Reviewer, you forgot to mention what soundcard you used for the review. I have found the soundcard makes a huge difference. When I was listening to music or playing games with my built in VT2020 sound I was having a bad time getting good surround decoding on my headset and so much was missing even though it was technically working. About a week ago I got the Asus DX and the it blew me away with how my Xtatic 5.1 headset sounded with that card instead all of a sudden the sound was full and beautiful. Especially when using the Dolby Digital live setting through the optical. When I used the PCM output through the optical it was not so good except if enabling Dolby headphone setting in Asus audio center program. So a bit more technical explanations would be nice for others in the next review so they might learn something. It did and does take a long time to get the right sound from different headphone soundcard settings.

Ugh I dunno doesnt look good. It looks like the typical stand around and take hits at NPC press 1-2-3 thing. I've been spoiled recently by certain game mmo where I have to move around to shoot stuff... I just hope its more dynamic than it seems.

It is way, way older than 12 years ago, try tripling that. I find having a sense of humor is something that runs pretty good in the FE circles, lets all relax and throw a prairie chicken on the barbie and hand me that creeper leg yum yum!!

This game is so much fun hadn't played it in years and the persistent universe now seems to work without lagging. When I first played this years ago use to take 2 mins to load it up, now it takes less than 20 seconds after hitting launch. I go in there and do some support last night helping the war refueling and repairing ships and I enjoyed it, it's a fun teamwork game. And the cap will take a very long time to get to for a new person, pretty good space warfare in this game.

The page doesn't even have HTTPS on it, and there is this little tidbit on their privacy policy.

I play a Klin with these guys and I know for a fact they are an honest bunch. I've experienced hours of preparation and flying just so we can do something and kill things. Well this Eve character all he has to do is spawn some NPC's in our area and destroy everything it's just a sorry excuse for leadeship. He wants to control the game through some kind of phony forum RP that has no effect on things, he should actually log on and play the game. I can tell you without a doubt that using Alts for wartime advantage or anything of tha kind is seriously frowned upon on the Klin side and even will get you booted from them. 

What I hate to see is these guys who are my friends and Klin get kicked in stomach while trying to make it fun INSIDE the game as opposed to having a forum wars. We've all lost things, I've died a few times but that fact is if the alliance was not constantly hiding they would get some action. And unlike us they get free ships we have to mine for ours millions of material. Also once this past week or so when you actually had a brave commander who sought to engage us and alliance wants to court martial him... how lame is that. Atleast he was brave enough to try to do something and that earns much respect. As opposed to pushing the I-WIN button. We pay to play our own game not be corralled and tunneled into a perceived storyline I didn't realize I was on his payroll.

Also I want to add that I was the one that caught this Xon spawned NPC's going rogue message. I was the one who went to the Communication console and saw the message, if it wasn't for me being vigilant and informing my crew on that night as were flying home through space this person would have gotten away with it again. Because everyone was prepared to go to sleep just then. What GM runs an "event" at 2:30AM?? It's just merely covering up of tracks by saying that.

With all that said the actual staff at Castlethorn are good people and are trying their best I'm sure, too bad that one player caused all this.

I think between now and when this finally comes out there will be 300 other mmos that will be released and 20,000 if you count the asian mmos. The proof will be 6 months after it's released for me. None of us want to be negative, it's just none of us want to get burned again.

I think the problem you have is suffering from MMO monogamy, man was not made for just one game alone. There is no such paradise for some people. I just invented that lol.. anyways no one true game can satisfy all your needs so you're just going to have to do with playing many single player and multiplayer games and then have an mmo you might barely tolerate when you want to have people around to do quests with. That's what I did for awhile, you do that till you find what you like.

If you mean meaninful as in what you make matters and it's hard to live without the items you make and you can change even the terrain, then I second Wurm.

Try Wurm, it's funky but I like it. Lots of building stuff.

 I just  feel the NPCs are just too hard to kill when you have near equal amount of order players trying to kill you at the same time.

when you far out number the defenders is not a problem...when the numbers are closer its near impossible

I'm not sure if you know this little tidbit but it's common in most ancient and modern military strategy books that it takes about 2/3 more attackers than defenders to take a defensive point. So what you experienced seems right on. That would be for a general assault and many more than that if you want to be assured success. Assaulting anything you have to be prepared to take more casualties that's why you need more numbers it's just a general maxim. Goodluck on your next assault soldier.
