this thread is a fail, this game has the best replayablity i have ever seen in any mmorpg.

yeah you have to do some of the same things again but name me an mmo where you do all different stuff with each new character you make.

the trolls on this forum still amaze me.

nope, the servers are still packed and every time i look most of them say "heavy" in their status.

people are simply loving this game and you vast minority of players who don't like this game or any games like it need to cope with the fact that you definitely are the minority.

So far from my observations i have seen this

-tanking a single mob. -- trooper vanguard
-tanking a group of mobs -- consular shade
-tankhealing. -- consular sage
-group/raid healin -- consular sage
-PvP healing -- consular sage
-single target DPS. -- smuggler scoundrel
-AoE DPS. -- trooper commando
-Crowd Controll. -- consular sage
-PvP survivabillity. -- consular sage
-PvP killer. -- smuggler scounrel

i dont think everyone will agree, but this is how it felt to me so far

i think that is pretty accurate although the sage/sorc is still probably the best pvp killer. best pvp ganker in the open world would be op/scoundrel IMO

And be sure to keep in mind that the reason there are so few people on these forusm praising the game, besides the general collection of trolls, is that the 95% or so people who enjoy the game are playing. I am only here because I have a cake in the oven.

i am only here because i am in queue lol

they will get that worked out though either way, not worried about it at all.

If you went by the haters on this site , every game sucks and is not worth the "greatness" that was pre-WOW era. To me, that era was boring as hell and I don't miss those games one bit.  The last game I remember being hyped here by  the hardcore "vets" was Darkfall and that was the most bug filled piece of crap I have ever experienced next to SWG. Best bet is to just research the game yourself and make your own judgement.

this.

although i do miss EQ sometimes, mainly miss a lot of friends i made in that game.

the new mmo's will never touch the communities those games before wow had, before mmo's started to become mainstream.

they don't need meeting stones, you don't travel to the instances like in wow.

some of them sre pretty cool but i don't do most of them simply because i am also doing the flashpoints and pvp so i outlevel the content and only mainly do the class quests.

my cc has not been charged, the game has not been shipped, yet i am playing the game.

that is why this thread is a failure.

my choice has been set in stone for months now, IA operative.

is it just me? but I hope there are no SWG vets that play SWTOR because from reading these forums for years they have been some of the biggest cry babies I have ever seen.  Go find something else to play SWTOR will be good with out you.  SWTOR doesnt need saving it just doesnt need a bunch of cry babies.

+1 but that goes for all the whiners.

ravenloft.

I'm getting mine from Amazon too. Intially, it said the 28th or 29th. I was able to change my delivery option to 'Release Day Delivery'. Now, that's all well and good. We'll see if it actually shows up on the 20th.

Upping it to 7 days of Early Access only whets my appetite more and makes any embargo on playing all the more painful :)

everyone using amazon should read this post and go make sure they change it to release day delivery.

before mine said arrival was the 27th-29th now it says the 20th and the shipping is only $.99 where before it was $4.99

i am pretty sure you will get the code e mailed to you.

i am all for dual talent specializations but absolutely no AC respecs. if someone makes a mistake and picks the wrong AC they should be allowed to make a ticket and possibly get it changed once, but other than that definitely not.

being able to respec your AC defeat's the purpose of having AC's in the first place.

this entire website will always be filled with whinny my game vs your game fanboi vs hater threads no matter how good or what game it is.

the more popular and mainstream a game is the more crying you will always see. if this game is as successful as it looks like it will be, the hating and in turn the defending of the game will only intensify.

i agree about the combat. when i play a force user i feel like i am a warrior or mage from wow kinda.

which is why i will be playing an IA at launch. i am sure i will make a sith warrior alt eventually but i have much more fun with the classes that use blasters and throw grenades at the moment.

its not going to flop in terms of sales or subs.

haters gonna continue to hate post launch, they will even hate it more when it becomes the new popular mmo that all the "newbs" like to play.

#1 rule all elitist's must abide by, never like something everyone else likes. lol

IMO the game kicks ass and i am glad i have been allowed to play it since july. :)

Well NDA is finally dropped. Thanks god for that.
Not because of any mistery the game was. If anything Bioware never hidden what the game was. A pure straight forward DIKU, Themepark ( or what have popularly be called WOW clone )
I am glad NDA was lifted , to see so much positive feedback.
Reminds me of strong positive feedback AOC and WAR recieved back in the day.
Not sugesting SWTOR is not million times better.
But the excitement from players was same. if not greater.  (i remember AOC had around million preorders too)

But that is just the thing with themeparks. They are awesome, but the shine wears off fast.

So when i see people here bickering about SWTOR.
Isnt it in fact just a argument about themepark vs sandbox?

For me question is simple: Do you like Themepark MMOs ?
If answer is yes - SWTOR is probably best themepark made to this date (or at least sounds so)
If answer is no - move along.

And that is all there is to say about it.

Alas,
In my oppinion, time of themeparks is over. MMOs are moving on and SWTOR will be the last of its kind.
It will be real hard for it to show profit in the age of F2P and B2P. And its subscriptions will dwindle rapidly.
SWTOR will become a last dinosaur. Example of what not to do in MMO.
And it will bring changes.

And this is why I love it.

this is a pretty uninformed post to be honest.

you do realize that wow is a theme park mmo, right? pretty sure its still pretty popular 7 years after launch.

its not the fact if it is theme park or not, games being developed in that manner just bring in more players to the genre, it makes the games more mainstream.

what keeps people playing first and foremost is community and content. if they can follow through with solid endgame content to keep the endgame guilds happy, that will be pretty huge.

because i can guarantee you the casual gamers will be happy as you possibly could be with an mmo in terms of longevity due to the 8 unique class story arc's, the pvp end game, and all the other aspects of this mmo that you see in all the other mmo's out there.

i will frankly be shocked if this game isn't a huge success long term but again, it depends on how they follow through with accommodating the community and the end game content.

thats what it really comes down to.

i will take "shard jumping" over server instability or overpopulation and having to wait in line to complete an objective any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

this is going to be beneficial to the launch of this game and just like in EQ2 once the zones are not so over populated, you will never see the "sharding" again.
