Not with a PL.  Back when I was leveling SAM, I got into a party that was chaining 300xp mobs.  It was fantastic.

Well, I just re-subbed to the game, and I'm really hoping that it's just my server choice that's messing with me.  I'm on Asura, and I realize that THF isn't really highly valued (even though I am 15, SA anyone?) , I have YET to recieve a dunezz party invite.  However, I have gotten into three level synch parties (all of which sucked, the exp was slower than soloing easy and DC mobs). 

So the question I pose to all you fine peoples out there is this:  has my server gone to sh*t in the year that I've left it, or is this level synch jacking with the system?

I had to lawlz at this.  You really said FFXIII had worse graphics?  Come on man, share some of what you're smoking/injecting/snorting.  Both LOTRO and AoC have better graphics, because they're much newer.  And before you flame me for being a fanboy, I'll have you know I'm currently subbed to FFXI, and neither of the other two.

Anyway, OP, didn't read your whole post, but if you're looking for casual, FFXI prolly isn't for you.  It requires a LOT of time to be successful.  Other than time investment, it matches your other requirements.  Basically forced grouping (which I prefer) lets you meet lots of peoples, and there's always some downtime so you can chat with everyone. 

I'd say go for the trial, and see if you like it.

I'm playing on a trial account right now, and I have some questions on the game:

1)  It doesn't want to let me use DX10 in-game.  I know it's not a big deal, just curious if that's a common problem (I'm using an 8800GTX).

2)  What are the most common/least common classes in the game? 

3)  How do you get more combos?  I don't really have a game manual, so if this is a common knowledge thing, don't bitch at me too much.

The Witcher is a story-driven game but much less linear than Bioware last games and it can be a pretty hard game if you set the game in that way.

Im pretty sure you didnt experienced the game as what you said about good and evil has absolute nothing to do with the Witcher.

Some negative aspects (like loadings) are an issue easy to forget when you get into the game. Games like BG and Planescape are not perfect in the technical side aswell, but we know they are great RPGs, tha same happens with The Witcher.

No I was saying Witcher has a couple of obvious choices usually 2 in a form of partying with one side or another. And it's a joke. It's the same as good vs evil. In a linear game like Witcher there's not possible to add realistic consequences.

For some reason, every women in Witcher is a whore or a witch. That doesn't make the world dark or mature. There're extremly long loading screens. The engine is horrible, it has invisible walls everywhere. You can't run around a small stone, because the collision is too large around it. Game is divided into chapters, and each chapter is linear. There's a quest marker that keeps you saying where to go all the time. Witcher is no RPG either. 90% of the game you spend in loading screens, 9% in FPS-style combat and 1% running around asking people how you can help them.

Maybe you should try the new version, you can get a free patch if you already bought the game. 

Btw, load times were never a problem for me.  Don't know why people complained about them.

Oh, and another thing,  I was reading some posts about MoM.  Is it true they're overhauling the graphics?  I think it's a pretty game right now (with all setting topped out).  But even better graphics would be sweet.

I really dig Captains right now.  I've always been a support/healer class at heart.  But I'm curious.  I was looking at their skills, and they get halberds/spears at later levels.  Are those worth using, or should I stick with sword/axe/mace and shield?

Just picked up a copy of this game, and had a few questions:

1. Is there any sort of mail system?

2. What classes are played the most/least.

3. Which servers are the most populous?  ( I rolled on Nimrodel, and there's no one to be seen at level 5.)

I probably have more stored in my brain somewhere, bu they aren't coming to me right now.  Thanks in advance!

What are your rig' specs?  Could just be a technical issue.

*edit*:  Looking at it, it looks like your GPU wants to shoot itself in the face for running the game.  What card do you have, and what bios etc.

Nope while the WD has similar qualities nothing is as cool as the whole goth feel you had with a necro.

ehh it doesn't matter Ill play a Barbarian and Paladin anyway and maybe force myself to try the WD.

Seeing as how I've hated goth kids since high school, I'm down with a change of pace.

And actually, from what I can tell, the WD looks like the Aztec from Loki (minus shapeshifting).

One other thing:  how much merit do we put behind those leaked screenshots from a while back?  Those are what gave me the impression that it was FFXI-2, because the graphical stylings are nigh identical.

I realize that any straight answer I recieve will be purely speculation, but do we have any sort of idea when this might come out?  Like, around when FFXIII releases maybe? 

The only reason I ask is because I sort of want to re-sub to FFXI, but I don't want to waste money/time if the newer version will be out sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know if this is gonna be p2p?  If so, I'm out.

No, you don't need to accept this, Mythic stated that they have a 0 tolerance for this kind of thing and that they have a crack team of people doing something about it. Oh yea? A crack team that takes 2 days to reply and in some cases I still haven't recieved a reply in over a week yet the gold spam is steady AND the ignore system doesn't block them???

This is annoying, I don't accept it, I never see gold spam in City of Villians, I never see it in wow due to mods.

So you can do something about it.... Cancel your account. Play something less buggy and without gold spam loopholes with smoother gameplay such as WoW or CoV.

1. You have apparently not played an MMORPG at launch before.  Having bugs is just part of the launch process.  However, I've seen Mythic do a fairly good job at fixing the bugs in this game so far.  That includes your comment about the ignore feature not working (they just patched that).
2. No gold spam in CoV?  I never got gold spam tells... but I frequently got gold spam in game mail messages when I played (over a month ago).  Therefore, I highly suspect you're lying about that one.
3. Yay for you that you stated that you get no gold spam in WoW.  However, you specifically state that "due to mods."  Umm... doesn't that show that not even the almighty powerful Blizzard can't do anything about gold spammers without outside help?  Therefore, your point is moot.
4. Face it... you mention CoV and WoW like they're in the same league as WAR.  WAR = PvP centric.  CoV and WoW = PvE centric (despite that Blizz is currently trying to focus on PvP stuff, it is still built as a PvE game).

WAR has been out for a little over two weeks officially.  Therefore, it is still under launch phase.  Thus, bugs will still be prevalent.  However, Mythic has shown anyone who has an sincere interest in this game that they are working on fixing those bugs and problems.  That includes beating down gold spammers.
