Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Smuggler Revealed!
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/16/09 4:48:39 PM
Agreed, however I think it would make more sense to allow either class to follow either side seeing they are not involved directly in the confrontation and their intentions are self focussed. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Smuggler Revealed!
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/16/09 4:06:52 PM
I get the impression there would be a dark equilivent to the smuggler. It would be daft and unbalanced not to. I am sure this will be cleared up in the near future.
As for pure healers - I hope not. Healing as some kind of limited skill is fair enough but a full blown cleric style healer would seem out of context in this scenario. |

anyone else worried about getting a large base of immature players..similiar to WOW
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 6/16/09 3:37:25 PM
There should also be one or two tricks that will annoy immature players much more than mature ones
For example: In order to qualify for a Jedi/sith Character you must have a non jedi/sith character of at least level <number> making sure that there are few around in the early days and that you learn the game before running amok with a lightsabre and the telepathic ability to given an ewok a nosebleed. and Jedi players can only advance their toons by a set amount of experience each month (beyond a set level perhaps). After all it takes time to harness and perfect the use of the force and lightsabre swinging in safety. Beyond a certain point you might get bonus's towards the next batch of XP but no actual advancement. Therefore those playing beyond the XP movement are playing out of fun.
I could live with that but it might seem a little too slow for the immature players and the glory gamers.

I would return to the game should there be Forgotten Realms or Ravenloft. Might even tolerate Greyhawk but I dont think Dragonlance would work and I say that as a very experienced Tasslehoff Burrfoot. |

I have to admit that I think an in game ignore function is paramount these days. Due to the constant bickering trolling winging negative arses out there.
Mind you I didnt see many of them in AOC and only a few in LOTRO
I also wonder how they will deal with illegal currency sales? |

Poor or stupid players run the risk of killing the game as with any other game. They can make the game tedious and dull. |

What a depressing thread full of nonsense from the outset (apologies to the few that didnt post depressing or nonsense comments). If you folks are so adept at predicting furure events might I suggest you focus your efforts on the lottery numbers.
My advice is STFU and wait for a free trial after release. That way you waste no time bitching now and no money then. Win / Win |

General: MMORPG.com Now Offers Game Downloads!
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/07/09 11:22:13 AM
Makes sense to me. I would not click on a download link that I didnt want so it will help when needed and will be ignored when not.
Nice decision MMORPG |

Think with Wardens is that they are rather new therefore they are rather popular. In fact they are all over the place. The problem you might find with a warden is that useable Weapons and Armour may be hard to find in the Auction room. The high amount of low lvl Wardens ensures that they are snapped up pronto.
They look and play cool tho :o) |

Poll: Is it bad to start a relationship online?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/05/09 3:20:19 PM
Done that twice now and to be honest I think they were doomed to failure. As the relationships tend to operate over a distance they tend to have a very limited lifespan. |

10 years of MMORPG, now I feel that it's almost the end for me
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/05/09 2:58:37 PM
I have also been playing for 10 years + (Ultima Online shortly after launch onwards) as an avid regular player and a (proper) beta tester. Check out my sig for details.
I have to admit that there is nothing really worthwhile at the moment. AOC was my most recent game and I loved it for a period of time as it had the best first 20 levels of any game I have ever played. Nothing else of note has caught my eye of late and I have been looking.
Out of desperation I might even give WOW trial a shot |

I agree that a delay is on the cards. If it was being released in Europe by the end of this month then the game would have been advertiesed on either Game / Play / Amazon .co.uk by now.
I just checked and none of them even have a mention of it let alone a release date or a price tag. |

Have they said anything about making a PS3 version ever?
General Discussion « EverQuest Online Adventures 1/27/09 6:29:21 AM
I have not heard anything about this on the various PS3 forums however I have to agree that a good MMORPG would benefit the PS3 a great deal and so far there isnt one (HOME does not count FFS). There are a few in the pipeline but nothing yet that really screems "Come and play me !" |

I think a good dose of flu is in order.
C'mon H5N1 hurry up and mutate so you can attach to the nasel lining and throat of homo sapians rather than the deep lung tissue.
Mind you, spanish flu apparantly killed only 50 million. The human population grows by 50 million in less than 8 months so this would have very little if any effect on the environment. We would need it to kill about 4.2 Billion to make a sufficient difference. That would drop us to 2.5 billion which was the human population of 1950-1952 . 2.5 billion is also quoted as the sustainable level of humans i.e. the level where we can do little, if any, harm to the planet and biodiversity. Some say 3 billion is the correct mark. Link 1 << Plenty good stuff here @ the BBC Green Room Link 2 VHEMT (I am a member) Link 3 Pentti Linkola (I am a fan) Link 4 Optimum Population Trust (member)
