Something like this happened last month as well. Someone tried to buy groceries with one. It seems that there is someone making a lot of these fake million dollar bills. The image is actually from a one thousand dollar bill, which isn't made anymore.

Like anyone had to guess, Daron has surfaced with a statement today as posted by a mod over a ST-O.net

http://www.startrek-online.net/messageboard/showthread.php?t=11414&page=9

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to step in and give everyone a quick update given all the rumors circulating. We are now in the process of finding a formal publisher for STO, which involves conversations with a variety of parties. We have been working on our business model for some time and once we establish a publisher, we will work with our new partner to communicate exactly what we are building - something I know all of you have been waiting a long time for.

There was also a report about PE liquidating our assets. That report relates to a transaction that took place a while back. And while I can't go into details right now, I want to assure the community that the entire Star Trek team is still here working hard and eagerly anticipating our chance to finally share our big plans.

Thanks, and hang-tight.

- Daron

Why is he relaying messages through a mod on a third party fansite?

This is how Perpetual disseminates their official word?

Why not just come out and make a public announcement?

ST-O.net is the unofficial forums until Perpetual makes their own. It is also the "preferred" website, so it gets all the news info first. I don't know why they just don't use StarTrek.com though.

I also don't like that he just posted an announcement to say that he will be making an announcement..

*edit*

Daron Stinnett has posted some more info in another thread. STO.net Link.

You guys are very charitable - thanks for the support. And I mean that. There are some really nasty and incorrect rumors circulating right now and while the support is obviously not unanimous, I was expecting much more piling-on in this thread than is the case.

I personally think that MMOs need to be a better deal. Paying $200/year is a good deal for some but I don't think that is sustainable for the category and certainly rules out a lot of people who don't have the time to get enough value out of that expense. So we are discussing this issue internally. Unfortunately that discussion leaked and the characterization is incorrect. It's also unfortunate that we have not yet come to conclusion internally so it is hard to present the real story since we are in the process of figuring it out.

But I do want to reassure everyone that STO is still going, it is still a triple-A game, and we are thinking hard about how to make our efforts even more appealing with a lower barrier to entry than is the norm.

Is there a way to be notified if comments have been posted to images that you have uploaded?

Also, I noticed that when uploading you can select a game from the drop down menu. What exactly does this do? It doesn't seem to put your image into the user screenshots for the game that you choose.

So I guess, if these don't already exist. My suggestions would be

1. Option to be notified of comments on your uploaded images.

2. Tie in your gallery images with the game that they correspond to. (would probably have to be manually verified though)

Gamespot just posted Dev Diary #4.

I've seen some of the footage before, but it has some info about the different creatures and the NPCs throughout Age of Conan. It explains some of the AI that they will have as well.

mmm... dual wield, burst dps, tearing cloth and leather apart. Me want.

We have something in common!

Although would be nice for them  (as a preferance) to do some priest classes sooner rather than later.

I'd like to see some more info on any of the caster types, but it seems like he will be doing the Rogue archetype next.

They were able to get it back up and running under 24 hours. That is a long downtime for Turbine standards. Especially considering that it was only scheduled for 6 hours of downtime for maintenance.

I heard he was in the hospital while watching the game Monday night. He was only 24 years old. He was shot in the leg, but I haven't seen much more then that. I think the police are still investigating what happened.

Questions by Cody "Micajah" Bye, Managing Editor
Answers by Jørgen Tharaldsen, Product Director for Funcom

The wait is over! The long weeks have finally passed by and your patience has been rewarded with another Age of Conan class interview! As I stated in the official Age of Conan forums, this class interview focuses on the last of the Soldier archetype classes, the Conqueror. With his ability to dual wield and call up Auras to buff himself and his allies, the Conqueror is the a formidable opponent on the battle field. In the exclusive article, Funcom's Jørgen Tharaldsen talks about the lore of the class, the Auras, the differences between the Soldier archetypes, and much more!

Editor's Note: Due to the holiday weekend (many of the Funcom employee's are American), we currently don't have any exclusive Conqueror screenshots to go with the article. We'll try to get this remedied, but it may or may not occur. With or without the images, please enjoy the article!

Ten Ton Hammer: When looking through the lore of Conan, he held many titles including being dubbed Conan the Conqueror. What sort of lore and story elements did you create to develop this class? How did you decide which skills they would use?

The Conqueror is a worthy adversary on the battlefield.

Jørgen Tharaldsen: Aye, I think that is one of the great things about King Conan, his diversity. He absolutely lived his life to the fullest and that diverse “bring it on” approach is definitively something we have tried to achieve with our classes too, including the Conqueror. I am not saying that you can become a conqueror, barbarian, thief, reaver, chieftain, corsair, mercenary, soldier and pirate through choosing just one class, though (unless you are a mighty fine roleplayer and pretending it up that is *winks*),  but rather that the Conqueror class in our game is also about diversity and choice.

When it comes to the lore background of the Conqueror, there are many references to this class inside the Hyborian universe, both on Conan, and others. I found this quote from our lore master inside a document, which says a lot I think:

“Conquerors were born on the blood soaked battlefield of Venariun when the finest soldiers of Aquilonia clashed with the Cimmerian hordes and the conquest of nations was at stake.”
General Pallantides of Aquilonia

Be sure to check out the link at top to get all the info on this dual-wielding Soldier class.

I don't think this means Perpetual Entertainment is going under. This is filed by an investor with regards to the October 10th. Which as we know is when Gods and Heroes was cancelled. I think this has more to do with the investor covering itself for the loss of a huge investment of this project, and not anything to do with the current projects going on.

But, I'm far from an expert on these reports. So until I see a statement by Perpetual Entertainment I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Definitely watch season 1 first. I think it's better then season 2 so far. Although, the last episode was pretty good, let's see if they can keep getting better in the last two episodes for this volume.

The writer's strike may make this season short for a lot of t.v. series.

Make sure you don't buy the U.S. or German version, as they are both censored. I got the U.K. version.

I have the U.S. version, what exactly was censored?

All the nudity was removed/covered up.

You could also try out Dance! Online. It's DDR meets Online Gaming. F2P with a money shop. You can play with keyboard or with dance pad. Something totally different at least.

They just announced that they are letting in everyone who has a stress test key. You don't have to make the level 5 limit.
