I am pretty casual,

I usally play at night after wife and kids go to bed. Like 930pm to 1am. Weekends about 10 hours total. In WoW i would tell my wife a week prior if i wanted to make a raid. Sooo id say 30ish hours a week?

You do realise that you play almost the same time that peoples work a week? But yes sure you are casual.

For the op, years ago casual where defined by the time you played a week. But these days a casual for me is player who want everything fast with almost no effort. They can play 40 hours a week but still they will claim there are casual beacause they have a wife and kids and they dont want to spend too much time to leveling or explore because they HAVE a life and blablabla but they want to be able to get the best reward the game has to offer.

This is sad for me but this his reality... mmo is design for casual player these days.

I used to.. now this is pointless. Now everyone has the same gear, there is nothing new, nothing special. Since now gears are easy to get i dont see the point to look at it.

Well most game i know have already been told, you might want to try perpetuum (eve like but with mech) or maibe Europa 1400 - The Guild (not mmo), i have heard that this is a good simulation game. You can start biusiness, trading and participate in politics etc... never try it myself but i think i will do this week-end. Hope it help.

on topic: How is the combat of KOA? Is it really that good? I've been wanting to play an RPG that isn't as open-world as Skyrim. I was wanting Dark Souls but it wasn't available on the PC as I have heard, so I want to try this.

The combat is like fable, and this is not open world (at least what i saw from the demo) so it seem you may enjoy it. Me i will pass, i didnt like fable 3 and this game is too similar + closed world for an rpg its a gamebreaker for me.

Hmm.. Sweet! I think I'll be able to play KOA this Feb while I'm taking a break from Skyrim.

Also, I've read that KOA's graphics looks like an MMO since it was using the same engine that was used to make the MMO for KOA.

Im not really sure what you mean by mmo graphics, but the graphics look like fable 3 but with less poly, cartoonish a little but with nice textures. Overall good look for the eyes if you like stylish arts.

The title is very confusing for people tbh. Kingdom of Amalur is the single player RPG. The MMO is known as Copernicus atm.

(correct me if I'm wrong)

You're wrong. The soon-to-be-published single player RPG is called Reckoning. The MMO is indeed called Copernicus (at this time).

Both are set in the Kingdom of Amalur, a game world created to host multiple games in the future.

I dont see where he is wrong since the single player game IS called: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning...

i only get a black screen, and a flickering menu when i hit esc.  I guess i'll screw with it tomorrow or something... to tired now.

Disable Post Processing in the graphics options. This should do the tricks

This is how every mmorpg should be. Open world with tons of things to do. The exploration is the key for me. I like a game where i can go in any directions and found some cave or ruins etc... Some place is too hard no biggies i just go somewhere else and  i will come back later.. Ha the old days where so cool but now... boring!

Thanks Sinella, well i will wait for a trial i guess. If it ever come.

If there still have keys, i would like one please!

Lineage eternal is in developpment, i saw the trailer and it seem good.

I there i would like to try this game but i dont think there is a trial right now, if there is i cant find it. So is there a way to try it without buying it?

Thanks!

Well i just try it and this game should  be in developpement.

I do the tutorial, and enter the world. Now i have to report to some npc, that what i do and im free to explore at my will. No other quest to tell you where to go, love it.

So i decide to kill some things but huh? i cant! the mob simply dosent respond to attack. I try other mob but still cant kill them. Well i choose to explore and maibe i will find some mob not buggy, but then i cant even run properly, my character is slow and it seem like there is some invisible force who just dont want to let me run. Loggout!!

I mean this game is release since 02/04/11 i we cant even do simple thing like killing thing and running! Alpha state.

I donno where you guys are getting your parts but I could build a decent system for 500. Of course it wont be high end where you can render movie files while recording and playing 2 games at the same time while streaming, but it will run any game at least on High settings.

Well if you can build a rig for 500$ wich will play ALL games at high settings, why you dont just show us. Put all the link of the pieces with they prices. I will love to see that.

TheMeddler, i dont beleive you can buy a NEW rig that can play guild wars 2 a max settings for only 500$. You can build a normal rig for that price and surely play guild wars 2 at reasonable settings tough.

My advice will be like others before me, save some more (maibe 700$ to1000$) if you really want something good or buy a second hands pc.

We can say the same thing about the fanboys.... why the haters bother you? why instead of playin your marvelous game you come here and start ridiculous post like this?

I dont hate this game, in fact maibe i will buy it and play, but for me you are worst then the haters, cause the haters who troll a game are so bored that they just dont have  better things to do. But you seriously why are you here? you should be playing!!

If they skip the cutscenes then they are doing it wrong. That doesn't negate your point but if you rush through games like this then your going to be missing the point of them.

They aren't to get to max level and grind out gear.

They aren't about server firsts (which is why there is no recognition beyond the community for getting one).

It's why you can't instant warp to locations and have to walk. The game is meant to be taken slow and steady.

Basically what i'm saying is if you skip through the cut-scenes then your time doesn't really count as the marker for how long the game normally is, as your not playing the game the way it's designed to be played. Kinda like playing an adventure game with the walk through on the next screen over and skipping all the dialogue.

Actually you CAN instant warp, this game is not a grindfest but this is not a slow pace game either. In 4 hours of game play im already lvl 11 of 50. I didnt rush it and i taked the time to listen all dialogs. So like most modern mmo  i can reach lvl 50 in 1 or 2 weeks.

You could in two or three weeks. You would miss three quarters of the game if you did,

No i wont, like i said i listen to all dialog and do all quest i can find so how can i miss three quarter of the game?? Im not the king of gamer who rush trough end game, i explore and take the time to read and listen tthe quest but still the leveling system is way too fast. This is not the first game who adapt this kind of fast pace genre, there is nothing new there.

Cause people like hating and bashing. I dont play wow and dont intend to play it, i dont like the direction they have taken since BC. Still i dont care about panda, i mean why not? There are cows already so why not pandas?

The game will never be worth playing until they just throw out what they have and start over.

I play the game and for me it is worth it. So just because you dont like it they should trhrow the game away?
