........and?

It's called an honorary gift. Don't really see an issue with this, but I'm sure some will.

How about a baby's right to live? Nope? Just toss them in a pile with the other babies ripped apart or brains sucked.

How about the father's right to his child? Nope? The male has no right to a child he helped create?

Why not allow "honor killings"? Slavery? Et cetera? After all, you want freedom for everything.

Freedom is not doing whatever the hell you wish.

Baby =/= fetus.

Fail.

Father =/= Pregnant.

Fail.

If you can't figure out why honor killings and slavery are wrong, you are a sociopath, IMO.

I would have to agree on Dekron on the Father issue. This has become a real sore spot with me over the last few years of this popping up on the news, especially when it involves child care payments. All of the choices for the father are completely null and voided over the right of the mother.

Father wants to keep the child but the mother doesn't = Dead baby

Father doesn't want to keep the child but the mother does = Live baby, plus the father is paying child care payments for a kid he didn't want.

Where is the Fathers right to choose?

I realize there are some shit head parents out there and they would take advantage of the system, but no system is perfect and you have to take the good with the bad. If people are so adamant about equal rights, then boths sides have to be looked at as well.

Postcards and Gift Boxes are all well and good, but only when you know the people sending them. It's nice to know people take the time out of their lives to send them...... but usually the candy just ends up getting raided, the good stuff gets taken (razors, shaving creme, hand sanitizer, etc. Stuff we used.) and the rest is trashed.

The teams I were with were good about sharing the hordes. Candy, cookies were usually piled up in an area for all to partake in. The other stuff you mention was taken were taken as well. Mags, books an what not were passed around then usually sent to the USO station/community center after they were not wanted. Some folks even sent us a ton  of handmade scarves, socks, hats and gloves. I still have a few sets I brought back with me.

Oh, by the way...don't send porn. One sure way to get a troop in trouble.

If it were a real war and they were actually keeping us safe I'd thank them, but instead I think I'll send a "We'll get you out of there soon" card.

Wow, that certainly was a slap in the face. Not a real war?

Keep the card.

I wonder how this bodes for the upcoming "The Secret World" MMO.  Its looking quite dark for Funcom currently.

The report mentions that TSW is "progressing well".

I realize that they are reproting that but if they took this kind of hit in Q3 and another loss in Q4 that has got to get them thinking about saving $$$ and the bottom line. I sincerely hope they are going to continue with TSW, this report just has me a little concerned.

They said I was permabanned for insighting an uproar... or something along those lines. Which of course, I wasn't. I have since then of course. Their moderation made sure of that. But at the time up until the banning, I just wanted to play the game.

Permabanned? Really? You mean your posting here won't show differently?

Gee what a shock, the Fringers come in to complain about SOE business practices, folks could set your watch by you guys. Entertaining, but as usual wrong.

People go on SOE and other sites, totally ignore any rules concerning moderation guidelines then proceed to whine bitch and moan when the rules are enforced and folks are banned. Of course then the alt accounts pop up with claims of bias, defensiveness and blacklists.

If folks follow the rules set up by the site owner, all goes well. Its really not that difficult to understand.

Got permabanned from the SWG forums for telling a player who felt cheated by the NGE that if he bought his game from Wal-Mart, they're usually good about returns, even if their policy is not to give refunds for opened software. I didn't do it rudely (I wasn't a disgruntled vet at that time. The permaban sure sped up that process though).

How is that against the rules?

You mean they didn't tell you what rule you broke? They just up and banned for suggesting a game return huh? If thats the story you want to stick to thats fine.

ROFL, that commercial was hilarious.

what i dont understand is why companies like SOE have created a completely different job description for their community managers to the one you describe here.

most of them (and those who were) are emotionally unstable, forum nazis who prefer to treat people like 6 year olds when they are not acting like such themselves. they go as far as setting forum rules they or their mods don't bother to follow but are quick to ban and threaten should posters on their "black list" ignore. this takes us into the bias and preferential treatment area which they also excel at.

they seem to view their forums as potential dangerous grounds which need to be ruled with a firm hand rather than a place of opportunity to get the consumers on their side.

... i wonder why all the defensiveness?

My money is on the Clone Wars MMO that was rumored to be in development by them.

I was thinking that or the next EQ series. Whatever it is it will most likely be PC and PS3 capable as well.

Nice art, I like it.

I had to laugh when I saw the guy that was holding the phaser was in a red suit. The first thing I thought was "That could be a bad omen".

Seriously though I hope this is what the Star Trek community was hoping for an hope they enjoy it.

I think betas are useful for both the consumers and developers. For the developer side, they can use this opportunity to gauge the communities reaction of their nearly completed project, market their MMO to the masses with a taste of what is to come and attempt to find and eliminate bugs before or shortly after launch. For the consumers its an opportunity to become familiar with the game they have been waiting for, help developers locate and remove bugs and help the community grow through word of mouth (or forums such as this).

The whole point is to show that we're better than them.  We will give them a fair trial and show the world that we are above them.

I agree, I'm all for the fair trial. Some here seem to fear it.

Looks like Ms Prejean is the porn industries answer to a stimulus package:

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean made 7 other sex tapes, dozens of nude pics

your link is not working it seems.

funny how i never heard this at the height of the ordeal....I think you're looking for shit that isn't there

but i'd expect that.

Fixed the link, but for your reading enjoyment:

"It looks like Carrie Prejean spoke too soon when she called her recent sex tape the "biggest mistake" of her life.

Either the seven other sex tapes that have just surfaced aren't actually salacious, or else the former Miss California has a little more to atone for.

RadarOnline.com has just learned that the dethroned beauty queen has no less than eight sex tapes and 30 naked photos to her name. As in her previous sex tape, she performs solo on each video.

Some of the new sexy photographs that have been unearthed Prejean allegedly took herself, of own reflection in a mirror, alternately topless and completely naked.

Prejean created a national controversy earlier this year when she spoke out against gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant. Her stance put her at odds with the pageant committee, which she later sued for libel, claiming she had been discriminated against for her religious views.

Prejean settled out of court on November 3 after her first sex tape surfaced. On Wednesday she threatened to walk off Larry King Live when the host questioned her about the deal.

Perhaps she can chalk up the moment as another error to add to her growing list.

One of the dead was pregnant. They can try him under civilian justice for the murder of that unborn child.

Very true, they may try him for that.

Your talking about the same group that executed the Nazis. I don't have to cherry pick they have the death penalty. As far as the U.S. soldiers chances are they would end up with a lighter sentence than they would get for comitting war crimes and being tried under the UCMJ.

I'm not scared of our justice system I think it is a great affront that these murders be accorded the same constitutional rights that actual U.S. citizens are accorded. That is my problem. I think by giving them constintutional rights in their trial we are pissing on the 9/11 dead.

Personally I think anything less than a firing squad if found guilty  is a betrayal to the 9/11 dead.

The Nazis committed mass genocide. Apples and oranges to 9/11.

I doubt he'll even see a military prison really.

I'm predicting his military trial will give him life.  And then his civilian trial(s) will give him death.

You do know that if he is tried and covicted for murder for the 13 soldiers by the military he can't be tried for murder again.

"In the U.S. military courts martial are subject to the same law of double jeopardy, as the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the military, superseding the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Nonjudicial punishment is considered akin to a civil case and is subject to lower standards than a court martial, which is the same as a court of law. However if a non-judicial or NJP proceeding fails to produce conclusive evidence, the commanding officer (or ranking official presiding over the NJP) is not allowed to prepare the same charge against the military member in question. In a court martial, acquittal of the defendant means he is protected permanently from having those charges reinstated."

I don't think some of them can technically be trialed as war criminals.  Terrorism has been considered a domestic problem before 9/11.  I think trialing them in New York City is a huge mistake considering they are suspected of being behind 9/11.  Its a little unfair not only to them, but to the people of the city.  The Timothy McVeigh trial happened in Denver for comparison.

If they want to move it to another city I would be fine with that. If they are too scared of an actual trial, well thats another story.
