I heard there was a free trial implant that added +3 to all stats, and gave 20% to all turret effectiveness until your account was 35days old.

Any idea how to get this?

Question from ‘Sorryaboutmyverbaldiarreah’: Will there be load screens when entering different regions (ex: a house) and will we be able to enter all buildings?

Class3 is a true open-world game, so conveying a sense of freedom and the joy of exploration is a core pillar of the game. We don’t want you debating whether the load time is a price worth paying for entering a building, so we’ve invested in the technology to allow the world to be seamless with no loading screens.

Whether all buildings could be entered was a significant debate early in the project. It takes a substantial amount of time to model the interiors of every building, of course, but more importantly, we don’t want to create a game that forces you to enter hundreds of mostly empty buildings to find the cool stuff. Ultimately we were able to solve both of these issues, so yes, you will be able to enter every building in the game, unless there is some visible reason why you shouldn’t be able to (e.g. it is collapsed, or burned out).

Correct me if I am mistaken, however as I recall the "Zombie Survival" MMO they're creating is for consoles ONLY, and NOT for PC.

There was something about this MONTHs ago, and how bad it would fail because they were working exclusively with consoles?

I cannot trust Blizzard anymore after seeing the travesty they called "Starcraft 2". It was NOTHING, and looked nothing, like Starcraft 1. Not to mention the MASSIVE bleedover from WoW in terms of artstyle (overly massive muscles + overly massive shoulderpads anyone?).

Let's not forget the horrible incarnation of the Diablo franchise they're trying to pass off as Diablo #3. Aboslutely nothing like Diablo 2, with heavy WoW undertones throughout it, and now they've tacked on an RMT auction house to REALLY rake in the money whilst ruining the experience for their players. No, Thank, You!

Blizzard is dead, and will not be trusted any longer.

What. Have you never played a blizzard game before wow? Their art style has always been like that, having a RMAH is nothing different to what people did anyway (how is it ruining anyone's experience? Diablo is NOT AN MMO, It's more like evening the playing field - and you don't have to use it if you don't want to, again, there is no leaderboard or competition between players for you to lose by not using the AH, are you one of those people that complains about people using cheats in single player games?)

SC2 is a great thing for esports, the storyline is terrible compared to the original but its look is to promote more clarity for spectators.

Stop pulling things out of your arse. Blizzard have never been innovators, but making stuff up is disingenuous.

On topic, mmos with depth exist, go play them instead of whining about them having no players. imo MMOG are becoming more action oriented has tech improves, you see rpg mechanics in every genre, and the player limit and world persistence increasing too.

imo every game will be mmo in some way eventually...

Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Starcraft 1, and Warcraft series. That "overly bulky childish" artstyle started with World of Warcraft. I even have the original game manuals with their art inside it they used to make those games, and NONE of it was like it is now.

So, I'll ask YOU if YOU have ever played any of Blizzard's games other than WoW & Starcraft 2? Obviously they've fired all of their "talent" and gone with some pretty piss poor art talent & graphical designers, because the direction they've gone since Diablo 2 is attrocious.

So far, it looks like: Necro, Necro, Necro, Shaman.

Chose Shaman because of the (+)Energy & (+)20% Spell haste, and not to mention a Shaman does actually get group heals. However, I was wondering if pets are affected by group buffs &/or heals?

What did happen with this game?

Mismanagement from the CEO, and they kept using some subsystem of the game that was vital for operation. However, that specific subsystem of the D&L servers was copyrighted by a developer they fired, and then continued to use that specific system without his approval. He went to court, sued the D&L company for using his precompiled copyrighted code & that was the drop in the bucket that killed the giant.

All in all, it was a fun game for what it was. HOWEVER, they lied to their customers at every step of the way to get their return in investment, and then ran off with it essentially leaving the game updateless. After about 3months of absolutely no proper updates being given everyone left. They TRIED to reboot D&L a year later with hardcore changes to the game, but they were too hardcore (ie: making it 3x harder to level, etc).

I played in Alpha, Beta, Open Beta, got a refund for my preorder and left before launch. It's not that I got burnt out, but I realized how badly the game was being mismanaged & that they were NOT listening to the horrible crys people were making about the engine that needed fixes badly, and how there was almost no content.

With all of that said, the game was purchased by a Korean company 2years ago, and is being redeveloped as "Savage Horizon" or something like that. I can't wait to see it come to NA again :)!

What story line were you playing? I do not remember any real twists to the plot as a Jedi Knight. It was pretty cliche and the dialogue was cringe inducing in it's awefullness, especially the Kira Carsen dialogue.

" I found myself grouping and i rarely group in games and darn I WAS ENJOYING IT. "

Realy, you have played that many MMOs for that long and you weren't big into grouping?

" a similar but better combat system than Wow. "

Realy..How so? Could you explain what you mean by "Better"?

"The last couple of weeks I have tried other Mmo's and it was not the same , ""

"Yes for the first time in my life I am not playing an mmo for one or two months and than switching to another. "

which is it?  I thought you were..."Enjoying it"?

I am glad you are liking the game BUT I shall not alow you to misrepresent your product

I too would like more specific details as ALL the points eddie puts forth for us to indulge our curiosity in sound like fantasies. I played SWTOR in Beta, didn't buy the game because I knew how bad it was, and then sat down for an hour on my nephew's account only to walk away shaking my head.

The game, as stated by Theodwulf, is in-fact "cringe worthy". Granted I took the part about you talking about DIALOGUE being cringe worthy & ramped it up to be the ENTIRE game being cringe worthy, but you get my point I hope.

I don't find the game bad, it's just not my cup of tea.

Is there anyway to cancel the preorder?

You have access to all the BETA's, atleast get to a higher level to give it a chance. :P

Doesn't get interesting until 20+

I don't want to get into a discussion about why I will not be playing Tera.

Curious, I see in your sig you're interested in 40k MMO, but that is literally another WoW-Clone according to their lead Developer that it's a "goal" of theirs to copy WoW as much as possible, but with a WAR 40k "skin".

What made you interested in TERA to begin with if you are interested in the 40k MMO?

It may pay to create something that looks cool and ask some guildies once you get in the game.  Let us know how your experience is!  VG was a fun game.

Kind of hard to put together a group of 4 people (myself, and 3 friends who want to go back) when you don't know what any of the classes ACTUALLY do.

For instance, in EQ Clerics were better for a group that had a Warrior as the maintank due to a Cleric's HP buffs would give your MT (the warrior) a good health chunk to tank better. HOWEVER, in EQ a shaman was better for a caster heavy groups due to tons of overall stat buffs & quick heals + amazing regen for the time.

So my question is this. If we wanted to roll 3 necromancers, what would be the best healer for that?

Cleric, Shaman, or BloodMage?

Or, if we wanted to do a MT, Dmg, Dmg, Healer setup, what would be best in Vanguard?

Warrior, Sorc, Sorc, Cleric?

Is "Psionist" like the "Enchanter" from EQ who would deal out tons of crack, or is "crack" not needed in Vanguard since I noticed it has a fairly fast regen out of combat.

I also saw a video of a guy shapeshifting in-combat, and I think he was a ranger. Does that mean Druids, being primarily offensive casters in Vanguard as opposed to healers in EQ, shapeshift at higher levels for long periods of times (talking hours here)?

I HATE games that give you the bread & butter of a class in the form of a buff that only lasts 10minutes, and then needs recasting. -...-

Hello?

Trying to figure out what class to play now coming back, however there is ABSOLUTELY no updated class source for Spells & Abilities.

Without an updated "spell index" I can't figure out the difference between all the healer classes, and if necromancer is what I want to go :(.

Anyone, help :'(?

Today, I truly feel is the proper time to finally give up ALL hope for anything even close to a real MMO ever releasing again. UO, EQ, DAoC-- these are dead dreams. The only hope I have that remains will be the tiny glint in the eye of a small indie dev team or person who works on cracking older MMO's to update them (Everquest remake?). Perhaps a restoration of faith if Darkfall 2.0 server wipe ever comes to pass (and even then, Darkfall isn't anything special at all...just a PvP game...) and if I see early signs of Everquest 3 being an Everquest 1 remake.

Yea I know, these dreams ACTUALLY died a loooong time ago with the release of awful expansions which severely altered the old games, but today I finally lay it to rest. There is no hope for the future: only corporate profit.

Time to hit myself in the brain with a shovel repeatedly until I become the LCD, so I can play this vomit.

For the last decade I've held on to hope that someone somewhere would release a sandbox MMO like UO, or a big huge sandbox PvE world like Everquest. (I know many of you believe EQ1 is a themepark, but it had few quests originally but a massive world to explore. It was a sandbox for many of us.) At the very least, a MMO that isn't ez-mode. Sadly, this hope is now gone. What little I had left the past few years has dried up.

I honestly don't think it's ever going to happen now. The idea of a DAoC 2, UO 2, Everquest 1 remake (Vanguard fail?): these things are something that simply won't happen. Ever. It's nothing the Tera video did, but the simple fact...it was so boring I almost died watching it. My hope is gone now, entirely... it just won't happen. The best we can hope for is Vanguard and Darkfall...which is sad :(

Soo u will realise to trust only blizzard products.

All others just simply exist to make our life bad.

Yes there is a indie studio making innovative sandbox game!!

It's called Pathfinder Online from Goblinworks, there back by Paizo one of the worlds leaders in all things PnP rpg's.

So the doom and gloom from Mr. Atanas Atanasov is not true.

The reason why in the last 8 years no one can seem to make a good sandbox game is because they have no idea what there doing.

They have NOT released enough information about Pathfinder Online to even consider it a proper AAA sandbox title yet, or even a good sandbox. When they start releasing screenshots, in-game video demonstrations, and talking about what content they ACTUALLY have developed already into the game THEN Pathfinder Online will be spoken of in the same breath as "a proper sandbox title". Otherwise, it's not worth talking about at this time my friend.

Bulgarian developer Masthead Studios announced earlier today that they're shutting down the servers for their post-apocalyptic sandbox MMO Earthrise.

"One year after the launch of the game, we have decided to stop the Earthrise servers. Earthrise was released too early and did not meet the expectations of its fans" said Atanas Atanasov, Director of Masthead Studios. "We did our best to revive the game in 2011, but the time was not enough to keep up with the user requirements. There is a huge interest in high quality open world sandbox MMORPGs, unfortunately the big publishers do not show any interest in the genre. It is unfortunate that low budget companies like ours are trying to bring innovativeness in the already saturated MMO market. I hope that one day an independent studio will be able to release the long anticipated open world sandbox MMO, which everyone is talking about, but no one is making. We tried, but did not succeed. We would like to apologize to those who were disappointed from Earthrise and to thank everyone who supported us during the years."

The studio does mention that the planned free-to-play version for this year may still launch if any investor interest is shown, but there has been no word on this yet.

@RedText - QFE

THIS is how the market currently is. We want a AAA sandbox title, and NOT themepark quest-handholders that are being released. SWTOR is already looking like it'll start circling the drain in terms of subscribers come June or July.

Obviously this company was run by very nice people, however they lacked the creative vision & money to see it through. I'm now convinced that it takes a TRULY creative targeted approach to develope a proper sandbox title. Look at EvE, they didn't have much money to start with but had an end-goal in mind. However, space combat with your avatar as the ship is obviously a niche market, and even moreso a niche market when combined with player looting & losing your ships when you get killed.

I think a couple proper AAA sandbox titles are what the market is looking for now.

Blackburrow - (EQ)

Tomb of Mythra - (DAOC)

Tatooine - (SWG PreCU)

Commonlands - (EQ2 - launch)

Over the past few years since EQ2 came out, what has been some Major technical advances in the MMORPG genre Other than Graphics?

Seem like gaming in general over the past few years only have taken advances in Graphics. The quality of Games have in general seem to have taken to the back burner. I notice more console games are even releasing with major/tons of bugs.

I wonder how this growing trend with the Graphical enhancment of the MMORPG genre, is having this same effect with MMOs, than console games suffer from this generation.

but with graphics going up and up, what techanical advances have we seen other than graphics? quality of MMO over the years has gone down, while graphics goes up.

Seems like these more Graphical MMO have taken steps backwards with the more popular approach of using Instanced Zones, as well as Non Seamless worlds, more and more now days.

come on, there has to be some techanical advances in the genre of MMORPG gaming other than graphics!!

What are you even talking about? Graphics have gone DOWN HILL, and have had NO graphical advances in MMORPG's due to WoW-cloning. Seriously, what ARE you talking about :(?

Looking at GW2, AoC, FFXIV, Aion's character models, LotrO's world design, The Secret World, Arche Age and TERA, I have to ask: what are YOU people talking about, that graphics haven't improved over the years?

Christ >.> No offense, but I seriously wonder about the education levels of most of the people visiting these forums sometimes, the logic used and the baffling amount of times that emotion seems to cloud and trump intellect and common sense in debates is really dumbfounding. I had expected better from people who have years upon years experience and knowledge of the MMO genre.

The MMO's in Red have NOT released yet, and are not counted as "advancements" until they release for us to ACTUALLY see first hand if they are advancements or just rehashings with "Bloom" cranked up to hide the imperfections of an aging graphics technique.

The MMO's in Green cannot be considered "graphical advances" simply because those are MINOR aspects to the graphics as a whole. Aion's world design, effects, terrain, and animations are absolutely horrible. LOTRO's World Design is the ONLY aspect of their graphics that have advanced, again a minor part of the overall GFX. Finally, FFXIV's only, again minor, "advancement" is their detail to monster models. Overall, none of these features impact the overall "Graphics" of these games whatsoever. At the end of the day, only acknowledging MINOR parts does NOT mean they've advanced.

However, Age of Conan is still up for debate in terms of "Graphical Advancement". The models are well done in terms of "realistic" looking (except for the weird boobs they have going on in that game). The landscaping is well done in SOME places, and horrible in others, and the animations are decently done enough for what it is. However, I wouldn't say Age of Conan is a REAL step forward.

I am, however, looking closely @ ArcheAge, TERA, and Planetside II. GW2 just seems like they're reusing the same texturing & modeling techniques from GW1. So far, I haven't seen anything hands on from GW2 that has impressed me. I know you REALLY want GW2 to be the next "saviour" of our genre, but right now I'm not seeing it. I honestly believe that one of AA, TERA, or PS2 will be that "saviour".

I would rather PVP objectives on Tatooine.

Actually here on Jedi Covanant its being played how it was designed due to balance and its actually pretty fun.

Not sure how it can be played as designed when the design is the problem to begin with.  I do wonder if it was the former Mythic guys that made this PvP objective, because it sure would make a lot of sense as to why this is failing horribly.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and NO it was NOT the Mythic guys that did those PvP objectives.

The game seems interesting, I'll give you that, but I cannot bring myself to play a game where every male character looks like he's at a "Metrosexual and Proud" convention and every female character looks like a stripper.

So you're afraid of well dressed male characters and don't like slutty female characters.....  something you want to share with the class?

I'm not a female myself so I wouldn't understand the need for a female to be "properly" dressed in a video game, regardless of the fact I could see why.

For me at least, I'll only play races that do NOT cross my own boundries in which I live my daily life. Do I walk outside every day with a half-buttoned shirt to show off my chest while having 3tons of hair-gel on my head? The short answer is obviously: No, I do not.

However, I've only seen ONE race in TERA that looks like this. This is why I'll only play one of the 3 races that are NOT in this "Artisitc Style" of metrosexuality.

-Those Half-Demon plate looking dragon guys...

-MiniPandaBearGuyWithBigSword

Or the usual Human with a gruff look.

Everything is subjective, and almost nothing is objective in today's market. Remember this, and you won't get so upset over another person's opinion ;)!

The Asian art style of this game is the only reason why I will never try it out.

It is a lot easier to get use to an art style than most people think. 2 days of playing and you wouldn´t even think of it.

Ask the people who still play TOR, many of them whined about the art before launch.

I STILL whine about the extremely dumbed down "Art-Style" of TOR, and I have continued to NOT play or buy that game. Yet, somehow every single one of my "claims" about SWTOR before its launch have been shown to be true.

Art-Style is one of the PRIMARY aspects of a product's sustainability. HOWEVER, the "Art-Style" is directly linked with its complexity & gameplay mechanics. If a game has so much freedom & environmental interaction mechanics within itself then "Art Style" has no bearing on its popularity. Look at MineCraft, if it were Linear as SWTOR do you REALLY think it would have sold over 5million copies by now? NO, but I digress.

@BlindChance, Art-Style is a VERY subjective thing, and you really need to think to yourself if your only going to play something that LOOKS nice rather than PLAYS nice! Which one is it that you're more interested in? A crazy fun non-linear product, or an AMAZING masterpiece of artistic vision with piss poor gameplay?
