Darkfall has yet to beat CCP,  December 2007 CCP released the trinity patch and if you had installed Eve on you windows drive then it deleted your boot.ini file

do you live under a bridge perhaps or you must be smoking some pretty good chronic cos you are talking shit.  Eve has been around for 5 + years, has recently broken the 50 000 users at once online.  Eve is a niche game and its been going strong and constantly evolving, so either ccp lied to me or you are full of shit and need to re think your statements? what will it be?

RPG combat sucks and EVE is one of the worst offenders.  Probably the shittiest RPG combat I've ever seen in my life.  SWG's Jump to Lightspeed puts it to shame.

At any rate, you're the biggest carebear of all.  You're a carebear because you play RPGs for PvP combat when RPG combat is probably the least player skill intensive form of PvP across all genres.  If you want real PvP quit half assing it and sub to PlanetSide.

And as far as RPG PvP goes Guild Wars is the best.  By a long shot.

imo consentual / (controled eg: deuling system) pvp with no full loot is pointless so I guess we have a different definition of "good" pvp.

depends what you want? You want a non consentual full looting game where you can KILL (I hate the term pk its so lame!) anyone you want anytime?  Then I would recomend eve, I also heard ultima online supports that (correct me if I am wrong).

Be warned though eve combat isnt instant gratification and is very strategic so long waiting periods are also possable. Otherwise I have no other suggestions.

theres also a consentual carebear mode pvp.... once the duel is requested and accepted.... a clear-cage will cover you and your oponent prtecting u from any ebil pvers. once the duel is finish.... it will anounce who win and who lose near the chat window for everyone to see and to extend your carebear epeen.

 

 

down side:

Mo Siang is a malaysia version but in english. USA and else where players suffer from connection lagg due to server from malaysia over sea.  sound effect delay, movement delay, hp bar damage delay ect.... grind fest, do same old moves/skill millions of time just to level it up.... but the topic is only for its pvp feature.

Lol some of these hate filled carebear replies :). Chaps you are way off the mark here, we arent the mentally challended teenagers that you beleive us to be. The average eve player is over 30 years old. I myself am almost 30 (mid life crises :( ). I am a really nice guy IRL never get in fights, usually polite etc.

You forget 1 thing: ITS A GAME lol just because we blow up defensless ships for fun doesnt mean we are ass hats irl please learn to seperate rl from game life. Personally I blow up ships for shits and gigglesI like the pretty explosions and its like christmass when you loot the wreck cos you never know what you going to find.

So dear carebears: Learn to accept your loss like a man move on and enjoy the game :) (ive been blown countless times haha)

I somehow doubt darkfall will be realesed soon (although I sincerly hope I am wrong) but I still voted for it.  Open ended pvp games ftw. All the other (consentual pvp) games are just clones of other games yet presented in a different fashion I m o.  Otherwise il just stick to Eve its kept me 2 years and I still see another couple years of fun :)

Its a game where you can you can do what you want with no limitations, which brings out the worst in most of us . Although thankfully not everyone is like that.

Eve isnt totally open pvp. The high sec space is safe. And it isn't really full looting since you have insurance and clones

 

 

ROFL!!! please tell that too the 200 odd Exhumers that goons suicided in empire aka your "safe space", its not safe it just safer cos the police shoot you if you shoot someone else which is what I expect darkfall to have.  The only place you are safe in EvE is docked in a station otherwise you are fair game.

Nice review I liked it, you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Also "if you arent my friend you are my income"  that made me chuckle and its sooooo true. Oh yeah and regarding our (EVE) forums if you follow the following rules you will find your experience with us EVE players is much more pleasant.

1. DONT EVER post or read CAOD (Corporation, Alliance and Organization Discussions) this is mostly used to trash talk your enemies or for Propaganda.

2. Don't whine on our forums, most of the time they get answered woth "can I have your stuff" and get very heavily flamed :P, well written and  toaught out posts hardly ever get trolled or derailed (exept on caod of course :P)

yeah Lag sucks  in big fleet battles but tbh show me a game that can handle 400 vs 400 (not to mention the additional npcs (omgwtf where is my ship fighter swarms)  usually numbering easily 100 NPC fighters which are controlled by Capital class Carriers or motherships.

Otherwise a nice unbiased review, btw if you wish to ecplore more of the game I am part of a 0.0 alliance I can show you how it is to build your own home and defend it (or burn down someone else home)

Eve is a sandbox mmorpg and it is succsessfull, not the same as Wow though it doesnt have millions of subscribers but it has enough to enable the Company to grow and to keep on improving on the game, I mean Eve is 5 years old now and showing no signs of dieing off, on the contrary there is alot of new stuff I am looking forward to.  So it IS possable to make such a game and be successfull.

Some people like PVE Grindfests and some prefer to butcher each other online different strokes ... you know, dont see the need for a 7 page flame fest haha.

What i look forward to in Eve is when they merge the Chinese server with Tranquility, i suppose we have to wait until the hardware can support such a merge, but the net result will be awesome.

 

I highly doubt tranquility and Serenity will merge, unless of course CCP rename the gallante federation and remove democracy from the game, or the Chinese goverment allows the idea of democracy and Gallante back onto Serenity. :P
