Good ol' times, I'd just go to zone around my level range, shout "XXX looking for XP group" get invite and start killing stuff while chatting away with rest of the group and having a laugh, It was far less grindy and tedious than running to town, picking up 12 quests, running across the map to do the 12 quests, running back to town to return the quests, running around town to find new 12 quests...etc etc.

Only social aspect left on MMOs are raids and even so, game after game reduces the amount of people you can bring to raid and reduces the amount of people you see in same zone with you...if same development continues, soon all MMOs will remind us of "Progressquest" where you just pressed a button and watched the game play itself for you (http://progressquest.com/)

Sanya still holds #1 spot for my all time favorites in community managers, definately will get Dominus.

The story is amazing, the rest of the game is just standard themepark model. My honeymoon with the game and rose colored classes fell off when the storyline quests started to get few and far between.

Wait, so the reason you lost interest is because you ran out of carrots to lead you around? When you had to play the game instead of being led around by the leash? Amazing. Thats almost as good as the other thread today where people are complaining that there is TOO much leveling content in this game, which they blew past to reach cap, and are now complaining there isn't enough content. You guys are just amazing!

Are you even trying to understand what people are saying, or are you actually trying not to?

"The story is amazing," - liked the story

"the rest of the game is just standard themepark model." - has a preconception about the game, unable to see past that

"Honeymoon with the game and rose colored classes" - believes he was dilusional with his earlier (pre launch) hyope of what he EXPECTED the game to be - for those that are confused there, he thought that game was going to be something that it wasn't really going to be and then got mad when he realized HE was wrong all that time.

"fell off when the storyline quests started to get few and far between" - lost interest because he ran out of direction, stopped being motivated by the story he liked (see above) and no longer had anythign else in the game which would lead him to continue to play.

Now, did I read that right or did I miss any of the points there. Please smartass, enlighten me with your fuckin wisdom.

The story is great, but when you start to need to "kill ten rats" over and over for hours just to see how the story continues, it becomes tedious...it's like going to watch awesome movie just for the staff halt the movie after first twenty minutes and telling them they are to play pattycakes with the person next to them for an hour before they're allowed to see next twenty minutes of the movie just to be halted again to play pattycakes for 2 hours so you'll be allowed to watch next 10 minutes of the movie.

I admit, I'm a WoW hater and fan of UO and DAoC style games...i loved KOTOR 1 and KOTOR2 and joined in just for the story.

I enjoyed the game all the way up till end of Act 1, then I realised I already had done it all and only things I had to expect from the game was more of the same.

I got ship, I got speeder, i got crafting skills where i wanted them, i had done flashpoints and warzones and story quests...then i thought...what more would there be for me? ...same warfronts, more identical flashpoints, more identical looking gear, more "kill XX of XXX" quests with ridiculously long prologues.

I played three classes to lvl 30-35 and then lost interest in playing them, when I wondered why that was, it was because past lvl 30 the game simply runs out of carrots to keep you going.

This game isn't bad, it's just unfinished. They've spent all the fireworks on first half of the game and second half just feels unfinished and unsatisfying.

I'm going to wait 6 months to see how the game has matured, I wish they'll make the endgame as amazing as start of the game is so it'll encourage me to return.

So long and thanks for all the fish :)   On the serious - side, everything isn't for everybody. I think tor republic is lots of fun. BTW- at lvl 35, you are not at end-game yet so I dont see how you can comment on it. My highest is 15, lol, so I will refrain from giving an opinion of end-game yet ;)  At any rate, go play what you enmjoy and have fun.

After speaking to numerous lvl50s about how the endgame is, it's better to wait for an expansion rather than rush to 50...in game like SWTOR where it's extremely easy to level to max it's inevitable that people run out of things to do.

All I'm going to say is...

The OP talks about more of the same post 30.. out of "playing" 3 characters to the 30s... so basically, they haven't played any of the content they are talking about.

My personal opinion... Acts 2 and 3 are much better storylines then act 1.   Worlds get much more open and varied,  and different quests present themselves at the higher levels, not to mention there are better flahspoints, and so on.

Its like saying "I played Mass effect until I got all of my crew, and then realized its more of the same" .   Everything is more of the same in every game ever.

If you played all the way through borderlands, get to the end and complete it,  then notice theres DLC.. guess what.. that DLC isn't going to be a flight simulator,  its just more of the same borderlands gameplay.

New content coming to your favorite MMO?  Chances are its going to be more of the same quests just in different areas,  or new characters with different looks using skills that do the same thins.

However you want to slice it, gaming is repetitive, MMOs more than most.   Maybe its time to try a different hobby.

SWTOR doesnt have endgame, pretty much every aspect of the game is open to you by lvl25...you'll already have killed every type of rodian, sandperson and droid there is.

I wish there was more warfronts just for levels 40-50, larger flashpoints with unique enemies and larger than normal flashpoints...right now only end game amusement is raping lvl10's in warfronts because the buff thats supposed to even the odds is a joke. or then try raid the four flashpoints which are all broken.

The only carrots in themeparks are: PVE (and Endgame), PVP (and Endgame), Character Development (Achievements, etc), and as of SWTOR, Story.

Apparently the story didn't grab you or you would've kept going, I don't think you mentioned PvP, the PvE that you could do was boring to you, and you said you felt you had accomplished everything you wanted for your character's development.

Yeah, sounds like you're about done :) although I think you're pretty much done with the themepark formula as well.

The story is amazing, the rest of the game is just standard themepark model. My honeymoon with the game and rose colored classes fell off when the storyline quests started to get few and far between.

The PVP were worst Ive experienced in any mmo, who ever thought giving just about every class AOE crowd control abilities and then making warfronts claustrophobically small and full of bottlenecks was a novel idea should be slapped silly. Didnt help my enthusiasism to watch friend show me how in the open world pvp area hordes of republics and imps just ran around completely ignoring one another doing the area objectives over and over just to get themselves full champion gears in few hours.

You sound more burnt out on MMORPGs than on swtor. After act 1 it starts to get interesting.

I admit, I'm burn out on MMOs, the story is only thing that kept me going as far as it did, but after the gaps between the storyline quests started to grow wider and wider, the same old stereotypical mmo features started to shine through.

If only they upgraded the graphics engine and modernized the UI, I'd be back in a heartbeat.

Buying boxed copies are so last decade.

EA doesnt turn games F2P, they grind cash out of it as long as they can, then when its not making new gold plated humvees to the executives every month they put the game on lifesupport, cutting down the budget to bare minimum and start using the game as training ground to trainee-level developers (UO, WAR)...after the game stops "standing on its own" they just shut it down (earth and beyond, tso).

Its not illegal as per law, its just counterproductive and overexhaustive to point that only one mmo has ever disclosed bans (they crucified banned people on crosses and put them around game world)

fact is: 99% of people who get banned in a MMO are idiots, its never a good idea to argue with an idiot.

Ranting about getting banned is easy when MMO devs isn't allowed to disclose reason you got banned.

It always happens in MMOs, Kids will exploit like nuts or behave on global chat in a manner that would make whole choir of baby jeebuses cry and then after being banned go QQ on the forums "DEVS SUX I GOT BANNED FOR SAYING CATS R BETTER THAN DOGZ, U GUYS SUX FOR PLAYIN THIS KKTHXBYE!"

I can see myself subbing for 2-3 months of this game...Year? ...maybe, debending on how fast they can push more content in

sith light side options tend to be evil but "less evil" than other options.

Basically you get to choose between crazy mass murderer and honorable psychopath.

Only difference is the few extra abilities you get...as assasin you get stealth and more melee attacks, as sorcerer you get healing spells and more lightning attacks...but the base abilities are exactly same for both.

Because people tend to only play one game at a time old games die every time new one is released!

/sarcasm off

If by long shot Guild Wars 2 wl be first game in a decade to live up to its hype, I'll play both

Official word is that SWTOR budget was 150 million.

Bioware uses old version of Hero Engine that they've updated themselves.

i personally have never met anyone who uses xfire.
