1. There is no SW MMO in the works with Bioware.... It's possible that Bioware wants to do something original when breaking into the MMO genre. This leaves no questions in regards to having complete creative control over what they produce. This is not to say that there isn't another Star Wars MMO in the works, just not with Bioware; at this time. 2. LA and Bioware have joined hands to produce something "else"... While Star Wars is their more popular IP, LA does have a number of other works. One of which became a hit, had a bit of a following, and had a promised sequals that didn't make gold. Said title had two failed attempts at sequals. The title I speak of is Full Throttle. While most of the folks who were involved with the original project are gone from LA, this could have been enough motivation for them to tap Bioware; who have been quite successful with LA's previous works, KOTOR 1 and 2 respectively. This would have been an ideal project for Bioware to tell a deep and entertaining story with a proven succesful IP while having a substantial amount of creative wiggle room due to the lack of backstory and history. At the same time this gives LA a chance to help put out a long desired sequal. To add to this, current titles and soon to be titles are showing a trend of reviving and continuing older titles i.e. Starcraft (98), Diablo series (97), Fable (96), and C&C (95). Full Throttle Originally debuted in 1995. Just a thought. |

I think if there was going to be an issue about it, we'd have heard about it by now as the game is 4 years old. |

Enlist now, because I have been waiting for this forever. I'm 31 and Lego's are still the absolute No. 1 greatest creations of all time and it's going to take divine intervention to keep me from trying it. And how in the world do you associate adults with cybering? |

It's going to greatly differ from person to person. For instance I'm an abstract person by nature as are all my friends. There are people I have met online in MMO's years and years ago that I still chat with. Some of these folks I have continued to play and group with in other games; sometimes not even being in the same guild or factions even. I know folks who have gone to drive 5-8 hours on their weekends to help a buddy move; a buddy they met in an MMO. Folks who are concrete really need the world around them to be that way. Because they're such, they have a hard time justifying someone online as a friend because they don't have daily, concrete interaction with them. While someone who is abstract doesn't have that issue because they don't place any or as much emphasis or recognition into the physical side of the situation.

Here's a possibility and yeah, I know who these links goes to, so you can take it or leave it as you may. "The latest rumor is that there is a Star Wars MMO coming in 2009, however, neither BioWare nor SOE is working on it." http://www.slashgear.com/rumor-new-star-wars-mmo-wont-be-developed-by-bioware-0810145.php "Rumour has it that a new Star Wars MMO is in development at LucasArts, and is scheduled to launch alongside the live-action Star Wars TV series towards the end of 2009. The MMO's plot will supposedly follow the same storylines as the TV series. " http://www.totalvideogames.com/news/LucasArts_Developing_Star_Wars_MMO_12739_0_0.htm " But video game insider (or rumor-mongering charlatan?) Surfer Girl claims that there is an upcoming Star Wars MMO coming in 2009 that's "not being developed by BioWare or Sony Online Entertainment." She says the new MMO is being timed to debut, and will actually tie into, the live-action Star Wars television series planned for next year." http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/07/rumor-bioware-not-involved-with-star-wars-mmo/ |

The spacing between lines in the text is off... At the top it's packed in too close together in places and too far in others. The spacing isn't even. I'd say the screenshot is good, but the chat text is fake. |

There really hasn't been anything like the Original EQ. Let see the silly stuff I remember: *The first skele I killed in Kaladim that had a weapon; mobs that showed the weapon the had as loot, rusty short swords, *That mad cackling that skele would made when you slapped him around. *Sitting endlessly on the dock waiting for the boat to come and turning away for 5 minutes to see the boat sailing away. *Endlessly collecting crushbone belts and shoulder pads for turn in Greater Feydark. *I remember hours of waiting to find someone selling a small or med. bronze mask to complete my set of bronze armor. *Using a spit for the cooking tradeskill as a makeshift backpack. *Being stupid and pulling spectors in the Oasis. *Running through Kithicor at night because you couldn't get a druid to port you and you didn't want to wait. *Screwing up going through Kithicor and having to retrieve your body... Twice. *Watching Fippy charge the gates of Qeynos. *Performing a "raid" into the mansion in that Undead estate (I can't remember the name for.) Just for everyone to get wiped from a huge hand that would stomp you. I could go on and on... I really don't think there will ever be anything like that again; seems kinda sad really, but probably for the best.

I would absolutely LOVE a Starcraft MMO... But, somehow, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Diablo MMO in response to Flagship as a, "THIS is how you do it." sort of response to Hellgate. |
