Would you play an MMO if the world could be destroyed?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/14/07 4:49:45 PM
The "evil" side would need to be judged by the active population and level average (or player rating if levels weren't a factor) to determine its strength and weakness. If you had a low pop server and you had an overwhelming evil side then it wouldn't be fun. If it had something like Horizons had where the blight was creaping over the land and the players had to stop it. There were events on Horizons where the dark side would invade and we had to defend. The ides has been out there, you would just need a game to captivate the players and give them a reason to fight. You would also need to take into consideration if the evil side was about to take over, people would want to jump ship. So there would need to be a limitation on character transfers (if even offered). While many of us (me included) would love to see some of the more annoying players on some games get wiped and never return, you would also run the risk of losing your core players. Maybe if the server got taken over and there was a wipe, there would need to be some sort of perk for players to come back. |

Shaiya http://shaiya.aeriagames.com/ : This is a game that just ended CB and they are hoping to launch OB between the 12th - 20th. It has an L2 feel to it but seems to offer a little more in the way of movement and game play. It had an active PvP system and will hopefully retain its PvP activity after OB. It's definitely worth trying. |

As many of the may know and to the few that don't SCO USA is being shut down. This was copied from sco.gpotato.com
Dear SCO Community, |

It's good to hear that production is still in full force. The game looks amazing, keep it up |

I came across this game a while back and since then it has been festering in the back of my mind. Since asking for a release date is considered taboo, my question is this, how are things going in the development of the game? Are we going to hear anything new concerning the game in the not so distant future?
Thanks |

Well that's your first problem, trying to play WoW in the first place. But if you must play, I would suggest clearing your cookings and web cash. If that doesn't work then restarting might fix it. If that doesn't work then I would say run an anti-spyware program and clear all that crap off your system. Other then that, I would say return the game and go spend it some where else
Good luck!

Hmm= Wonder If Aion will beat WAR in population of players
General Discussion « Aion 9/27/07 8:12:26 PM
I think both WAR and Aion look amazing, however, if the standard stereotype of Korean MMO's play true with Aion, I think I may try it out but not actually get into it until other means of playing it come about. I'm not fully committed to WAR either, after years of playing WoW off and on and other MMO's I'm finding I have a generally bad taste in my mouth for MMO's at this point. All I can say is I hope these two games WOW me (Not World of Warcraft). |

I was able to install and update just fine, just waiting on my key so I can start playing. |

I'm getting pretty tired of WoW for the 6th time or so. There has never seemed to be an MMO that could ease the addiction and finally replace WoW. When I stumbled upon this last night, it was like the heavens opened up and there was hope again in a darkened and lost world. |
