CGM-post here if you were scammed
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 6/17/06 9:36:26 AM
haahh yeah i did the CGM subscription myself, thinking i was a shoe in for the beta. its all BS. i called them back and said I want my money back id like to cancel. now i gotta wait 8 weeks for my $30 back. lol ill never read them again. low and dirty tactics. im better off just waiting as I did in the forums for getting into the beta. next time ill make sure to read more thoroughly as their FAQ was a bit vague. well im kinda over the whole VSOH thing anyway, may not even bother playing it. so not really stressing it, only thing im stressing is waiting 8 frigging weeks for my money back from the publisher. |

im really interested in this MMO keeping an eyeball on this one. completely tired of the whole elves, paladin, ranger, medieval BS with mmo's we need a really good sci fi fantasy MMO. |

i played the beta for this. i was on maybe 4-5 hours and i never logged on again. absolutely atrocious POS. im surprised they dare have the nerve to releaser such a game.

I loved being who I was, having fun among other players who right beside me I would fight beside, then the next day I take a bounty on and Deathblow them for 100,000 credits and throw a macro'ed phrase I worked hard so I could have fun roleplaying, and I might add I recieved quite acclaim as being one of the few Bounty hunters of soloing, never ganking, win or lose. Now its like there no real depth, no intrigue to what this game once had.
Ill admit this much, despite all the bugs, despite all the hooplah that has transpired, I never had such an emotional connection with a community as I had with SWG, with players who shared the same passion, same happiness I did, that is what Defines SWG from all other MMO's I played before and in the future, there something etheral, deeply connecting when star wars fans come together in a game to play out their lvirtual lives as a Character whether it be a entertainer, bounty hunter, commando, Droid engineer, or a Medic, or the wonderful, sadly missed creature handler. I dont think any Genre can boast such a claim. |

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Solo Content Q&A
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/15/06 9:57:52 PM
If the WoW effect has you frustrated now, just wait. I don't think it's going to get any better. Now investors are going to wonder why games aren't reaching the WoW level of subscribers. And so it's just going to be one game after another trying to compete with those numbers. Instead of trying to make good new games the marketing is going to be the biggest priority. I feel my hobby just taken turn for the worse. And it sucks too, because the only thing left to do is go retro. There's nothing fun to look forward to anymore. But even the older games are changing now in ways that are looking more and more World of Warcraft-y. I feel like a relic from an empire of fun and innovation.
Why? because they arent innovating, not progressing, not being creative, rather than make a cookie cutter recipe out of WOW, they need to take their own ideas, their own concepts, and work with it. Like i said THERE ARE TOO MANY FOLLOWERS AND NOT ENOUGH LEADERS. no company is being a leader and taking a MMO genre and givng it a breath of fresh air, they merely "WOW'izing" their MMO. blatant copycat. I can personally care less about this game, this game the way it is, shouldnt even have a $15 a month price tag, because it mimics too similar to Guild Wars in the instanced linear area, and dungeons, pre scripted AI, and completely boring areas, they create a few things like VIOP. They keeep more or less to the D&D rules set, but they have little content, buggy laggy city, but other than that they are losing focus more than they ever have I canceled within a week, nothing to really say positive about this game. as far as im concerned its a joke, and not worth taking seriously. but hey, if your into it, i wont judge. |

im not gonna flame you dont worry, but we have to be realistic in the notion, if, mind you, if they do actually fix stuff and add actual content its gonna be a while before we see an increase in the quality of the game. but hey there is always hope. i for one never seen such a hardheaded, devoted following to such a bugged MMO. That goes to show you how much we all loved this game, buggy or not, it was our ugly baby, and we loved it regardless. hehhe,So i can feel you on that, there is always that paart of me who hopes that this game gets fixed or improves to something it was close to being originally. Ill admit i been playing since july 2003 off andon, and still pop my head back into the game to see what has stirred up. |

I think one sentence sums up what we all feel when it comes to MMO's THERE ARE TOO MANY FOLLOWERS, AND NOT ENOUGH LEADERS!! explanation?? this would be rather than progress , and revolutionize, and innovate, Companies take the same cookie cutter recipe from award winning innovative MMO's and splice, and clone, or alter it to be similar but not exactly as spectaculer as the latter. Needless to say I think its safe to say we are being MMO'd to death. There are wayyyyy too many MMO's coming out that sholdnt even be out, too many companies hoping to cash in a market to get a piece of the pie. And You can be right to assume they are smart to do so, but, i repeat, but only if they innovate, progress and revolutinize the current market/genre they are attempting to dive into. A short list of the all the pretenders, agree or disagree up to you. AC2, E&B, SWG(after it turned NGE and kicked all the vets to the curb), DnL, AO (absolutely inexcusable revolting launch) DDO (slowly festering into the black hole of MMO oblivion never to be seen again, i give it 6 months a year maybe good riddance, go PLAY GUILD WARS and save $15 a month) any a really missed?? Im tired its 830 am i just came off work hehe so fill in any that pretends but cant reallly contend! |

Umbrood your correct in those points. very well put, These companies should seriiously take heed to the fragile existance that a MMO holds when a Company forgoes its most important customers, VETS. DDO ?? aww man dont even get me started. that POS shouldnt even have a monthly fee. All they offer I can get and more with Guild Wars with no monthly Fee. I foree it dropping off the map in a matter of months. Its one of the few instances where these Companies have such arrogant clout to assume they know what we want and need. This 'silent majority" never materializes, and the Rest of the Players "veterans" who put countless hours into a game into a agame that they once loved, go up in smoke to be pushed to the side for a "subcriber base" doesnt even exist. It boggles the mind the Logic they presume to follow. |

look at ya post bub, its that very mentality you are portraying which is giving them a reason to prevent you from viewing such material. I understand it sucks being "underage" but they do it for a reason, some are a bit more extreme than others, but some are rightfully placed to protect both you and society. The way your view is written is like "wahhhh I can't get what I want so Im gonna pitch a bitch like a little wah wah baby" your fueling the fire with your infantile rant that screams gimme gimme gimme now now now i dont wanna wait til my pubes grow. Like i said it sucks being underage we all went through it, and just like us you do too. Some of these games are a bit violent that although I dont have a kid I wouldnt allow him to view or play some of them at 16 or 17 despite his protest, the protesting alone sets in motions he isnt mature enough to view it, if hes gonna bitch. and I agree with the second post, alot of murders, shooting, stabbings and rapes are by "underage" teenagers that are both rebellious, unstable and have no proper upbringing, which I state also is the parents are equally at fault for not giving them some structure and discipline. Kids are gonna be kids, and they gonna be rebel and feel they are ready especially if an adult says they arent. All apart about transforming from a kid to an adult you gotta earn ya stripes bub like the rest of us. but yeah Ill agree this new law is a bit draconian |

Dungeons & Dragons Online: MMORPG.com Review
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/06/06 4:32:54 PM
id have to rate this game at least a D+/C- range as a potential grade graphics are a B+ good but not extraordinary, plus kinda bogs down anything not running latest system. I can forgive that since its rather new. the VIOP feature is a nice touch i give that a A for inventiveness. BUt the instanced, this is where we get tangled and gnarly. THis game is similar in structure and game play to GuildWars, too similar in fact to justify playing $14.99 for a completly instanced closed game. I played this game for the fact I am a major DDO fan been so since i was 8. but this whole instanced thing where you are forced to play along a 6 man group is ridiculous. I cant tell you how many times i went into the taverns and ask for a group or did high lvl ROGUE LFG most poeople just stand around, or are running around town doing nothing. I can sit there for over an hour or more trying to form a group. I give DDO a major D- on this. I cant even call this a MMO in he traditional Sense, i figure if i wanna do instanced dungeons and areas, id play GUild Wars for god sake.I am very upset that Turbine would charge their customers such a traditional MMO pricing for a Un'MMO like game. I canceled within a week by that time i was alrady lvl 4 rank 4 lol i was gonna level out end game in a matter of a week to 2 weeks after taht. ill never buy or play this game again. it has truly failed. $60 down the drain for me. |

the numbers are inconsequential! this is essentially dead man walking. its dead it just doesnt know it yet. SOE has lost any and all credibility it once had, and will never regain it again given its business practices. SO it is at this point a major mute point to even argue about it. 190k or not this game is short one nail in its coffin to being put to rest. and it is all SOE's doing.

Perpetual Studios Version Discussion « Star Trek Online 5/31/06 3:21:58 AM
I am eagerly amped to try this game. I am a major Star Trek afficiando. love everything regarding Star trek. I am so amped to play this game it isnt even funny. I hope that the game such as combat system, leveling system, way the ships are controlled, and perhaps even the environment we stroll thru as players are done properly. I have faith though, this game is gonna be done well. There is so much you can do in a game such as the Star trek genre and incorporate it into a game model such as MMO. it defies logic on the numerous gameplay elements that can be done. :) lets hope for the best, and keep the faith strong my trekkies!! may STO live Long And Prosper!

What Do You Think Of The SWG Pre-CU Emulator?
General Discussion « Star Wars Galaxies 5/29/06 11:49:31 PM
You can be correct to assume 1 of 2 things, 1 being a more realistic route SOE drops SWG due to public disinterest and drop the game due to finanicial drop not covering development cost (AC2), or less likely but more surprisingly approach would be reintroduction of classic servers that go back to the PRE CU combat and leveling system. stranger things have happened. but given SOE's history its a safe bet to assume the worst. oh and yes, it is true that LA made a substantial amount money off SW franchise, but the SWG MMO population?? 700,000? sorry not likely 500,000-600,000 maybe on average maybe + or - 20,000 here 30,000 there. Living in the dream of classic server is both unrealistic and immature on your part but you are correct that SOE will probably attempt to cash on players hope with the introduction of CLassic servers, and funnel money in with no promise of fixes, added content, quests, etc. Rememeber they invested alot into NGE as of now so they are running with it Smedley, Torres, TH, tiggy all them have stated that PRE CU is not going to happen, deal with the short term pain as they put. Now is there a remote possibility of classic servers?? who knows, stranger things have happened. But do realize this is SOE we are talking about remember SOEs has its own agenda, and your not in it. And as far as WOW being trendy crap, people who suggest WOW is trendy crap are the ones who dont take the time to get far enough into the game to truly appreciate both its game style, and art style.I was a bit pessimistic about the game, but I grew to like it, cause the indepth gameplay, crapload of story arc'ed quests and mini quests, and the PVP is pretty damn solid.but hey,to each its own, you have your own likes and dislikes as we all do, dont crap on another mans parade. if your form an opinion, please remember to base your opinion on facts. and to answer How old am i?? does it matter??? question is, based on your response, how old are you?? |
