Did they adjust how slow combat is in the beginning?

I'm sticking with Aion right now, the world  design is changing with 3.0 it will be very open, and most of the bounderies will be removed, and free form flight will be in. Yay.

We barely know ANYTHING about T.E.R.A and so far in all of the trailers the characters all look the same for each class/race/whatever, and we don't know how open and non-restrictive the world really is, even if it doesn't look like it in the videos.

Very exciting stuff indeed.

  • Major Graphics Overhaul: DX10 included
  • Player Housing
  • Combat Revamp: The game will play out more like an action game (think Blade & Soul)
  • Weather System Revamp
  • Swimming
  • Under Water Environments: Players will be able to explore new under water cities, dungeons, and quest hubs
  • User Generated Content Expanded: Players will be able to post writs on boards through out the world.
  • Quest System revamp:  Many, many, many more quests and story-line quests are being added
  • New Classes (Supposedly, according to the Korean forums)
  • 2 new weapon types: Whip & Crossbow
  • New Skills for every class
  • New Zones
  • New Monster and NPC AI Revamp
  • Mounts: You can tame your own mount out of various creatures in Atreia, one of which is a Chocobo-Esque bird, you also will be able to ride with 2 people on some mounts!
  • Revamped Sieges
  • Probably many more things (Have to wait til all of it is translated from the Korean forums)

These are the features that so far have been translated from the Korean forums.

When all that was shown in the video gets put into the game (the way it is represented and expected, not half-arsed), almost all the bots and gold spammers are gone (I can forgive a few here and there, every game has them), the crippling latency issues are gone (for many people packet loss and poor routing is still an issue that makes Aion unplayable), and the game is no longer a grind-fest (yes it is)... THEN come back here and gloat about how awesome Aion is now.

Don't get me wrong, I had a good time in Aion for about a month, but the game is on rails, it is totally grindy, and feels closed off... It's just not something that I would sub to right now. The video does make the upcoming supposed additions look awesome though. I hope they pull it off...

it'll be even more open with this update.

Combat revamp, world design revamp, graphics overhaul..omg.

HOLY Sh*t!!!!!!!!!! Ahahaha! This deserves to be posted as front page news on this website.

People just need to accept that this is the direction MMORPG's are going in. Every game that copies the traditional MMO method fails. That's because people want some depth, they want their game to be epic, they want to make choices and make a difference in their story. That's what SW:TOR offers, the innovations it provides are going to bleed into other games, and it will be the next step. It will do well, but say it didn't, that won't stop the fact that what it offers is going to be emulated by other games.

Well I will start off by saying obviously it will take time for just 2 of you, BUT do not let that get you down, and do not let anyone that may say you're in over your head get you down. There is an MMO coming out next year I believe that was done by 1 man alone, I think the project name is LOVE and it was shown at E3 and other gaming conventions and is quite gorgeous and looks very interesting, so it is definitely possible, it just gets down to how passionate you are about your project.

I would definitely agree with some others here that you need to flesh out your mechanics, story, and all of that good stuff really, really well before you undertake the physical development of the title. Upcoming MMO's are very focused on story-telling and character development far more than games that are out right now so keep that in mind.

With that said, I wish you the best of luck and take your time!

I've never encountered any problems playing Dragon Age. Ever.

As far as RMT goes, the only RMT I can foresee them using is the DLC system to some degree. Which I wont mind since its only like 7 dollars.

I love the game, but it's depressing in the end especially for females. I really think they could of done a better job giving us some better options and alternatives to the situation.

TSW Still has to go through closed beta, and I'm a little excited to see what the game is like

I am subscribed to Age of Conan, and honestly think its the  best MMO for story and world/character depth aside from possibly LOTRO.

Wiccana is very very  populated.

I happen to like Britney Spears.

And it's nice that Aion is so successful, infact it's the first game in the last couple of years to sustain large amount of its playerbase after launch.

this game is amazzinnnggg

Cept 1 of the guys is wearing pants/boots that look like level 1 material :P

Aion's XP curve

The XP curve is going to recieve a major overhaul soon. Both quests and mob XP will be increased by a huge amount post 30.

I'm sure there will be more than 3 races, they will probably wait until the game is closer to testing to release more information.

They are both competent, and have been in the industry for a long time, and know how to do those jobs. So I see it as a good thing and it should definitely get this game out there more.

I have a feeling this will work similarly to Age of Conan's system where it's probably primarily account based, and now a vet system.

Actually it depends on what side you play. The Elyos have more quests than Asmodian's do (I don't know why, they just do.) And they also don't have the mob timers that Asmodian's have. I'm currently in my 20s on my Asmodian and I still have quite a few quests to do, but there are definitely alot less than Elyos, we will probably see new quests and such in an update.
