Yeah, world vs. world sounds awesome! I mean, if you like the idea of herding cats, which is basically what large scale PvP like this winds up being. Anything over 100 people just winds up being mass chaos (and even 100 people is pushing it most of the time).

Do we actually have to tell people why the Empire is evil? They kill people (ENTIRE PLANETS, even) on a whim, they squash the ideas of freedom, and they are all about racial purity (hence, the enslavement of many non-human races.) And the article that was previously posted was severly flawed in that FIRST OFF he sites shit from the prequels (which are just flawed from the get go) and second, the stuff that he does point out from the prequels was all stuff that was manipulated BY THE SITH! Amidala, for instance, was being 'mind tricked' by Palpatine. This is what causes him to get voted in as chancelor. Just about everything he mentioned in the article happened due to Sith manipulation. And when someone starts off an article by saying 'Hey, I have only seen the movies, I don't know the rest of the universe,' then that person is basically saying that they don't know the story. There is stuff outside of the movies that is considered canon (like ALL of the games. They don't get the LucasArts seal on them if they are not signed off on by Lucas.) I mean, dude even says "The Empire has virtually no effect on the daily life of the average, law-abiding citizen."  Well, let's tell that to all the people on Kashyyk! THEY ENSLAVED THE FREAKIN WOOKIES (and, on a much lesser note, probably the Gungans, too) And he tries to tell us how great it is that Captain Piet advances through the ranks. Yeah, because VADER KILLED HIS PREDECESSOR FOR A MISTAKE!

My only hope is that the articles author wrote this as a lark or something. This is the most dangerous kind of writting, as it convinces simple people through a little sleight of hand and trickery that evil is not nescessarily evil, it's just misunderstood.

I think WoW keeps getting people back into WoW by coming out with new content in the expansion packs. I know I have gotten sucked back in twice by the expansions and quickly gotten bored with them. So, by keeping people coming back with new content, what more do they have to explore in the Warcraft universe? Arthas was the end all-be all in Warcraft. He's in this expansion. So what next? I mean, it doesn't matter to me. I won't be going back to play the game again. But what more can they possibly come out with to sucker people back into playing that will keep them on top in 3 years?

I can remember playing through the entire weekend with my buddies over at my house, leveling my elf assassin. I remember the first time I saw her poison spell go off and not knowing it was my spell that was causing the purple skulls to fly up from the ground like that and asking "Who the f#$% did that?" I remember being just quick enough with that spell to get the Aelfborn theif with it before he could vanish and ganking his ass. And waiting around for that dude to respawn so I could get my bounty hunter rune.

MAN, I wish this game had had more to it in end game then GvG battles. Of course, GvG was kinda boring on my server because almost everything belonged to Deathshead Legion. You can only get your ass kicked so many times before it just gets old.

Well said, Haggus. People in the MMO world of choice are supposed to be the heros. And to all you people out there hating on Jedi, maybe you should look in to Stargate or Star Trek for your MMO choice. Smugglers and bounty hunters are not what makes Star Wars unique. It is the Jedi. That is what people want to play as.

There was a game that was supposed to be coming out a couple of years back and I don't remember if it was cancelled or what and unfortunately can't remember the name of it...

So, with the vague amount of information I have, does anyone remember an MMORPG that was supposed to come out several years ago (I think around the time of Asheron's Call 2's launch) where you were playing a god? I know it's very vague and I appologise, but I can't think of the damn name of the game and just want to know. Thanks :)

Ummm..I think he is looking for other people's opinions on what they think of the game past level 4. He probably just bought the game because it looked cool. Everybody is guilty of doing that every now and again.

That being said, the game sucks no matter what level you are playing. My opinion. Others will disagree with me (most of whom are probably just not willing to admit that they have wasted time and/or money on this game so will continue throwing good money after bad to convince themselves that this game is good) but, that is why it is called an opinion. Are you sure you were playing Tabula Rasa and not some other game that was good? The graphics were OK, but nothing to write home about. I personally think the graphics in City of Heroes/Villans are better. And unless they completely changed something in Charachter creation in the past couple of weeks, you can't really pick anything except your charachters look and occupation, which doesn't really do much. What am I missing here? Oh, and how do you delete the stinking Tabula Rasa installer off your computer? It just keeps coming back!!

If it's in closed beta, it should not have those icons and should be under development status not beta, like the rest of the games...
If they can't even be bothered by putting correct info according to a site's listing practices, then i have little to no hope in that company.

They have the exact same symbol next to Age of Conan and list the release date as 3/28/08. Thus, this only shows that the game is to be released as a retail disk and that it will be pay to play. Other games are not listed as such as the information has not been released yet as to what will be done with them. Payment plans are usually finalized just before the game is released.

Funny thing is, if you hover over the green arrow to the left, you will plainly see that it says "Beta Testing" next to God's and Heroes.

Yeah. It really is. I don't see this game being ready for release in a month and a half, either.

Perhaps it was just my server.  And also I played WoW for only about a year after it came out, things may have changed.  But believe you me, I was human and was waaaaaaaaaay out numbered by orcs.

With the introduction of the Blood Elves, the tide has turned on the PvP servers, and the Horde actually outnumbers the Alliance by a ratio of 1.2:1. Go figure.

lets face it people, if it's bad - it's popular.  That's because most people aren't that smart. Sad, but true.

There is a lot of people out there playing a lot of great games that are not WoW.  Personally I'm having the gaming time of my live with civ 4, and then I'll be playing HG:L.  People that are playing WoW are missing out on some great gaming.

In most things in life I use popularity to guide me, as to what not to do.  What TV not to watch, what music not to listen to.  Gaming has finally caught up to the other entertainment industries.

 

But,  I digress. you are correct in one regard. just because something is popular, that does not make it good. HOWEVER, it does not automatically make it bad, either.

According to the Mayan calander, we have until Dec. 21 of 2012, so we will have about a year to play it. Of course, it's WoD, so maybe we'll get lucky and the game will get delayed or the Mayan's will be a little bit off.

Umm...if you have played all of those games and are tired of them, either you don't like MMO's or you don't like fantasy. Don't know what to tell you dude. Play Diablo? You can try Dark Age of Camelot, I guess.

City of Heros and City of Villains look to be about the only ones you haven't tried. They are good or about 2 or 3 months, then they get kinda old. Give them a shot.

Totally agree. If only it comes out, it will be awesome. But, as someone who has been waiting for this game for years, I'm not holding my breath.

I disagree.  The ability to solo play was a new feature, when compared to the WoW of that time, EQ.  The 2nd generation MMORPGs, AO, DAOC learned from AC that they had better make solo content with their game or they'd miss out on an influential and sizable market segment.  Granted, solo play is not innovative, but it did influence other games by adding a content element that wasn't present in EQ, the reigning king of MMORPGs at the time. 

 

I will say AC's 3rd person camera views were innovative and superior to what the market offered.  So much so, that AO changed their camera views after release after players clamored for a camera view like AC.

AC had a lot to offer that wasn't recognized then and, obviously, now.  I stand by my opinion.

I concur, sir. AC was also more skill based then it was level base, which was the first game to do that as far as I can remember.
