lol you mentioned some random list on mmorpg as proof that it's a bad game? That list was a joke, it had vanguard on it and club penguin.

nows a good time to play.the best would be after cataclysm but thats a year away.Theres a decent amount of lower level peole still esp if you play on a high pop server.I suggest rolling a hydrid, like a druid or paladin or shaman. That way when you dual spec, you can dps and still beable to be a main healer or tank, which means you can solo well and still find groups easy.A healer or tank has a much higher chance of getting groups then dps.I suggest you get cartographer and quest helper mods, it'll make questing easier.

pick a fury.seems to fit the best with your group as they can port people around which is a huge time saver and they have run speed buffs as well. They can also dps better then other healers, which will be great when you guys are questing together. They can heal just fine too.

what's with the random trolls saying cataclysm is nothing but rehashed content?the old world from 1-60 zones are being redone a lot some zones being made a LOT different. And the rehashing of the old world is going to be a patch free for everyone wether or not you buy the xpack. The xpack will feature 5 new levels and new abilities, a new advancement system and a new profession open world pvp zone and battlegrounds. It will also feature completely new zones to level you to 85 as well as 2 new races and starting areas for them.It will also have more end game 5 mans and raids then the other xpacks had at release. Maybe you should read about it first before spewing nonsense. This xpack, like all wow xpacks will be larger then the average MMO xpack.

The amount of new content in this xpack is going to be insane and it will keep it fresh for everyone and encourage people to re roll and therefor give a much better new player experience. Most MMOs that are 6 years old (wow will be when xpack comes out) have barren lower level populations which makes new players not want to join the game. This expansion will breath new life into the game and keep it popular for a long time to come, with new players continually joining the game.Better then just adding new continents and 10 new levels every time, making more and more of the world's content unused and widening the gap even more between the new players and the older ones.

check out cyberpowerpc.com if you wanna choose your own parts and have them put it together.i built a great core i7 system early this year and can run any game out there on max pretty much with a ton of upgradability. a 2k budget is more then enough.research a lot first though if you're ganna spend all that money.

you want a casual but complex game like eq or ff11?ya, good luck. Also, the average person doesnt work 13 hours a day.find another job for the love of god.

maybe vanguard?or eq2?

Lord of the Rings Online has housing. It's instanced but the instances are called neighborhoods and have a bunch of houses in each one and the area they are in look really nice. Each race has their own differant looking houses and neighborhood environments.Theres lots of decorations too and you can even decorate the outside and pick a music theme to play when you go into the house.

There's character customization in the form of deed/trait system.I'm sure you've already looked into the game but in case you haven't, you should try the free trial and look info about the game up.LotRO also has some great roleplaying possibilities like the casual equipment that can be toggled on and off to show instead of your stat gear and also the music system, where you can actually play music using the numbers on your key board. The world is seamless like WoW too, and looks great. The deed/trait system also encouraged exploring.

runes of magic isnt anywhere near the same level as wow.Anyways, try the trial from fileplanet or get a buddy pass. Why would you base your decision to try a free trial on an mmo forum notorious for being hugely bias one way or the other? Not that hard to download the game and play for free to see if you like it.

Its not too late.I started playing WotLK a few weeks ago and it's very fun.Of course, I was level 70 when I started but still.I see people LFG at all level ranges.I easily found groups for the 70-78 level instances in WotLK.I see lots of people in there 70's running around and questing. And once you hit 80, it will be very easy to get groups, as people are LFG constantly.Wintergrasp and battlegrounds are active too, and can help gear you for heroics.Level 1-70 has been sped up, so it won't take as long now to get to Northrend.Yes 1-70 will be mostly solo, but even then, you'll come across other people and group from time to time.Theres plenty of people running around the old capitol cities too, especially Ironforge, Stormwind and Orgrimmar, so the old world won't feel like a barren wasteland.

Another option would be to play Aion, and then switch to WoW when the 3rd expansion comes out.The expansion is re-doing the zones from level 1-60 and offering 2 new races as well as new class and race combinations. When that expansion(Cataclysm) arrives, leveling from 1-85 will be much more fun as there will be tons of people leveling a new character and the old zones will be better designed as well.

free realms or wow.I'd go for wow as it's more fun and has a cooler setting and is bigger. Not sure how much he'd like free realms' combat tho, as the game sometimes seems like it's made for little girls.Let him try both there are free trials so won't cost anything to try.WoW has a language filter btw.Everything he reads in the chat channels is prolly something he and his friends say daily anyways.Just part of reality.

wow and I thought I was a nerd.

i hate not being able to jump.Annoying as hell having to walk around a fenced area for example.plus i jump for the hell of it sometimes. If you cant jump, then usually there is only a set path you can go on like guild wars, which sucks and feels less like an open world.

Ya wow and I was excited about Aion.Screw that game, I'm looking forward to FF14 more then any other mmo.SW:TOR and unnamed blizzard mmo might be interesting too tho.

kinda BS that there is no appeals process considering the game costs money. Not that hard to be wrong, especially with an amateur team on a shoestring budget.

lol this guy is totally clueless on how to review a game.So much in fact, that he copied gamespot.com's  WoW review and replaced wow with PWI.Anything original he said was poorly worded and/or made no sense or wasn't true.

if you have the 4870 then 70 bucks for a minor increase isnt worth it imho.the core 216 seems bad at AOC tho for some reason. Not sure if I trust these benchmarks.I get better fps with the core 216 on higher settings even. What driver was he using to test?

EQ2 when it first came out.It was my first mmo and one of the first games I played on my new computer I had bought.I finally could play games on the pc as before that I had crap for a pc.Always wanted to play eq1 but couldnt so played eq2 and it was really cool back in the day and as a first mmo.Getting off the newbie island and seeing qeynos it looked really great for a game in 2004.Remember farming giants with a group for the first time it was amazing seeing those huge guys fall.I remember getting to level 20, which at the time was actually an accomplishment and getting my last name, a fun spell, and a new fire pet(I was a conjuror). The game was really good back then as you actually grouped outside of instances just to hunt mobs.Learning new languages and gaining access to new areas was cool too.The game was a mystery to me then and there were many hidden areas to discover and named mobs to kill.Really enjoyed it back then. It's just not the same anymore.

WOW back pre TBC getting to level 60 and finally able to raid.Clearing Molten Core for the first time, getting my first epic t1 piece, killing onyxia and getting my first t2,Moonkin form when it first came out was hilarious and fun, farming ZG and staying up all night trying to get my ZG set pieces,TBC on launch day and seeing outlands for the first time and the new items.I miss old WOW, altho it's not a bad game now eaither.

AOC on launch day.Back then I still had my old gaming computer and it was really showing it'a age.Had to play it on lowest setting. Was still awsome tho, at least up to level 20.One of the best noob experiences in any mmo IMHO.Tortage was awsome.

try loremaster. They kill decently fast and can handle many mobs at once and handle really tough mobs. They can really get out of a lot of tough situations because of their cc/pets/heals.Plus they are fun to play.

Bought a core i7 comp recently.price went down a lot since it first came out in november 2008.dont buy the 940.the 920 is like 2.4 ghz slower only but is about half the price.got the upper mid range gigabyte MB and 6 gigs ddr3 ram.the ram went way down in price since it came out .If you're buying a new comp a core i7 might be worth it to you as it will last you well into the future and since its at the beginning it's life cycle, it will be upgradable well into the future as well.

Fairly good time to buy a comp actually as video cards are cheap as hell now too since ATI and Nvidia are really going at it.for about 180 dollars you can get a gtx 260 core 216 or a 4870, and they can max pretty much anything out.I can play crysis at all very high settings and 1920X1200 resolution.Havent seen GPUs this cheap in a long time.

I would say minstrel and warden would be great or warden/captain or warden/runekeeper.Warden can tank and one of you can be the healer/buffs/dps.Wardens can also give run speed buffs and fast travel.
