Mix of Tengu = Japanese Demon with the head of a crow and Amarr (race of char) . If this is offensive I would love to know how. I would not dream of having a rude character name (might have considered it 20 years ago). 13 hours have passed and nothing so far. EVE forums indicate that some communications have taken over a month before 1 reply. |

I was using "dislike" in its methaphorical sense. I am not aware of an account hacking issue but I cant imagine how someone managed that on my account as my PW is a long alpha/numero combo. Unless EVEMon somehow leaked the data. There is no way I have broken the EULA. Unless leaving your PC to go for a pee or make a cup of tea while your tormentor was mining counts as a sin. That is probably the worst thing I have done. With all MMORPGS I am a helpful and repsectful player. Initially I found this humiliating. Now I am just plain angry at CCP. They could at least say why I was banned on my account details page. I can only imagine this is a case of mistaken identity (human error). The ban even occurred while I was asleep, 5 or so hours after logging off and to think it was only yesterday when I was ranting to my colleagues as to how good this game is. Now I am banned by CCP without any reason and my colleagues are asking "so you still think it is a good game then?" My concerns are as follows: The GM’s might stick to their guns. They might refuse to explain why I was banned or claim that they do not know. They will take forever to deal with this. They will not compensate me for lost time. Time I have paid for. My training will be frozen so my Industry 5 will not complete by next Wednesday morning as planned. (Mining Barge 1 to follow and my procurer is already assembled and in the hanger although at this rate it may never fly) If they apologise, claim human error, and don’t interfere with Ten GuMarr’s (char name) training timing then I will happily forget this happened as people do make mistakes. As long as they do so within 24 hours of me logging my petition (09.30 GMT tomorrow). Any longer than this and I will expect my account to be extended to make up for lost time. Might also be worthwhile discussing an indemnity claim with my credit card co. We will see. |

I log in this morning to run a couple of missions before work and get the following: user <name removed> is banned This makes no sense at all. I am a 37 year old experienced role player, gamer and beta tester. I have never cheated (apart from about 5 years ago in ultima online to get rare barrels). I have mined, hunted npc pirates, conducted missions, helped new users in game chat. I have never done anything wrong. Never cheated, macro'd or even paid real £ for ISK (which I do not approve of). The 9 million or so I have is hard earned ISK I did download EVEMon from the links in the EVE Online forums (they have an EVEMon sticky). I do wonder if this has lead to my account being hacked or something but the account was fine when I last logged on at the time listed above. I have raised a petition with EVE. It will be interesting to see how they deal with this situation. I will report back here when I know more. This will be a good test of their customer services. I was really enjoying this game and now they seem to have taken a dislike to me for no logical reason. |

Yes I could do that but I kinda like my character. He was new therefore a little imperfect but that is better IMO that a char built from some kind of template based on in depth knowledge. I will stick to the one I have and if the servers dont die for the entireity the next 48 hours I will subscribe. And you are dead right about the server failure information. That facility is by far the most accurate and up to date of any MMORPG I have played or beta tested. Shame it does not seem to be mirrored elsewhere as when all of CCP servers died the other day this facility died also so there was no info available. A mirrored fault report facility would have compensated for this. Perhaps even sending a message to Eve radio to mention the status (which didnt happen while I was listening for it). |

Thanks folks. All of that makes perfect sence to me. Chances are that I will continue although I am a little dismayed with the fact that the server is now down again. I would love the opportunity to get my SP and ISK up. And so far a 14 day trial looks like being a 12 day trial. When I try to log in i get a message saying Starting up...(533 sec.) Earlier it said about 290 sec. so it looks like the countdown restarted. I am assuming things did not go too well with the patch. ***Waits 533 seconds*** OOO logon ******* (*almost gets hopes up*) AGH! Your character is located within (Nakri), which is currently loading. It has remained like that for the last 10 mins now. I have 3 hours of play left at best tonight which will take me to 2am. If it is not working by then I have only tomorrow and part if Friday of my trial remaining. The ONLY thing stopping me subscribing at this very moment is the reliability of the server. I guess it is just unfortunate that I took my trial during a large patch deployment period. On a lighter note the login screen tells me that my security status is now 0.1 and I have almost 4mill ISK

It seems like a hell of a lot of trouble just to continue play. I will just cough up the fee and spend all my ISK in character. I have made rather a lot buying and selling slaves and for some reason I rather like it. I guess I am old English at heart. |

Yep - by the time the server comes up (assuming it does anytime soon) my 20 hour training session will be long over and I would have gone to bed. Not really a 14 day free trial as this has deprived me of a day. Suppose 13 days is not too bad and pretty much all MMORPG's have some trouble with large patch updates. Looks like I am going to subscribe regardless.... The community within the game seems more impressive than the game itself although one or two players could do with some personality patching.... |

Lets face it the music included is not bad but is limited. Your own via a built in MP3 player would be nice. BTW if anyone knows how to make the current system do this I would be delighted to know (using a seperate MP3 system is obvious but less convenient).

Fair enough. Teething trouble with patches and expansions are not uncommon in most games. The additional research I have done has led me to two understandings 1: Servers are pretty stable in general. 2: To get the most out of the game I need to join a clan/guild. May have to wait a while as most are reluctant to take on Trial players. Wonder if I can find a good UK/EU guild as they should be online pretty much the same time of day as I am Shame they are doing the update Tuesday Guess I will have to spend my day off doing real life things *shudder* |

Hi folks Been playing MMORPGS for ages (UO/DAOC/EQ2/DDO etc) I tried EVE about a week ago with the 14 day free trial and so far I am quite impressed and have apend a lot of time on it. Today the servers died. Then they came back after a couple of hours. Now they have died again and the websites for support and information are also dead. First time it went down there was messages to inform the players that work was being done to rectify the situation. This was nice and is where many other MMORPGS fall over. Sadly with the support network down this is not now possible. I need some information from those of you that have played this for a while. What i want to know before I start parting with money to play this game is: How often do server problems like this occur with EVE? |
