that isn't the greatest analogy but you do make a good point with the message. a better analogy would be to have to share that 100 dollars with the people helping you do the same job, which would get done faster with more people.

you don't have to do more work by grouping and taking on solo content but a lot of people will want the better xp and better loot if they are having to organize and maintain a group to tackle the more challenging content.

to me grouping is only fun when its challenging, grouping to steamroll solo content isnt fun and if the group content is more challenging than solo (as it should be) it only makes sense that the reward should be better, whether its better XP, better loot, or both.

the reason a lot of solo players like to play in a mmo alone is usually because they cant stand the community and they like being in a living persistent world.

some people just cant stand all the morons in the more popular games. it also can be quite stressful being in a group with people you do not know or even with people you do know.

sometimes people just want to play at their own pace, relax, and enjoy the game they are playing.

some don't want to join a group where the other group members think they are bad asses and pull mobs faster than they can actually handle them (for example), especially if you are a healer type class.

personally, as long as there is a lot of solo and group content i am fine. i wouldn't mind forced group content if the community was friendly and non "elitist" but that just wont happen anymore unfortunately, unless you play a less than popular game that the kiddies and elitist's don't like.

People begged and pleaded for a KOTOR MMORPG.
Now we are getting EXACTLY that. A KOTOR MMORPG.
Those same people now complain because it's not a sandbox game.
Did you somehow forget that the KOTOR games were story driven?

exactly, anyone who actually thought that this would be a sandbox game wasn't really using their brain.

i would like to be an Iridonian Zabrak

iron rock is a pretty decent core server. but i will say this....if you join a server and its not as populated as you hooped, you can always transfer to another server for free.

as long as you are still in tier 1 i think.

i don't care how many subs this or any game has as long as i like it and the server i am on is not dead.

if they do it, it should give you the option to install because i bet that game would be 30-40 gig (even more) with every NPC having multiple voice over story threads, the way bioware is trying to do it.

there were swords in the other games i thought?

wow, this thread still here?

the sooner the cry baby elitist ex SWG players realize this isnt SWG and GTFO or except it, the better.

i am so sick of hearing them cry, they have literally been whining for years, freaking nerds lol

it wont be a GW or DDO type game, its not going to be puyre instance. if i had to guess, i think it will be more like wow or war with story driven content.

personally i hope it is a "clone" any successful game post wow will need to take stuff from wow and other games and improve them, that is exactly what blizzard did with great success.

i think this game could be very cool if people would just calm down and take from it what it is, just another game in development, its not going to fill the void in your life that has been missing since you quit your first MMO lol

I hope to god there are no such things as BGs, I am fine with RvR though.  But I am not getting the game for pvp, im getting it for the PvE.

Exactly... however I would be getting it for the PvP, and ofcourse I'd want good PvE to complement it but mainly for the PvP :)

i am willing to bet that pve will be the main focus of this game, as it should. you will probably be disappointed if you want to play this game mainly for pvp, that is just speculation though.

what do SWG vets think? who freaking cares? i am not looking forward to all the crying we are going to here from these idiots because they dont approve of this or that.

i dont know much about this game yet but i do know that these SWG dorks need to give it a rest, so freaking sick of hearing them bitch.

vanguard is by far the most disappointing, so much that its not even worth mentioning any others.

For those too dense to figure it out and like to cry about it without just asking a simple question like "can you help me please" I will throw this answer in your stupid drooling faces.  Next time just ask and you wont' get slapped with the help you're too proud to beg for.

Nvidia users, use Nvidia Control panel to increase the gamma of your desktop settings.  Carries over into the game.  Right click your desktop to open the panel.

Ati Users.  Catalyst Control Center does the same thing.  IF you're cool you won't have CCC installed and instead will be using Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tool.  You can adjust the gamma through that tool as well.

If you can't figure those simple steps out because you have an American education or have eaten so much Top Ramen in your life that your brain has wormholes in it created by MSG poisoning, then please google Gammadjuster.  This is freeware that allows you to adjust gamma settings on the fly through the use of hotkeys in game.  Ctrl+alt+Numpad Plus raises, Ctrl+alt+Numpad Delete lowers.

Now go forth and play in the light.  Mythic should put something like this in eventually.  Until they do you can either cry about it more as they say, or suck it up and fix it yourself.  Be a man, grow a couple of nuts and use your god given intelligence to figure it out.  You are connected to the internet.  This does not mean you have to cry like an milk fed mewling puppy on a forum every time something goes wrong as you can simply just google the god damnable answers before you ask them almost 100% of the time.

*edit: If you're Destruction then disregard the mean and angry parts.  I assumed the people crying about this are playing Order so that is the tone I would like them to hear.

i could be wrong but i dont think that works unless you play in windowed mode. i have the same problem as the OP and i did what you described, but have to play the game in window mode or the game will not use the desktop gamma settings.

Can you upgrade your RAM at all? That's going to bottleneck you more than your GPU I would think. You're probably eating a lot of swap file and get your hard drive grinding a lot I would think. If you can get another 1GB of RAm you should notice a pretty significant difference.

my MB is maxed out on ram unfortunately, but the game runs alright if it is not hitching or crashing to desktop, that is my main problem.

i am mainly wondering if it is my card that is making me hitch like that. sometimes when it does it the graphics glitch and you see all these weird purple lines.

also i have to play in windowed mode because everything is dark. my computer is like that in other games too, but there is usually a lighting option to turn the gama up.

first things first, i know my computer is older than dirt and i need to get a new one. but for now i dont have the cash to do that, just upgrade.

that said i meet all the minimum requirements to play warhammer but the game hitches and lags really bad.

it also crashes to desktop sometimes, here are my specs.

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Windows XP Home Edition
ATI Radeon 9550 / X1050 Series

the only thing i am wondering is if i upgrade my graphics card, will this help a lot with the hitching and lag?

i am unable to upgrade the ram anymore due to my crappy MB. but if i can get a new graphics card and if it makes it more playable, i will.

BTW i need a AGP card, thats another thing that kind of sucks, at least until i get a new rig.

any suggestions? :)

let me just say that if you compare new games to wow's current polish and expect war to be at that level....you are very ignorant and need to just hold your tongue next time you want to give a "review".

i played wow beta, and wow's open beta stage was not so much different than war's to be quite honest.

there were many bugs, it was not anywhere near as polished as it is now. if you really expect any mmorpg to be as polished at release as wow is 4 years in, you will never be happy.

just wait until its at least 6 months old before you play any mmorpg, dont even attempt to play one at release because you will be disappointed every time.

just go back to wow until next year and maybe war will be polished enough for you then.

you cant stop third party selling, the only solution is for these companies like mythic, soe, and blizzard to come down hard on these gold selling websites.

even then it is impossible to stop.

i am willing to bet that when the game actually launches, order will outnumber destruction simply because all the kiddies want to play the good guys, just like wow.
