I heard there was a free trial implant that added +3 to all stats, and gave 20% to all turret effectiveness until your account was 35days old.
Any idea how to get this? |

Originally posted by Venomzer0 Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Starcraft 1, and Warcraft series. That "overly bulky childish" artstyle started with World of Warcraft. I even have the original game manuals with their art inside it they used to make those games, and NONE of it was like it is now.
So, I'll ask YOU if YOU have ever played any of Blizzard's games other than WoW & Starcraft 2? Obviously they've fired all of their "talent" and gone with some pretty piss poor art talent & graphical designers, because the direction they've gone since Diablo 2 is attrocious. |

So far, it looks like: Necro, Necro, Necro, Shaman.
Chose Shaman because of the (+)Energy & (+)20% Spell haste, and not to mention a Shaman does actually get group heals. However, I was wondering if pets are affected by group buffs &/or heals? |

Originally posted by kostoslav Mismanagement from the CEO, and they kept using some subsystem of the game that was vital for operation. However, that specific subsystem of the D&L servers was copyrighted by a developer they fired, and then continued to use that specific system without his approval. He went to court, sued the D&L company for using his precompiled copyrighted code & that was the drop in the bucket that killed the giant.
All in all, it was a fun game for what it was. HOWEVER, they lied to their customers at every step of the way to get their return in investment, and then ran off with it essentially leaving the game updateless. After about 3months of absolutely no proper updates being given everyone left. They TRIED to reboot D&L a year later with hardcore changes to the game, but they were too hardcore (ie: making it 3x harder to level, etc).
I played in Alpha, Beta, Open Beta, got a refund for my preorder and left before launch. It's not that I got burnt out, but I realized how badly the game was being mismanaged & that they were NOT listening to the horrible crys people were making about the engine that needed fixes badly, and how there was almost no content.
With all of that said, the game was purchased by a Korean company 2years ago, and is being redeveloped as "Savage Horizon" or something like that. I can't wait to see it come to NA again :)! |

I played SWTOR in Beta, didn't buy the game because I knew how bad it was, and then sat down for an hour on my nephew's account only to walk away shaking my head. The game, as stated by Theodwulf, is in-fact "cringe worthy". Granted I took the part about you talking about DIALOGUE being cringe worthy & ramped it up to be the ENTIRE game being cringe worthy, but you get my point I hope. |

Originally posted by iicogigen Curious, I see in your sig you're interested in 40k MMO, but that is literally another WoW-Clone according to their lead Developer that it's a "goal" of theirs to copy WoW as much as possible, but with a WAR 40k "skin".
What made you interested in TERA to begin with if you are interested in the 40k MMO? |

Originally posted by Beezerbeez Kind of hard to put together a group of 4 people (myself, and 3 friends who want to go back) when you don't know what any of the classes ACTUALLY do.
For instance, in EQ Clerics were better for a group that had a Warrior as the maintank due to a Cleric's HP buffs would give your MT (the warrior) a good health chunk to tank better. HOWEVER, in EQ a shaman was better for a caster heavy groups due to tons of overall stat buffs & quick heals + amazing regen for the time.
So my question is this. If we wanted to roll 3 necromancers, what would be the best healer for that? Cleric, Shaman, or BloodMage?
Or, if we wanted to do a MT, Dmg, Dmg, Healer setup, what would be best in Vanguard? Warrior, Sorc, Sorc, Cleric?
Is "Psionist" like the "Enchanter" from EQ who would deal out tons of crack, or is "crack" not needed in Vanguard since I noticed it has a fairly fast regen out of combat.
I also saw a video of a guy shapeshifting in-combat, and I think he was a ranger. Does that mean Druids, being primarily offensive casters in Vanguard as opposed to healers in EQ, shapeshift at higher levels for long periods of times (talking hours here)?
I HATE games that give you the bread & butter of a class in the form of a buff that only lasts 10minutes, and then needs recasting. -...- |

Trying to figure out what class to play now coming back, however there is ABSOLUTELY no updated class source for Spells & Abilities.
Without an updated "spell index" I can't figure out the difference between all the healer classes, and if necromancer is what I want to go :(.
Anyone, help :'(? |

Originally posted by reignjuste I cannot trust Blizzard anymore after seeing the travesty they called "Starcraft 2". It was NOTHING, and looked nothing, like Starcraft 1. Not to mention the MASSIVE bleedover from WoW in terms of artstyle (overly massive muscles + overly massive shoulderpads anyone?).
Let's not forget the horrible incarnation of the Diablo franchise they're trying to pass off as Diablo #3. Aboslutely nothing like Diablo 2, with heavy WoW undertones throughout it, and now they've tacked on an RMT auction house to REALLY rake in the money whilst ruining the experience for their players. No, Thank, You!
Blizzard is dead, and will not be trusted any longer. |

Originally posted by BlackUhuru They have NOT released enough information about Pathfinder Online to even consider it a proper AAA sandbox title yet, or even a good sandbox. When they start releasing screenshots, in-game video demonstrations, and talking about what content they ACTUALLY have developed already into the game THEN Pathfinder Online will be spoken of in the same breath as "a proper sandbox title". Otherwise, it's not worth talking about at this time my friend.

Obviously this company was run by very nice people, however they lacked the creative vision & money to see it through. I'm now convinced that it takes a TRULY creative targeted approach to develope a proper sandbox title. Look at EvE, they didn't have much money to start with but had an end-goal in mind. However, space combat with your avatar as the ship is obviously a niche market, and even moreso a niche market when combined with player looting & losing your ships when you get killed.
I think a couple proper AAA sandbox titles are what the market is looking for now. |

Over the past few years since EQ2 came out, what has been some Major technical advances in the MMORPG genre other than Graphics?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/08/12 4:14:31 PM
Originally posted by smh_alot The MMO's in Red have NOT released yet, and are not counted as "advancements" until they release for us to ACTUALLY see first hand if they are advancements or just rehashings with "Bloom" cranked up to hide the imperfections of an aging graphics technique. The MMO's in Green cannot be considered "graphical advances" simply because those are MINOR aspects to the graphics as a whole. Aion's world design, effects, terrain, and animations are absolutely horrible. LOTRO's World Design is the ONLY aspect of their graphics that have advanced, again a minor part of the overall GFX. Finally, FFXIV's only, again minor, "advancement" is their detail to monster models. Overall, none of these features impact the overall "Graphics" of these games whatsoever. At the end of the day, only acknowledging MINOR parts does NOT mean they've advanced.
However, Age of Conan is still up for debate in terms of "Graphical Advancement". The models are well done in terms of "realistic" looking (except for the weird boobs they have going on in that game). The landscaping is well done in SOME places, and horrible in others, and the animations are decently done enough for what it is. However, I wouldn't say Age of Conan is a REAL step forward.
I am, however, looking closely @ ArcheAge, TERA, and Planetside II. GW2 just seems like they're reusing the same texturing & modeling techniques from GW1. So far, I haven't seen anything hands on from GW2 that has impressed me. I know you REALLY want GW2 to be the next "saviour" of our genre, but right now I'm not seeing it. I honestly believe that one of AA, TERA, or PS2 will be that "saviour". |

For me at least, I'll only play races that do NOT cross my own boundries in which I live my daily life. Do I walk outside every day with a half-buttoned shirt to show off my chest while having 3tons of hair-gel on my head? The short answer is obviously: No, I do not.
However, I've only seen ONE race in TERA that looks like this. This is why I'll only play one of the 3 races that are NOT in this "Artisitc Style" of metrosexuality. -Those Half-Demon plate looking dragon guys... -MiniPandaBearGuyWithBigSword Or the usual Human with a gruff look.
Everything is subjective, and almost nothing is objective in today's market. Remember this, and you won't get so upset over another person's opinion ;)! |

Originally posted by Loke666 I STILL whine about the extremely dumbed down "Art-Style" of TOR, and I have continued to NOT play or buy that game. Yet, somehow every single one of my "claims" about SWTOR before its launch have been shown to be true.
Art-Style is one of the PRIMARY aspects of a product's sustainability. HOWEVER, the "Art-Style" is directly linked with its complexity & gameplay mechanics. If a game has so much freedom & environmental interaction mechanics within itself then "Art Style" has no bearing on its popularity. Look at MineCraft, if it were Linear as SWTOR do you REALLY think it would have sold over 5million copies by now? NO, but I digress.
@BlindChance, Art-Style is a VERY subjective thing, and you really need to think to yourself if your only going to play something that LOOKS nice rather than PLAYS nice! Which one is it that you're more interested in? A crazy fun non-linear product, or an AMAZING masterpiece of artistic vision with piss poor gameplay?
