Looks very nice though.

but its not on both sides tho. And the the Right arm has a gap between the two parts

Like the Ranger and Warrior outfits in GW the shoulder should be part of the chest but since they are changing the way the armours work in GW2 we can't know for sure. But they definitely look attached to the chest with the leather straps.

I actual think that guildwars ended up with a little overkill. with dual class AND all classes with "free" switch for a secondary class, combined with henchmen and heroes.

So I wouldn't mind a dual class setup. But maybe without the free switch, mostly because i miss some kind of diablo like flawor to my Toons, that GW1 was close to have beforo the free switch. At least for PvE

It wasn't exactly free, if you were a PVP character I guess it would be but if you are a PVE character you first had to be ascended, finish a particular mission that deals with killing celestials or get to sunspear sanctuary and attain a certain rank. And after that you pay 500 gold to change to each proffession after which it is then free to switch.

I'm just really interested to see whether or not industrialising planets will take place from one's ship or whether or not we'll be allowed to manually placed buildings etc. on the planet's surface. I hope it's the latter...

You'll probably be shooting down structures from orbit and you will have a small thingie extracting the stuff that is shot into orbit by the things on the ground (NOTE: this is just speculation).

@ Slashbeast

It will probably need you to have standings with the sovereignty holder before you can build on a planet, in hisec losec or null. Even though i'm hoping this is not the case, I know that I'm just stretching and I'll have to work on my standings if I want to touch any planets. Because if they allow just any Tom Dick and Harry like me to touch planets, they'll be in for what is happening with wormholes right now; oversupply of resources.

Thinking about it more, this should change the population of systems if it turns out to be profitable...

And this kind of harvesting only requires infrastructure not mining lasers so while you sleep, money will be made.

I wouldn't call it exploration, I would call it "harvesting".

Time to play Eve.

Well... the most fun as a PvE Player is to be a trader in EVE. The rest IS boring.
Most EVE supporters here have the mindset "I am in a good guild (corporation) so the game is good, we do chat and so on".
You won´t find random pick up groups... well you may find one or two, but after this you will learn. ;)
You will read a message "EVE is not for carebears." I read this message 5 years ago in an ingame channel. 2 days later the same guy wrote a petition, because he lost his Navy Raven in a lvl 4 mission due to lag.
It is a good game, but the opposite of this game is "instant gratification". I read about people who planned their second account for 6 months ahead (doing all learning skills first etc).
If you find entertaining PvE content besides Trading, let me know.

Wormholes.
Enuff said.

My informations may be wrong, but aren´t Wormholes PvP too?

To be honest I never tried production, because when I view at the Blueprints, it sounds like I have to kill many asteroids... and find a production spot.

Wormholes allow pvp but they are generally pve content

Blah blah blah...Yeah I agree things look a bit bad right now and yes all CO players know and have pretty much split along lines about it. Some have left, more have stayed but the quality of the new content will make or break them. Those of us still having fun are waiting to see if they come up with the goods. If it sucks...we'll see what happens then.

The thing is you'll have to pay for it before you're going to know if it sucks or not. I wonder if they will at least offer a free dose of Vaseline and a reach around or if they will make those CStore additions for the week the patch releases as well.

Can you please tell me how long it takes to max ALL possible skills that are related to flying a frigate (gunnery, electronics, engineering, spaceship command, etc).  I am sure it is far longer than a month, and it is almost certain that someone who has been playing for several years will have all of these skills at 5.  This is assuming, of course, that someone wants to fly frigates for the rest of their EVE career.  Ships that will actually make you competitive in pvp take over a year to train to their full potential.  So how exactly do you catch up to a veteran?

I wasn't thinking about it being maxed out but yeah.. 4 months

Hahaha, join the "eve radio" channel in the channels list under "Other", they do fleet ops sometimes and you have to ask to be fleeted or listen for when they say the name of their fleet so you can look it up on the fleet finder.

They said that the Goons would never catch up and become a threat.

Atlas too.

I don't care if I can be just as good as the veterans in one specialized role (even that takes at least 6 months to achieve), I know that my character as a whole will always be underdeveloped, less versatile and therefore more dependant on others to succeed.

1 week to be good at flying frigates.. 1month to be good at every thing else that could be useful in flying them... don't get it twisted.

And no matter what.... you will always be dependant on others to succeed, Eve is NOT a solo game.....unless you have an alt and even then that's not solo.

I'm not trying to come in and ruin what some people love.  Only wondering if there was a better way to get new players situated into the game.

The design of this game is pure excellence, the ships look great, and the pvp looks fun.  But I never got that far.  I spent a lot of time mining rocks and traveling from gate to gate.  The PvE is somewhat disappointing.  I don't want a spoonfed game at all, I enjoy the openended play.  It's just quite a complex game and I had trouble situating myself in it.

The skill system looks cool, if you were one of the first players to start playing, as for everyone else you're always going to be riding coattails.  I wish maybe they could implement a system where skills could be "earned" in-game rather than qued.  And I'm not talking about destroying the current system, only giving players a chance to work at gaining some extra points.  This of course would apply to both veterans and newbs.  The skill system was the first thing to turn me off to this game.

Anyways, Eve Players make the best movies around, I love watching them on YouTube, I was always inspired to play, but couldn't get very far before turning it off.

Looked like a solid game though.

Well in truth, the skill system actually makes things stay very even in many ways. For instance; I can't go past level 5 on Gallente frigates, so there's no way you can't catch up with me, If you were to get frigates level 5 as a new player and I had frigates level 5 and we were to fight, there's still a very good chance that you might win even if you are a new player. The only thing you lack in eve is the dos and don'ts, the "I've done this before so I know what to do" knowledge. Its doesn't really matter how many SPs I have, all that matters is the amount of time I've spent playing the game learning the tactics and the ins and outs of how to fit a ship.

In order to enjoy eve you have to have a personal goal in the game and those are hard to come by, maybe when the next expansion is about to be released you could set one of its features as something you want to take part in. It will definitely help because what most new eve players lack is direction.

as apposed to Guild Wars. Thats my thoughts.

I'd like to know why you say "as apposed to Guild Wars....." I'm getting a hint of sarcasm....

Anyway, Star Trek space combat is like Guild Wars with your heroes only equipped with one skill that they can't activate by themselves and its also a lot more strategic. Star Trek ground combat is like Guild Wars Prophecies where you have no control over the henchmen apart from telling them where they should stand.

Can't deny that the combat is fun.

I deny that the ground combat is fun.

Ground combat is like Guildwars with just henchmen and no heroes. And I think the reason why it isn't fun is because there's no real creature activities on the planets ...but who knows...

Ironically those are the same reasons I post on forums...

So they basically removed the F2P part?

This post has nothing to do with free to play.  It has to do with the standard 1 month free subcription content that comes with every mmo.

There is a pathetic amount of content for free to play.. but that is for another thread.

Well that does it people, this game is going to DIE .....HARD!!!! /sarcasm

Anyway, I was feeling your point till you said the free to play was still in there but you want your 1 month trial time.....t'was good to hear your opinion.

Still, its not without its problems..

It is indeed different,  but its mentally exaughsting as well,  I find I cant play for more than 3 months before I get tired.  Sometimes I wish there were more simple 'kill 20 x' type missions..

Well, hopefully Walking in stations will provide some more fun entertainment.  Otherwise I'll defintly try dust for some fps shooty shooty.

You know I found the cause of that problem.....its because you are not invested in the cycle of eve somehow, maybe its manufacturing or trading or null sec warfare you have to be invested or you have to provide a service that makes you somewhat importanr in the cycle that makes eve tick to actually want to stay in it for longer but yes, you are right, it is very mentally exhausting. The best thing you can do for yourself in eve is to give yourself a goal and stick to it.

Played EvE from the beta but cancelled a few years ago because I got sick of being ganked, robbed, podded and abused everytime i spawned at a jumpgate.

Have things changed? When i quit I was spending most of my time trading, something i love about the game, but I was being stalked by a rat corp run, long story, but i didn't provoke them, their own idiocy caused them a significant loss and they blamed me for it. Everytime i was spotted i'd be gate camped and ganked, podded and then recieve a stream of abuse. 2 weeks of this finally got the better of me and i quit.

Now i know joining a big corp would have helped, I didn't belong to a corp, i didn't want to belong to a corp, i liked being an independant trader and back then there was some good isk to be made trading between different areas.

My question really is, nowadays, is this still a viable prefession? Or has the game become homogenised with everyone able to make everything they need, so don't need to trade with other corps/sectors?

Trading is still very viable and is one of the most profitable things to do. I do it myself so i know, you can always stay in the NPC corp and do all the trading you want you can't be wardecced, I don't even think the tax placed on NPC corps affects buying an selling either so you're all free there too.

The only thing you should be aware of is people trying to suicide gank in hisec by camping the most popular trade routes, and that means no auto-piloting until you are sure which trade routes are safe.

I see a lot about EVE offering people the ability to "mine" and run "trade runs" - both of which I personally find extremely boring as far as game play experiences.

That being said I also know it provides PVP - of which im more of a carebear and not quite that hardcore.

Don't worry about being a carebear... that could just mean that you pick your targets.

Im the guy who likes to run quests - with a friend, maybe go kill some pirates and provide escort (with some action happening) to a trade ship.

If it doesnt have to involve pure pve then shure. Depending on your corporation, or alliance that corporation is in. You will provide support for mining operations, support for hauling stuff wither it is in a lowsec operation or your corp utilise guns to support normal operation during a wardec(instead of closing shop). That protection is not against NPC's but rather other players.

Does Eve offer a satistiying amount of content for a player like me or is this just not the game for my playstyle?

Can you follow a set goal outspoken by a real living person?

I think Orphes got what you want a little wrong, you want the PvE side of Eve that allows you to do missions that require killing things, protecting things, acquiring things and couriering things right? And you want to do it with a friend? Well there's plenty of that in Eve and you will have alot of fun doing it, there's cosmos missions, epic arcs and storyline missions. There's alot of stuff you have to get your head around when it comes to doing Eve pve as it pertains to getting access to all these different types of missions but the main thing you should know is that in order to get higher lvl missions faster you have to train the social skill called connections and in order to get more money from the mission giver you have to train the skill called negotiation.
