I think that you are just disappointed that you didn't get it first, correct? I can agree that I'm a little hurt that they didn't decide to give us first dibs, but I'll live. |

I wouldn't call EVE a failure. It was ade by a then-small company. Look at it now. |

Disappointed in the "Open Beta" title for Spellborn
General Discussion « The Chronicles of Spellborn 3/24/09 6:55:12 AM
It's called development, dude. People need money to afford things like food. Quit whining. I don't know if you realized this, but they are not forcing you to pay. If you think it's worth the money, you can do it, but if not, than don't. Don't be so upset that you can't get CoS AND that big lollipop you saw in the candy store. These are called descisions. Big kids have to make these sometimes. |

I wouldn't call it a scam. At least they're still working on it. If they ran off, then I would consider it a scam. Right now it's just a bad marketing choice. |

I would really appreciate this art style if it wasn't near-identical to the look of WoW. Just a little less colorful. That's my opinion anyway. |

Hero's that look like they were made in the 50's make me squeal in delight. |

They were having a little trouble with engrish. :P I remember trying this game a few years ago. It was better than a bunch of the other grinding games I played, but is still solely about grinding. |

I just got it an I say i can't even play it for more than 5 seconds without being disappointed. To me it seems EXACTLY like wow, but with more dull and less graphically interesting landscapes and a VERY limited number of classes/races/customization. The combat's BORING to all belief and the quests are pretty much generic. The interface is incredibly similar to WoW in a lot of ways. This is too bland and boring to gain my respect as a pay to play game. |

Is PC gaming going away over time?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/05/08 8:53:21 AM
PC gaming, as un-mainstream as it is, will go down VERY slowly and while putting up a fight. I personally think it's going to become more popular in the next few years. PCs have many many more options and can sometimes run even better than consoles. Not to mention a lot of more innovative games are made on PCs than consoles. So in my opinion it (being the death of PC gaming) will either happen very slowly, or go in the opposite direction. |

Citadel of Sorcery: An Introduction to CoS: Part One

With five years of development, maybe this is possible. Maybe. There are a lot of things that I kinda doubt you can do at this point in our technological history. The thing that bothers me, though, is that this sounds a lot like a good single player experience. If this is an MMO, what's the point to having all this stuff if friends, parties, guilds and the such are not included? Yeah, that's great that you can take control of a town and command it's forces, but why you? Why couldn't someone else do the same thing? Would you still be able to take control? You shouldn't, but it takes away from the fun if you can't at the same time. That's a problem. If every event is instanced just for you, that takes away from the fun of the multiplayer experience. I'm interested to see where this turns up, though. Even if it doesn't succeed (and you guys honestly mean it when you say your engine can do all this stuff) then at the very least other companies can use the engine and improve on what you guys have. That's if you don't succeed, though. I'm saying you won't. I'm interested to see where this game is going. |

EvE Online Killer? --Please make it so!!!
General Discussion « Pirates of the Burning Sea 6/02/07 2:51:58 AM
Welllll, this argument in the first place doesn't make much sense. It's just turned into everyone bashing other games. EVE combat can get intense with large groups of people and things that involve strategy (like a disruptor of some shape or form). Unfortunately this comes later so most people give up on it early. The game itself is not about combat and people should respect that. PotBS looks to be NOTHING like this at all. In fact the only similarity I can see is that they both use "ships". PotBS combat is more intense all the time because you control where you ship moves with the WASD controls. This allows for tighter steering and all that good stuff. Also, it in cludes strategy because of the wind and how you have to broad-side them to hit. Let people like what they like and stop insulting other games. To each his own.
