light or different levels of dark).
No, they aren't offering everything yet. But no MMO ever does. THIS MMO has done something no other game ever did in the first month of release... give the players more content. |

Originally posted by chryses Yeah, honestly, its been a long time since any games have given options outside leveling. Frankly, most people consider stuff outside leveling to be "fluff". It degrades those offerings and makes the companies think they don't have to offer anything else. I may be very angry with the slimy things SOE has done with SWG and EQ2 but EQ2 is STILL my favorite game, even beyond SWTOR (did I just say that? I must be losing it). Why? Because it offers so much more than just leveling. |
|
|
Ok, the article is pretty good except for one thing... you can't be bothered to actually complete an entire planet before you leave it, whether you've outlevelled it or not.. why exactly? Because you want to get to the next planet. Its really as simply as that, and its YOUR OWN FAULT.
My highest toon is level 38, and I had early access and have been skipping stuff. Here's an idea.... play everything. Don't ignore it just because you've decided you outleveled it. |
|
Yes, I agree with you. EQ2 is a fantastic game. What is NOT fantastic is the slimy greed from most game creators now adays. |
|
You really don't get that? Because f2p games are rarely ever actually f2p. But you know that because thats the way its always been. |
|
|
Here's a shocking idea... how about using all that extra money to fix problems that have existed since the day of release. You know, like the massive memory leak. You start actually using that money for something other than to pad your own pockets and release more content that doesn't work right, and start being honest with your players, and I might consider coming back. |

Originally posted by Shadanwolf Thats called "jumping the gun". Meaning, the game is just released, and you expect the most fabulous end game available. No MMO on the planet is released with a complete game in the exact form everyone want. None. Here's a suggestion, hang in there for a while and see what comes. Bioware is already keeping their promise, and released a major update that included extra content just two days ago. Quitting already only makes you a quitter, it doesnt prove you right or that you have any leg to stand on. |
