I have heard alot of people speak of end game, this meaning dynamic world ends. That is not what nor why they brought GW2 along. GW1 had a large issue limited growth. GW dev update throw great events. But the end game should not be in a MMO thus why you will be also supporting them 1 or 2 times a year with a major expansion, micro transaction if you choose too. I agree with Devil veiw point players will be what makes GW2 last, and they will be there if the game grow levels with them and never feels like you hit the cap wall for long. To me the cap wall, the game ends is a mistake. Maybe a peice of the story will end as you turn the pages the next starts.
The AI seem to truely have better intellgent reaction. I have come up on hald dead event bosses, and pulled agro. But tanks have the skill set to keep agro, to a point but even then they seem to switch off. Not sure if that answers you question. But I can say this GW, this game does not seem to be playable in the ways we have been use to.
GW2 I play lighty I left many things to others to test, I ran through some thing others would leave away from like getting all the points from the city search in starter cities to see if there where problem. I did this because I made it over to Lions Arch for a go see. I did alot of things but I left alot I  could tell I would not want to feel like I was repeating things. I did play with character creation, and I hope they tweek that abit more for release. Totally happy where they are and expect release will go well.

With what looks like a very good release of TSW would it not be wise for GW2 to postpond release until say end of September, that will give a full clear month after the free month you get with TSW.

Bearing in mind that GW2's main income will be from box sales they would want to maximize the opportunity and look for an ideal release time, so soon after the release of TSW could prove very damaging for the box sales.

With time a lot of players will get GW2 but releasing so soon after a good releasing AAA title can not help intended sales, they have waited this long another month cannot hurt.

TSW will be the one to worry on this, GW2 has already had one decent pre-order launch. As too players, GW2 has always prided their setup to allow for gamers to play more than one game. Thus Box sales, and Major Game expansion sales, It seems to be a strong business plan for them as well. But in the end if you wish to play TEW feel free GW2 will be there when you return, and with it scale down model if your friends are ahead of you they can still come back to play with you at your level. That is the beauty of this game, you can join in at any point and have fun. So for those that think School may get in way they need not worry. GW2 has the future of gaming locked in solid. I see the game world coming to a new way of thinking. Lets hope it keep evolving, it needed a kick in the bottom. I am tired of cookie cutting Asian games that you can say, that looks just like Game so and so things are just renamed.  GW2 hpye is right, there is something times many for everyone.

I can not help but laugh at all the complaits of College students. I have to agree with all those of us that manage, jobs, dinner social lifes etc and our favorite game. If college is going to be so hard, I really can not see you ever playing a game again once you get into the real world, because it will stop you from succeeding the most basic parts of life.  I say well done GW2 getting out and remembering all of us that had pre-ordered and looking forward to seeing that release date.

I have heard more than once a Stress test on a Monday, this should not be. But people forget we are a 24/7 world and there are still tons of people off as a regular off day on Monday's. I lacked no issues with plenty of players in my areas. This being a stress test they did set some things that did create some problems. Thus we tested. I have to agree most players are now getting the test part of what is happening on the game now. No more screaming in all chat fix this etc etc was nice people talking about what they where running into all of us posting tickets. I always look at these test as getting us a game we will not feel stressed over when it releases :-P

I think this thread has been a bounce and a bounce. They did not give any expectation to when they would launch when they offered the pre-order for release date. The promised access to Beta Events not how many or how often. They did give  us the post with we will try to have 1 a month and a stress when they stated they could almost 100% say there would not be one this weekend.  That is the closest we have come to what and how often since this has begun. Thus no matter what we think, would like, or have set as our on expectation not one Pre-Purchase did so with any promises of these date. Like everyone else, I do want a released game, as much time in game as possible. I also feel anything longer that Sept Release concidering we have paid for the game would be not good at all for A-net simply because they took early payment for the game.  But knowing how strong they are on customer satisfation, they have all this in mind as well. We will just have to wait and see. As to those that have life issues and want a late release I have to laugh, if you can not take care of your life if a game to paly is there then you need to not but anything until you can keep up.

I have read a few you start out like this talk little event. As with any game they are making sure you understand the basic steps of how the game works. As too characters limitation, these are closed beta events, to tweek and correct game. So they will give you content and access to what is ready to test or that they are ready for you to have. Just did the beta stress test yesterday, report several bugs for them. Dealt with some lag issues that we where told to expect because of what they would be doing to servers. The biggest issue I keep seeing in these post, is the few people that expect a game to play that is ready, something that was never promised. Though I am still in open open open mode because I want to be able to come back and play GW2 when ever I want.

I think the idea of comparing Tera released, and GW2 not released in early stages of beta without even a release date slightly strange.

I did Tera Open Beta Event weekend, and of course GW2 1  Beta event weekend,

Tera FPS combat I found slightly funny, and I have already heard it said in a post here. If you wanted FpS why not go play one.  After you work through the keys for getting to all the stuff because of FPS style, it is doable and I can see why some that really like there FPS would find Tera the MMO for them. But it is a MMO and not a FPS so at times with normal game progression it can kinda be a pain.

It is a normal Asain grind in many ways, remember most are still quite abit away from hitting that wall, they all seem to be moving along well and the toons are new, all the little features are cute. Then BAM you hit the wall of 40-45 amd your bar slows down and you are kill 100 of these and bring them back, and you realize you map is progressing in a straight line, that I saw early on the straight line.

GW2 of course burped some this weekend, but the team was there updating forums and FB until they fixed things. It gave no issues in second part of the weekend. I made a point to play with my settings to ensure I hit high and low and I had no isssues there.

I can say they have delivered a game, that makes you feel like you are in a MMO. I loved the fact you ress'ed each other, players could just play together. I had to agree with many, catching myself from not attacking another mobs and then going omg I forgot we are suppose to kill with each other. Looking up and hitting bosses mini events. I of course took sometime to dodge my way along to Lion Arch since they openned it up for us. As I got killed in group of 14+ at level 6 if I did get killed they ressed me :-)  I have a bad habit of dodging up my maps to see what is through the next door. :-P.

I thought to myself, I would have played Tera for abit, but I knewI would not stay with it and did not see it worth taking money to play it for a few months. I have been over the Asain games for a long time, so that not even the cute and beauty to their graphics can really pull me in.

GW2 has given me custimized and I could change dyes and I saw that I will be able to add special colors as I make them find them as well increasing my choice. I did not really touch all by a long shot in what they offered this  weekend but GW2 has truely hit the mark for what I wanted and have ask for in years past.

In the end, if you like Tera game style it is there for you, and if you want GW2 something new and different it is on the way. But we have to get through our Beta's first to allow Arenet to finsih it up. I want it live we all do,  we have been waiting for quit sometime, but I want it right so I will sit tapping my nails thinking with each GW2 artical they will say and the winning date it :-)

I believe the issue here is Beta, to many have no idea what Beta means. To many games have long Open Beta because they do not want to be hit with complaints that game is not ready, they can say look Beta. GW2 offered Pre-Sale with Beta Events as a perk for ordering it now.  They gave us nifty bug report button, survey at end of mission events with note areas. Yes there was a time you got true Closed Beta invites. But we have seen that move away.  Some reason for that are people would get into Closed Beta start whining that they would not get to keep their toon and not give helpful info. This weekend, GW2 was giving responses quickly to forums and issues. As always they make a problem they fix it. You never feel that they went home and you will have to wait on this until whenever. I too put in some feedback on que out also from what I can tell you can grp for WvW and  I do think they are looking at all the system for other worlding. When we did last event as a Beta grp my husband and I got moved apart as well.
Well let us all say, that on this one we are dealing mostly with Trolling.  if what we see in gem store is the way of things heck unless you want a little fluff it will not be a draw by any large means, I bought magic drop boot some mini pets and some more mini pets because the where random, and I wanted to see how often I got the same thing  out of 3 packs I only got 1 match up out of 9 and 3 out of 9 that made me giggle so I kepted them.  Drops are decent so I did not see a large scale increase in using them. I love all the stuff I was getting to do so a XP boost nah I had no desire to level out of the areas fast with boost. In the end no P2W here and the game is to much fun to worry about boosting my levels and because of level up I could go play in PvP  worlds anytime I wanted. At this point no one had alot of time with any of the skills so all of us where low going into PvP.
I found lower levels with Mesimer was fine, I got rid of the sword as soon as I found a vendor. Staff, Septor, and I had just started kicking the Great sword about. I played several classes then stayed with my Mes, because the Mes was always about how you use the skills, at level 7 when I got my weapon swap mode class was really fun just slip into one group set off a set of skill them into other set. Mes was always one of those classes you have to understand how your skills work together.  But honestly I can see fun in all classes once you get past level 7, it gives you a whole different way of playing, I do really like the skills linked to the weapon set. I took it light this weekend I wanted to take on the setup of the classes, and adventure about. I figure without a true launch date, I do not want to level out to much or the Beta weekends will begin to make me upset because I want the game live. ;-)

Well I think the start of this was you have to forget the Asian cookie colored stand and ping ping ping 101 =1001 XP to the kind of the %  of the level 2.

Personal Story, new areas, Events honestly I have hit here and there and I just do not feel stuck, the map could be better. But once you start adventuring about you find what you need. The larger cities will be a bit of a pain if you have to walk them all out to get raders etc.

Skills for caster, I always play the caster groups I have found them to be very verstal. I think everyone just has to lay back and enjoy. Remember that all is not unlocked these are Beta events, stress and bug detecting. I am really pleased at what I can see so far, and I am really glad to finally having something non asian grind and here is your quest line now kill me 101 spiders :-P

I am truely amased, that you are told plainly what you are signing up for and still people think it will be something else. Smooth lauch mean bust it down now. No game and I mean no game has ever come up witout stress test and bug test. Different computers, setups and the list goes on will add to what could be wrong or go wrong. I went into the forums Devs have been posting regular. But this is a Beta Event, it was meant to stress and for us to play what we have been waiting for. I do miss the old days and I truely mean years ago, when they truely pulled in for free beta people without charging or pre buying. But that was days gone by long before GW2. I have enjoyed my look at the world, and I have answered all the survey's and submited bug reports as I run into stuff. The game so far is what I expect, and I look forward to getting back on tonight after work for more gaming and reports.

I have really not hit any lag and I turned up my graphic to high on just about everything excluding shadows. Also remember they are getting hit in starter ares fast. As to skills that is all about early stuff. I like the animation so far. Though will say starting Mesimer Nor with Sword and close up was crazy. Made Elementist and she moved along nicely with her staff and off hand and distant skills.

Though I will not play Tera when it is launched I took a look at it in OB this weekend, and I will give them credit. It was not a copy classic Asian game that we in US would have to deal with and play because Asain market liked it this way. I give you and the group a high 5 for taking this route, and hope you great success :-)

I think the Hype, is always going to make people wonder. But As I have seen with in past with this group of Dev and the company they never promise what they can not give or what is not ready. That is a key selling point to me. They went to work on this game because they could not give the public what they wanted with GW1 game engine. I have seen the whine of the look of the toon, remember you can make your toon look like you wish and they have a nice deep list of races. No healers in this verison, so you have already improved the gaming experence. I will not have to wait a year and a day to get a healer and hope they are good, those that play the clas will no longer have to thus spending hours of looking at health bars instead of the game. There is no way a game can make all happy, but lets look deeply here they have covered a hugh group of gamers with what they are at just for lauch. I will say this again, open world PvP leads to bad gaming for many, human nature and the bully that gets bored and goes about in a perma red state ruining the game for others. I have seen WvW maps and play thru with tournment as well, you can have PvP from day/hour 1, unlike alot of open worlds that you have to grind to play and if you have a life outside of game would mean months of trying to find level areas where you can level before someone that has no resposibilities comes along maxed out and kills you with a laugh haha. I have heard here mention of Tera, nothing to do at the moment so I took advantage of Tera beta weekend. Petty game, but very classic Asain grinder trust me with each level more and more collection run here and there, stay withiin map Z and Oboy finally I can go to next  block of map. I think if you are drawn to complain you can find something wrong withanything. I have seen to date nothing about GW2 I do not like, I look forward to my first hands on Event weekend this weekend. They have fixed with GW2 the few things I felt I was driven away from GW1, they are going to finally I hope give us world level AI that will switch up depending on player and things going on. In the end what has been annouced is what they can give and I find the list really worth the pre-order I did for both myself and my husband. But if you do not like it, feel free to move along to something else :-P

I have played so many games now with open PvP you can usually break down and group of less than 100 that stay up for days and nights, and or get bored and turn there toon perma red. But the open model allows for them to do his and ruin game and run off new players that can not even get their levels up to PvP. GW2 is giving a even field to their character, but if anyone thinks that will make them win more or pvp with ease they are wrong.  Skills, and how they work, the as call uber players will understand their skills, and move. The days of standing there in the best armor with character you and a group of friends red bulled to max everything does not work here. I think that is where the whining about PvP is truely coming from. This is not a game for 1st place to last all get a blue ribbon. It is about creating a world that all players can enjoy. If you got bullied today, had a fight with you parents a bad day at work this game does not allow you to come home and take it out on someone from behind your computer screen. In the end, you do not hve to pay it if you do not like the model. But I will say this, it is about time that we see a game that allows you to enjoy all of it content no mater what your game style is, what you feel like today. I like the fact we will have WvW and that it has PvE there, I also like that if I am in a PVP mood I can jump into the PvP grounds and just do that. But th rich PvE game will be there for me when I want that as well. In the end if you do not like what you re reading go play the same old platform that are two faction, deal with open Pvp as they give you. No one has to play GW2,but until GW2 everyone had to deal with the old platforms there was little choice.

Agreed the Elyos get over made because it is assumed that sun means good. It is the Balor that are the evil. Actually the Elyos storyline wise have a Nobilty point of veiw because they got the sun side when the planet was torn apart. The Asmodians are the survivors they managed to adapt and survive. ;-P

I think the key point here is, that it is just like or lack of this.  They have been on this game for years now and when the grind games where killing so many they stayed with that line of thought. Yes it still to some degree makes for good gaming in Asian markets, but we are seeing big fails everywhere else. I guess we have to hope some day the asians will get tired of kill 10-1000 questing to see major growth from their game devs.
