If you are into crafting, stay way away from WAR.I suggest EQ2,Vanguard,EVE, or Pirates of the Burning Sea for crafting.

wow people on these forums are so incredibly stupid it's insane.Seriously, what's Smikis' IQ?40?too little too late?the game's been out like, less then 2 weeks. The game's state in closed beta is irrelevent. The point of beta is to make sure the released product is good.Christ, every thread I read has someone say something that's so outrageously stupid, I'm baffled.Eaither this forum is filled with 10 year olds, or it's filled with mentally challenged people, cause no normal person can be THAT dumb.Thank god these forums don't represent more then 1% of the mmo population.

Shadow warriors mirror is squig herder, it's been said many times. That site that combined SH and WL even said they werent mirrors, they just combined them cause they both had pets.Marauders mirror is white lion.Look at the mastery trees and the classes functions. It's obvious wl/marauder are mirrors, and SH/SW are.Look at their roles too.Ranged/skirmishers and malee dpsers. It's amazing how people can argue without even reading the facts first.

Also, you might wanna wait til more then a few hours into the game before complaining about class imbalance.

I'd rather play an mmo from day 1, even if it is a little unpolished/not finished, because IMHO it's fun to keep up with the initial wave of players and experience a new game with everyone else. Also, as I level up, it will be populated highly in all the areas I play, and a high populated mmo is very important for me, especially a game like WAR.

if only the game was a big seamless world eather then a big instance.hardly even a mmo.More like guild wars.I wanna explore the seas and islands and stuff and fight in open water not instances.its a shame cause the game is fun otherwise. If only it was seamless.....

im ganna be a goblin shaman def.The greenskin/dwarf conflict seems the most well done and fun. Also they are farthest from human as possible, and who wants to be a human in a fantasy game?starting area just seems fun too.

i see 0 evidence that even if DF did come out, that somehow magically this small indie company would make a game with all these features and make it work, considering giant companies with millions spent cant do it.Its just illogical to think darkfall will succeed or even come out anyrtime soon.

If you like RPing and doing story driven quests for xp, then Lotro seems the best out there. It's got a continuing story with many chapters and "books" that are released regularly that continue the story.Through out the game even at max level these quests help you advance the story and offer good rewards and cutcenes at the end of each book.Only 7 classes tho and 4 races and the classes dont really have any big extravagent spells and abilities.Combat is a little slow paced and nothing really special about it.You can use deeds/traits system to make your class specialize in differant things altho they wont chnage too much. The whole game is just very quest/story driven, and if that's what you want, Lotro is the perfect mmo for you.

WoW is another great game despite the random trolls on these forums.Lots of lore and quests to do.Good pvp and decent, altho a bit shallow crafting.9 classes and 10 races and the classes can do very differant roles depending on the talents you choose.Combat is fun and there are a lot of fun abilities and instant abilities, so it makes combat fast paced and feels as if you really have a lot of control over your character.

WoW and Lotro seem the 2 best mmos out at the moment and the most polished.EQ2 is pretty decent too but its not of the same quality as lotro and wow.Vanguard is decent now but not much real backstory/lore, just random quests and a poor attempt at trying to tie some of them together.Big world tho and crafting is good and lots of choices between races and classes.Combat is also fun.

I just hope its not all "instanced missions" like in CoX.I want to beam down to planets and actually explore and see other players there, and not just see a little instanced mission area like the missions in CoX.I have a feeling that's what they will do tho, which is too bad. Would be cool if there was pvp, and you could be Romulans and Cardassians etc. but thats asking for too much I guess.I hope you can at least explore the inside of your ship and other planets/space stations and design the look of your ship and upgrade it.Anyways, despite my predictions, I'm looking forward to this game big time.

for under 100$ you could get another 1gig of ram and a video card capable of playing wow just fine.even if ur only using the comp temporarily, still may be useful to make the one ur using more usable for ther future.always nice having a backup comp.

@ the person with the rig above: open beta currently does not support more then 1 core processor, meaning you have 1 processor at less then 3 ghz speed, which is really bad.despite your sli gpu setup and ram and hd, your processor is a serious bottleneck. Also, sli in open beta doenst seem to work well. This will change at release, giving you consider frame rate boost. Also may want to dedrag hd and make sure drivers are all updated.A lot of performance issues seem to be like this.I play on low settings myself and get playable fps and my comp is about half as good as yours.

AMD 64 3500+ 2 gigs of RAM 7800 GS Overclocked(its an AGP card lol, but the best one or close to it and overclocked pretty well) Ya, my comp is like 4 years old, but i upgraded to this 7800 gs a little while ago.Every mmo out there I play on high settings ATM, and play oblivion on high settings as well.I also disable everything non vital in background while playing.Think I could play at lower medium range?I think so, but just curious. After I get my tax refund from that Bush economy plan, I plan on buying a new comp anyways.Maybe make a down payment then monthly payments and buy a 2.4k dollar rig.Already got a 24" widescreen so I can spend all on just the comp.

RAM speed is a little slow too.And I agree, quad core procs are not worth it for gaming.I dont think a single game out there takes advantage of all 4 cores.A lot of games dont even take use of more then 1.Get a dual core with high speeds rather then quad with low speeds on each core. Also, the GPU isnt that bad, but if you can get better, or save money and upgrade to a 9 series in a couple months when price goes down. Your comp will run AoC well, on high settings, but not maxed out with high fps, esp when lots of people are on screen.Like I said tho, dual core with higher speeds then ur quad will run AoC better, and if you can save a little money on a 9800 GPU, do it.Then you will run it prolly maxed out.

Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights 2, and The Witcher are what I've played in the past. I also play a web based text based turn based strategy game called The Reincarnation(a remake of Archmage).Get a turn every 5 or 7 mins dependong on server with a max of 200 turns at once.So you can only play maybe 15-30 mins a day depending on how many servers you play on.Great fun game tho and very challenging and takes a lot of strategy.Online game where you manage your kingdom and attack other players to take some of their land.Pretty hardcore pvp based game. Not for everyone of course since its slow paced due to the fact you can only play about every 16-24 hours so it's more of a side game you play. Also its all text based and has a steep learnign curve and requires lots of thinking/strategy.Still tho, it can be very addictive and fun and very rewarding when you do well, and very frustrating when you get raped overnight and log in with half your land gone :P Sorry for the shameless advertisement of the game lol, just thought I'd share it as its not very well known. www.the-reincarnation.com
