Yep you need another graphic card but anyway i tried this game with a nvidia fx 5200 card (50$) the first time and it was really fine FFXI dont need a good pc to play it. So anyway if you can pay 20$ per month to play a game you surely can pay at least 50 buck to buy a card. But anyway with you system who is still a good one you probably want a decent graphic card too but that depend on what you really do. Anyway you can get a good 3d card for 200$ even less and you will be sure you can play FFXI with the top settings.

First if it a notebook you cant get another 3d card and 1gb of ram with vista really suck because when i tried vista and start my pc without nay program only the vista itself i had 725mb aprox already taken so....... Sorry to say but with onboard card there is not much you can do so if this is not a notebook go buy a card even a cheap card will be better.

Well even if you get a shity connection you should be able to connect yourself but for you firewall you need to open the port for lord of the rings manually because i dont think the firewall will know lotro its a safe program.

So i think you should begin there im almost sure you firewall block it. If you dont know how to do it just disabled and use windows firewall instead. This is easy when you will lunch lotro it will ask you if you want to unblock it.

By the way wich firewall do you use because if you use something else than windows firewall, when you shut it down the windows firewall will enable itselft so maibe you want to check that. Secondly you really should not shut down you firewall when you play if you care about you pc.

Well the trial is the game (the same client) so if you cannot enter it you will not be able to play it even if you buy the game you should try to go on the lotro forums to see if someone have the same prob.

Huh what are you talking about?? Farcry best scifi title ever? Ypu mean Farscape?

Anyway if you mean Farscape well yes this is a good show but surley not the best scifi title because there no such things of best title.... Every good shows as something about it. For me New BSG or stagrgate are better shows than farscape but this is only a question of taste.

Ack!

Dont worry  if they say a 3GHz they mean a single core so yours will be perfect.

Well last time i had reactivated my account the 30 october and they have charged me 40$ the first september so i have paid 20$ just for 1 day of playingi say you should wait just to be sure.

That it!! Its working now thanks

Still didnt work but i changed my password because i dont know this smell fishy.

I have send to the support contact and email so i guess all i have to do is waitng....

I cant claim my prize too but for me this is

  • Username/Password is not valid!

But my user and pass is valide because i can log to this site.

You want a free easy game with fast lvl, a good ending and good graphics? Well... quit the mmo world because that not for you. Why company would do such a thing? They want a lots of people playing their game for a long time soi they can make money and this is perfectly normal.

No offence you ask to much here my friend. If you realy want to play a game you will have to cut the apple in half. Play WOW or LOTRO but still this games are quests grind  and you have tp pay.

If not just play regular rpg or else....

Well first i say yes the game is better now  but there is still work to do.

Secondly for me Vnaguard is in a way hardcore (but not as much as FFXI) because :

1. The craft is a very long grind process, you can pass more time to get lvl 20 in crafting  than it will take for lvl 20 in adventuring.

2. You can solo to get xp but pass lvl 25 it become harder and you will need to find a team to xp quickly. (Sometimes this is hard to find a team too).

For now this is all i can think about the similarity with FFXI.

Now the easy part. Well for me a easy mmo for casual player this is  without a doubt WOW and Vanguard is harder so i dont thinks this is a game for casual gamer anyway you can solo with a lot of quests like wow and you have a lots of thing to do (craft, adventuring and diplomacy). And The world is so big and beautiful than you can just explore it.

Well for me this is a good game but i dont know there is someting missing. Anyway the only way for you is to try it yourself or go directly to EQ2 wich is a good game too.

War you will be able to play it and for AOC You shoyuld be able with lower setting but i cant really say. Anyway if you dont want to wait you can still try the 7 day trial for LOTRO,  The 10 day for D&D or the 14 day for everquest 2. For everquest if i remember you cannot leave the start up zone tough.

there won't be a diablo mmo since people are sick and tired of swords, elfs and the fantasy genre..

if ever, then there will be a science fiction mmo...

so dont hold your breath for a diablo online...

I don't think people are sick of it.

Look WAR it's all about elves, orcs, magic and swords and people are still interested in it. Or look  at WoW there are still 9 million players there who all love fantasy mmorpgs.

About Diablo III, i hope it is not a mmo, because diablo games always been fast combat games. How to get fast combat in a mmorpg? With 2 factions! If they do it they ruin the game i think.

This is  not 9 millions of player for wow but  9 million subsciption in the wow lifetime so far. This is not the same thing.

Even that if people continu to play fantasy genre mmo with elves and orc this is simply becuase there is no good other genre right now exept for eve online and Anarchy online (but this one is old).

I can say for sure than im very tired of elves and orcs.

I'm not sure I know what you are talking about.  I spent time looking at character faces in EQ2 and in VG and I'm not seeing anything I'd call facial animations other then blinking eye's and moving heads and I'd say that VG looks better then eq2 in that reguard.  If you are talking about emotes that make you smile and stuff like that cause the only major game I know that provides that is SWG....

In fact I logged into eq2 and VG and staired at the avatars for awhile and they are reasonably similar except the close up detail of VG faces are better.  The eyes have eyelashes and look really good.  But EQ, EQ2, VG and Wow all have no facial animations.  They have idle animations that involve body movements, simulated breathing and some eye blinking.  If you do emotes like /laugh or smile you just get a text message an no face changes.  Maybe a body movement but that's it.

So when you say VG has no facial animations you are correct but other then SWG there are no other MMORPG games that do...  Now if you are comparing single player games sure there are some great games with great facial animations but I think it is really only fair to be comparing VG to the industry competion.  Not to say it wouldn't be great to have better animations but what are we comparing too?

Even better I found an article on the web talking about Facial animations basically saying what I just said...

blogs.parc.com/playon/archives/data/avatar_interaction/index.html

They did point out that second life also has facial animations so there are two games with them...

What can i say more than that...

American game give more grinds then japanese games does in reality.

Infact American games "force" you to grind and hit high as fast as possible, while japanese MMORPG never really does (i am not speaking for korean's type...those are suggest grinder).

Japanese made mmo are completely different from the rest of Asian's so don't be mistaken. I have played several japanese made mmo and i don't feel heavy grind as community is always pioritize and alot to do for all level.

FFXI is similar, there is no need to be 75. Most missions give a "level cap" where you must be specific level when doing these missions. While many things are forced "level cap" hence you can get groups to do those as you level (of course, if you want). Also note the Biggest differences, FFXI have 4 unique FF-based stories which no other MMORPG did. No MMO actually give a proper tear breaking story... (i was crying when lion die...)

Meanwhile, because FFXI is group-oriented, you won't feel the grind as much as soloing when you trying to solo the "same" content until end game. If you think doing the same "genre" of quests is not grind, you are blinded by them.  I always feel doing the "kill x number of time venom spider @ level 10" is same as doing the same "kill x number of time of acid spider  @ level 11"...

FFXI is group oriented hence, you WILL NEVER see the same people, and everyone wear different things, different gears, play differently, and act differently. Making the game alot more enjoyable.

Of course, you will have groups with "assholes" and groups with "geneous" and groups with "elitist" while often "Noob" as well. That's what make FFXI fun compare to many MMORPG out there. I can't stand soloing doing the same old quests runing around and feeling the same for next 10 in-game day.

FFXI is all about strategies, great strategies make leveling easier, as i posted on the forum "someone did reach 75 (max level) within 5 day of the new job release", hence leveling is never hard.

The problem is... will you sit around 6 hour waiting for someone to pick you out of 50 people seeking OR will you start yourself and sell yourself to others and start leveling.

If i listen what you saying here it wow, lotr, everquest, eve online.... etc are all grinding but FFXI, Lineage 2.... etc are not grinding game?? This is what you are trying to say? Well sorry but i cannot agree with that and dont take me wrong i dont say FFXI is not a great game and dont have a lots and lots of thing to do in fact this is surely one of my best mmo i ever play but you cannot deny the fact that for leveling you have to find a group and kill the same mobs at the same spot for hours and hours..... That is for me a grind game.

You say you cant stand to soloing doing the same old quests running around and feeling the same for next 10 in-game day but what do you think you do in FFXI? This is even worse you stay at the exact same place without moving. In quest game at least you move and discover  landscapes.

You say hence leveling is never hard and that true but only if you have friends to help you power leveling.

And  you say you WILL NEVER see the same people, and everyone wear different things, different gears, play differently, and act differently. Making the game alot more enjoyable. Well lol sorry but that a big lies. All dradoon player will have they purple armor, all warrior will play with an axe etc. So please dont say all player are diferent in this game.

Well it depend on what you seek in a mmo. FFXI is a very good game but two of the big prob, one  is the time you sepnd only to find a party and the second is the hardcore player who dont want to party with you if you dont stick with there rules (ex: the warrior fight with a axe and not a sword). Thjere is no place for freedom in this game (my experience so far so dont light the fire on me).Dont forget FFXI is a grind game (you find a team, you find a spot and you kill, kill and more kill). LOTR is more a quest game and you can play solo. Well for LOTR just take another trial and you will see by yourself.

So if you are a hardcore player FFXI is for you if you are a casual player i suggest LOTR.

I was in the beta and all i can say is the first 5 hours was cool (Starter Zone) but after that the fun begin to go away... All armor had the same skin, a lots of bugs and not much content. So i was not surprise when i heard they canceled it.This is not a big lost
