Just that I would have liked playing in the middle of the next gen era. Listening to the old Hailing Frequencies radio shows, the PE crew had hinted at doghnut (how the hell do you spell doughnut?) shaped saucer sections and the fact that it takes place in the early 25th century things like that make me think its PEs artwork and SOMEWHAT story. It looks to me however that they are gonna make Klingons bad guys again to give us all a faction choice. Thats how I see it but I do not see the glass as half empty, Im gonna play it till it becomes SWG. |

Well since Gene is dead and has better things to do, what I mean is the fact that the whole game takes place in the 25th century years after the next gen era. I think they are trying to avoid Genes Story altogether except for the names places and things from it. I would have rather played in the middle of the next gen era myself but lets just see what happens. |

After reading the new FAQ and all the following along I did with Perpetual, it seems to me we are getting Cryptics game with Perpetuals artwork. AND their story line...ish. |

Was Cryptic already working on a sci-fi game and just switched it? Then again we have all heard rumors of Cryptic getting STO since Perpetual was publicly having trouble. Ill bet they have been working on it alot longer than we might think. Still I share your trepidation. |

STO well thats along way away yet so time will tell.
I think what Hadrian means by successful is, good MMORPGS in his opinion. If thats true, I agree with him there aren't many GOOD mmorpgs. But, good is subjective of course. Just for example, I LOVE lotro, and absolutely HATE CoX and there are too many CoXs out there and VERY few lotro. Having this in mind for myself and all my friends who play MMOs the success rate is very low and the chances aren't great. But as Hadrian says, I wish them luck.
PS It is an entirely DIFFERENT dev team for STO and CoX right? Because personally I dont want anyone who so much as got coffee for the the CoX team anywhere near STO. /sarcasm |

Only Cryptic game Ive ever played was CoX, and it sucked bad IMO. I just hope they come up with a better quest system than that. I do believe they will do a good job though. (Mainly because its my only hope for a good Sci-fi MMO so I have no choice but to believe) Just dont suck is all I ask |

Gotta say I want SOME instances. But most of all I want at least one server to be VERY strictly RP, and Guild run Starships |

Originally posted by kitsunegirl The quest SHOULD be for more money. The way you get that is with a better product than others have. FIRE Smed yes, but never forget the only way we get great MMORPGs or Games in general is because it makes money. But then Im a capitalist pig. |

If you built little Dioramas of soldiers or built model airplanes you wouldnt get all that grief. TO ME, building up a little charater in a computer game isnt much different. Just takes a different skill, (Being good at video games OR being good with your hands). I dunno I think different strokes for different folks, although I prefer other thing versus MMOs, the MMOs are actually cheaper |
