I think its fairly easy to call for the removal of ads when its not your livlihood that is affected by them. If we had to pay to visit MMORPG.com then maybe your views would be more appropriate but as it is we don't have to pay and therefore we should just be thankfull that the site has people working hard to gain advertising revenue so as to remain free.

I'm sure if you looked you couldn't find a more informative site...if you can tell us about it.

I personally don't agree with IGE but as already stated I don't have to click on the banner. Also, this site isn't just dedicated to people who don't use IGE or don't agree with it...I don't agree with many of the practices employed my many of the MMORPG publishers such as Blizzard and SOE, as I'm sure others don't either but we still all play them cause they are of interest to us...just as IGE is of interest to its users.

You gotta love the Capitalist economy though, where else could you buy and sell someone elses intellectual property for real life currency?

I am currently in the process of starting a guild known as the Ganedan Militia. The Militia will consist of 5 companies known as The Wolf Guard, The Dragon Guard, The Pheonix Guard, The Troubadours and The Militia Traders. Each of these companies will have a Captain who will be part of the Militia's council.
I am therefore looking to recruit people for each of these positions. However, I am not looking for just anyone as I want to create a mature enviroment where the members actually care about the guild and believe that the leadership is the cornerstone of making this happen. To this end I would like to talk to anyone who is interested via pm first.
Get back to me if you are.
Alternatively take a look at our (quiet) boards at http://ganedanmilitia.proboards26.com/index.cgi

Don't worry, you didn't actually miss very much.  Maybe a half hour of enjoyment.  I could be doing an injustice here though, I played on my own, or with a group of strangers, with a good guild I guess it could be fun.  And with a name like Guild Wars I'm assuming thats what they were aiming for.

I do believe WISH will have this implemented.  Not kingdoms controlling towns as such but player guilds, until they are taken over by someone else.

This in turn will take time and co-ordination as there is no insta-travel in WISH so a guild/army would have to travel to where the attack will take place on foot, which due to the size of the game may take awhile.

I forsee many local disputes, much like real life which I think will be one of the things that makes WISH and interesting and dare I say mould breaking game.

Heres an idea, the original poster asked for information of WISH........not your opinions.  How about we give him the info and let him decide for himself.

Wish is a game that doesn't use levelling as most games do but your skills grow gradually as you use them making for what should be a more realistic gaming experience.  Also, because of this the economy should be very lively as crafters will have to train crafting skills to improve rather than fighting monsters to gain blacksmithing skills.....go figure, which in turn should lead to a more diverse range of classes where each is reliant on another which in turn should promote a good community.

This is whay WISH is all about, community, no insta-travel, town guilds etc......take a look at the main board or even better the stratics site.

I think the live content aspect of WISH works really well for expansion oppertunities.  For example, say MR decided to add some new land in the form of an island chain at the same time they released player controlled ships, how cool would it be if it wasn't advertised or named and left upto the players to discover it.  It could be hinted at in books around the main realm.  The first player to land on the island gets to name it.........ah, I WISH.

Definitely WISH, was gonna play WoW before I discovered WISH though.  Now I'm just gonna play WISH all the time cause I think WISH is gonna be much more immersive than any of the other games coming out.  By the way, did I mention WISH.

Well, the graphics may not be the best.........yet, but, neither were UO's in its golden days and I found it more p,layable and appealing than any other game to date.

Graphics don't make a good game, gameplay does.
