Just a Poll to see how the community feels about D3
General Gaming « General Discussion 8/28/11 3:27:03 AM
Load up your diablo 2. Every 10 seconds you get walls of ads from gold farmers. That was when gold farming was illegal. Now that it's legal, I fully expect teams of bots to spam my screen so fast I'll need a new pair of glasses. I wish the company would cover the game rather than the gimics that it'll take to float it. Ok you got the Koreans on board, great. Ok, you got the chinese on board, great. What about the actual game???? |

World of Warcraft: The Sunset of Its Reign
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 8/27/11 12:15:23 PM
Lord of the Rings Online = Gay Wizard audience Dungeons & Dragons Online = Sega 2-D audience Star Wars:The Old Republic = A stick and going to church is better than a pistol I don't think these are replacements. Nor is Rift. Rift is battlegrounds. There's no game. WarHammer Online made a game some years ago, but EA won't fund them any more because they want to kill them. Blizzard already said 4.4 patch gets ready for the next addon. Every addon is a copy of game already on the market. Cataclysm was Wizard 101 online. With in-game arcade games like plants vs zombies, the word 'cute' dominating the game with singing sunflowers, rainbow trinket weapons, bunnies with spears, my little pony mounts, and little idea what rewards should look like after nearly 7 years, reskinning mounts, and having people kill old bosses in new instances, it is getting stale, agreed. Broken acheivements and quests are simply deleted. Now you can make beer without hops because they couldn't figure out how to sell them from a vendor correctly. One can assume with the removal of all the important stats, combined with the cute-invasion, the next hero class will be a panda, and you can play it on XBox Live. It could possibly double the number of players asking, "WTF Blizzard? Where's the game?" |

General: Fiddle of Gold - Also Available in Shop
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/20/10 1:52:47 AM
I seriously had a bunch of stuff to put here, but I'm not suppose to bad mouth WoW for a week or so. :( LOTRO - You can play music. It's BEYOND cool if you like that sort of thing. You punch keys for letters and your guy can play anything you can read. I think everyone gets a lute, and bards can do more instruments. A golden violin would be super wicked. |

War is a good game, but to remain competitive War needs a RvR area where people have fun and another area for PvP-Super-mega twink-camp-hacker-greifer-farmer-invisible-one shot-ninja-kill steal-latency filled-erase all my reputation-bot run-ultimate-lose my information-SUCK-map where all the bad players can go live out their wildest dreams to take advantage of people looting their corpse and be allowed to sell them on eBay. :) Wait! There are about 4 games out there that already do that. Oh! That's why no one's playing War. okay. :) |

Global Agenda: GameSpot Review Taken Down
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/18/10 1:38:17 PM
GameSpot has never been a good source of information for any of the games I've played. They were always building lists that other people compiled, but the links didn't work, or the information wasn't relovent. I think in pulling this stunt it further prooves they are new on the block. There is nothing wrong with new. Some of the old sites like Wiki delete all your stuff. Some sites embed bad code or HUGE ad banners in their sites that slow down games. Some games buy the wiki's and delete or supress the content they don't want you to have. Knowing GameSpot is a dork, just makes them a dork. Not a bad dork. Zam is bad! Zam is Alakzam that was Alakazm, that says it's Zam, owned by Alakazm, but when you click on a Zam link it takes you to an Alakazam website with links to Zam sites that have links to other Zam sites, that contain thread of Zam sites, that contain items with tabs, and when you click on the Zam tab THERE IS NOTHING THERE! 5 minutes later when you have died because you were assumed AFK from downloading a media advertisement on EVERY PAGE you notice your computer is moving slower because now you have a virus. Thank you Zam, or Alakazm, or whatever. |

"...Honestly, I would have referred you to Tabula Rasa, had it still existed..." Stay away from NCSoft. They close all their servers: - Tabula Rasa - Auto Assault - Dungeon Runners I think they just said good bye to the GW China Servers last week. It's only a matter of time before the US servers get ganked, and then who knows which one they'll pull the plug on next. SOE keeps stuff alive forever. I can't even believe people still play EQ, but more power to them. Party on. |

Suggestions needed for game for mom and four year old to play together
LFGame « General Discussion 2/18/10 1:09:41 PM
"...Lego Universe is looking like its going to be fun even for an adult..." Lego clearly stated it takes it's age restrictions seriously. You can sign your kid up, but they don't want parents playing. I think they are making a parents only room where the kids can drop their mom's and dad's off for an hour, so they can go play. :) |

DDO still has a pretty large population. I was VERY concern with the 2-D paper cutout Sega looking graphics, but I was told you can increase the resolution and it gets much better. There are no ninja looters in DDO, so people can flee from WoW and find a home there. And another improvement over WoW is that people actually want to play the game and don't power level pedal to the floor run over you in the middle of an instance when they get their required 'thing' and leave for some other pre-arranged group after they dumped you. "WE are NOT killing THOSE! DOn't go OVER There. None of that is required. Come here! Now! Get over here! Kill these 4 guys. Good. I'm gone /hearth" <--typical day in WoW |

You increase the target audience. We need more First Person Shooting! We need more left-handed dislexsick cake eating brown eyed eskimo's! We need more RP'ers! We need more space stuff! Oops, add more fantasy stuff! Wait, let's get bobble headed weird eyed big nose pointy toes underware on the head toons! We need more people to farm and sell gold! We need more people to steal stuff from other people and mess up their raids so we can sell more time cards! An no more writers, just pvp maps! No more solo stuff! Wait, no more group stuff! No more people getting rewards! Reset all the xp, gold, and reputation bars! Everyone will start over and be the same! Don't listen to the players, they have no idea what they want! :) Pretty soon you have jet powered flying motor cycles in pre-Christian times and gamers watching TV while they are playing because it simply doesn't matter. |

Bethesda's Elder Scrolls MMO wont work IMO.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/18/10 3:07:06 AM
WoW already does all this. To replace WoW requires writers, not dumb pvp maps. I can save them $250,000 right now. Do something new, or start working on the phrase, "Do you want cheese with that?" |

Study: Warp speed will kill you! Startrek is not realistic! =(
General Discussion « Star Trek Online 2/18/10 2:59:46 AM
Didn't they torture and kill the 1st guy that said the earth was round? I think they put him on a ship stabbed him in the back and asked him to swim home before the sharks came. Pythagoras or some weird guy. My point is...someone has to think this stuff up, and someday it might work. Do you want to be know as the morons that stabbed him, or do you want to be known as the people that helped him? |

"...I hear there is no real crafting..." Why do game developers insist on dissing my crafting grind?!! This is how it's gonna work, see. :) 95% of the people go die 1,000,000,345,456,789,099,999 times because they are use to playing console, mashing buttons while intoxicated, and using the gear they wake up with as a hang-over solution. And 5% of us, go find, read, and make stuff the OTHER half can use when while drunk they deleted their stuff on accident and the GM doesn't care to respond from India because they have a christian name and that's against the law there. rofl |

General: Jennings: The Quest For Gameplay
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/18/10 2:33:16 AM
WoW quests don't fail. The rewards fail. 80% of people power level and totally ignore them. Then 20% of the 10 million people are not 'concurrent' players. There are only ever like 200 people on-line at a time, and they are scared you are a wacko idiot and will track them down in real life and mess with them because most WoW conversations have an IQ of a small overchewed jawbreaker. So WoW is not a solo player game. WoW only rewards people that group, only at max level, and WoW still allows Loot Whoring (Ninja, DKP, whatever stealing things from other players is called this week). In WoW the end goal is to watch TV and die in Battle Grounds over and over like a console game, or play Arena once a week for 3 months while you do your homework for gear need to solo quests with no rewards no one wants to do. The game is pretty fun, but they have trouble paying the writers when they switched to 'all pvp all the time'; "Make Love Not WarCRaft", and should let the rewards guy out of the box they locked up during the creation of the Burning Crusade because no one plays any of it unless they have to, as player's will tell you, "There is no point." /cry :( |

General: Seven Underrated Systems
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/18/10 2:16:32 AM
I have never understood player housing. I think only girls want to play house. Or, maybe because it is so limited. If we had to dig the basement out, put up the drywall, or pour the concrete I'd probably get it. COH/COV has base building. Someone said AoC took this idea an improved on it. I've never played the pvp part where they come shoot it up or burn it down. That could suck after spending all that time building it, but maybe if you get points everytime the enemy destroys each chair, lamp, or couch, people would go for it. Maybe if there was a reason for housing, like...player need to go to the bathroom #2 NOW! EQ2 uses guild halls where you can use portals to travel places faster, but it's probably not worth the gold they have to pay for it. Maybe steal some ideas from the SIMS. idk, I've never played that either. But that's kind'a a girl's game too. Houses attract girl gamers?? It's just marketing? Nah, girls aren't stupid. Guys are easy to trick. Look at Wow. Flash some bright lights maybe some cleavage and they are glued to the screen for years. I don't think girls are falling for that, no good evil marketers. Am I wrong? |

LFGame « General Discussion 2/18/10 1:49:14 AM
Oh! Saw the monk request. EQ2 has monks. Try out the different servers before you start. Some have various levels of people. Most of the jerks are gone as the game doesn't advertise much and they close a lot of gold seller accounts pretty fast. Most of those guys are still pushing gold on WoW. |
