Face of Mankind has been shut down.. for anyone wondering about the status of the game.

They are supposedly going to improve the game and release it again without a publisher, but who knows how long that will be lol.

I hope this game never lives to see the light of day again.

Well I have to update my opinion on this game, after two weeks of playing it got boring and I quit. I gave it a chance but it does not have a lasting appeal and I am not willing to pay for it.

Really nothing new here, pretty generic.

I just recently started this game about a week ago and I'm going to agree with you Taram it is a lot of fun. The other day I took over the imperial Valley control point by myself, it took me roughly 15 tries but man did I have fun with it.

Here is my opinion, I am not going to argue with yours Taram so don't take it that way. I enjoy this game a lot but there is really nothing revolutionary in the game that it claimed to have, to a certain extent it is WOW/Vanguard with new skins and models. It doesn’t play exactly like WOW but sometimes I feel like I am playing it. This game is DIFFERENT. It's not another Elves and Dwarves game, it is finally a break from the fantasy games and into a new theme of MMORPGS which I really admire Richard for doing considering UO, and that's why I like it.

Not only is it a quest driven game, it is a "fetch quest" driven game.

The quest suck, they are not fun and they are just like every other MMO. 

Woot, walking animations have been added for players and several animals.

The game is improving each day.

Make sure when you cancel this game it actually cancels, many people have been charged months after they canceled and didn't realize it.

It is no use trying to contact their crappy tech support, simply block them from charging your card.

Everything you make is defined already, and you don't craft, you stand in front of a terminal for hours and hours watching a little bar move up and down while it takes your money.
This game is horrible.

How is the combat system "different"? I mean, I watched a video of several players in close combat and it sucked. What more do I need to know or see?

It is not you standard FPS type of game. The guns do not really do that much damage and poeple can heal themselves. It really something you need to play out and see if you like it or not I can not really explain this in text.

That is the classic excuse, "It's not your standard FPS game" or my favorite: "It's not your typical MMO"

I am all for new games that are actually different and fun. This game is different, it isn't fun.

The game's combat system is similar to that of UT, Tribes; or any fast paced shooting game, the trouble is, the developers have tried to make that fast paced gameplay realistic.. duhhhh see the problem DPS?

If you want to have a sense of accomplishment when you log out, this is the game for you. There a lot of skills, and tons of things for you to try out and make. The game is not finished, it needs quite a few key elements of a retail ready game, such as character customization, everyone looks the same! No animations, I have no problem with the no animations when you cut down a tree, but when I see people walking I don't want to see them gliding around. The game use to have more sounds in beta, such as birds, water sounds, etc. About a month before the game went retail they introduced a new client, it has improved graphics, and supposedly is going to support all of these new features they have been promising. I dont think they have had the time to reimplement everything from the old client or new content. In my opinion, the client was a success, but, it has become to big of a burden on the devs, they are overwhelmed with things to do, plus they have a real life, job, family, etc.

 Well blah blah to my post that is my opinion I go now.

Shem, your a little british 16 year old smart ass, I could care less about you, whether you are SC or not. There are other people in the faction beside you I am sorry, and I have no memory of your statements you have made towards my post in the past. Furthermore, you cannot base promotions and things in the faction based upon my FOM criticism, I will just complain to DPS, you know, you have heard the stories. Hell, they might even make me the R7, which further shows how asinine DPS is.

That's a little rude, considering how much I did for the BOS in beta and as a rank 5 in retail helping out all of the little newbies that all of the "mid class veterans" ignored. I will be back, I am thinking of coming back in february, hopefully it is fun.. If it hasn't been canceled by then.

Look how crappy this games combat system is, just watch this video, I cannot believe they even went retail with this game. There is nothing to do in the game, and that was probally the two most boringness weeks of my life.
