I would have to agree that the downtime mentioned is the time between fights. I have found that even soloing the only time I have needed to take food or drink to regen is only when I have barely escaped a fight. most times the time to target nest mob is all that is needed to get a full recharge. It is nice as well that this game is not pot driven like some of the Korean MMOs where you cant even survive an encounter without taking 5 or 6 potions.

Im sure the server downtime thing mentioned by the OP will improve once full Live happens following the 30th. Now if it is a patch day then I expect like most games that will be a day wasted.

Im finding the performance is much better especially in the heavy lag point of Lomshir. In Beta 5 I could hardly interact with NPC because of the choppiness. Now I can intereact just fine. Im quite impressed.

I think Vanguard could have taken an award if there was a catagory for most contriversial MMO. The Beta sure has stirred up alot of discussion for both possitive and negitive perspectives. It couls have also taken or had a draw for first if there was a catagory for MMO most hated. The game for that they may have had to tie with would be WoW. Even though they have 8 million subscribers there is also a vary vocal bunch who dislike what has given it such huge market appeal.

There truely no way to please everyone. Not even in Awards, editorial or otherwise.

No, Its not April 1st so It can't be Arpil Fools yet.

Its nice that anyone can make a new character and spout any drivel that they want without proof.

Maybe the OP should go to an investor site to drum up some business.

I've been a dedicated follower of forums for games I've played ov er the years. Some have proven useful. Usually its the stickied threads that are some guide of one sort or another that I refer to. The best are usually the threads that link to the useful threads because so many are posts that whine about the game. Most times I end up just going to the Fansites because they have everything that is truely useful in a user friendly set up with little to no crap.

I can probably do without the "offical" forums.

This game is fun as heck when you just want to beat the crap out of things. Great to come home to after a stressful day at work. Its free. Has an off the wall sence of homour with the naming of items. It doesnt seem to take itself too seriously and it doesn't try to be more than what it set out to be. It definaley delivers in a way that many games don't. Oh, and did I mention its free.

Was this game designed to be rediculously hard and slow paced in the lower levels?

Something for them and something for me.

For them: Its a testing of thier systems with additional people before release to see if any bugs have slipped through.

For me: A chance to see if I really like the game and am willing to pay out the addtional money to buy the retail copy. If its really a game I like I will even pre-order.

I dont know which is more fun. Hearing all the great information that Paul has to offer or watching the way he tells his stories.

All things considered this little game is proving to be interesting and fun. It is definately doable. Sure its not eart shattering or anything but it does fill a niche.
