http://www.playrequiem.com/default.aspx

Reqiuem has its oficial launch the 19th and will be free to play with an optional cash shop and monthly fee. The game has some cool concepts and theres a lot of quests if you dont like just killing monsters. Theres also dungeons you can group for (require a group to enter) that drop cool stuff. Theres an auction house and a very fun crafting system. Check it out!

Rohan is in open beta. The game is pretty good but still in beta so things are changing left and right. Cash shop needs to be fixed but other than that, its a decent game if you can handle some grinding.

Whats the item system like? One othing I loved in Rohan is that you could forge items and have a lot of stats on them if yoyu got lucky and succeeded. Does Requiem have any crafting or upgrading? How many qualities of items are in Requiem (Like normal, rare, unique, set, ect?)

Are bosses in this game soloable or more group based?

I played both, more Rohan than Requiem and I love Rohan but the grind is ridiculous. Is REquiem less of a grind? Im not a quester, I lie to grind but the grind cant be SUPER crazy. Im talking 10,000+ mobs per level, THAT is crazy. Is requiem that bad?

What does Reqiuem have to offer for late game?

Is group XP good?

You won't see a next-gen game for a long time.

Why? It's NOT because they can't make one it's because companies are afraid of spending A LOT of money making an MMO and if it fails, they are screwed.

Only companies I see capable of making a next gen game and having confidence in it is Blizzard or SoE. Sadly, they probably won't because they make so much money on current projects.

All I see on these forums is AoC is button mashing and repetative questing, yadda yadda. What do you think an MMORPG is?

MMORPG consists of:

Large player base online

Quests to help level

Grinding to help level

Large world to explore

Character customization

The list goes on but i see people on here asking for so much. The arguement about button mashing is laughable. Its a video game, how else would you control your character? Sorry but virtual reality isnt out yet.

Then I see people talkign about quests and how linear the game is. First off, just take a look at WoW. 10+ million players and THAT is a linear quest game. AoC is the same thing, WHO CARES? AoC adds epic mode dunegons which give you 6x exp and you can SKIP the first set of quests and go straight to the mainland around level 18. The game has  a lot to offer but it takes exploration and intelligence to see that.

On top of all this, AoC JUST LAUNCHED, ALL MMO's have a bumpy start. Even WoW took a while to get polished.

Overview: AoC is a VERY good MMO if you like MMO's. When you see a review saying, repetative grind, quests, yadda yadda, that player doesn't like MMO's. Go play Oblivion or GTA 4 but don't degrade this game cause you don't like MMO's.

AoC offers a lot from good graphics, combat, unique classes, PvP, story, guilds, crafting, player made cities, mounted combat, siege warfare. I mean cmon, if you dont have this game by now, GET IT! As for the polish, give it a few weeks to settle down and get patched up and itll be polished.

What resolution?

(Is it worth spending 600$ on a 9800 GX2 1gig ram video card at this point? Would it help my system or is something bottlenecking everything?)

I didnt participate in AoC closed beta, but I am in WAR closed beta. That is all I will say. I dont break any NDA by saying I am in a closed beta.

I honestly believe they will sell over 500K copies within the first week or two. This game is very good and the only people flaming it are fanbois of a different game.

The graphics are better than any MMO on the market.

The PvP is very fast paced and on a large scale. Sieges, guild vs guild, mini-games.

12 UNIQUE classes. Every class is unique. If you just played levels 1-5 you wont see that. Play until 25+ and you will see that every class is absolutely unique. 80 levels in total

PvE raiding, dungeons, crafting, and lots of exploring with a bunch of cool mounts.

This game offers everything and more. Why wouldnt it have 500K + subscribers early on? Only reason I can think of is the economy in the US is doing poor and maybe ppl cant afford the game and/or a new system.

Dont listen to teh negative reviews, this game is going to be revolutionary.

I highly reccomend this to everyone. HAs PvE, PvP, and many unique features you dont see in everyday MMOs.

Sadly I agree, this game is GOOD, but more towards a single player aspect. I hate questing in MMOs and this game is a quest arcf just like LOTRO. Grinding doesnt seem like an option and in my case I love grinding with a cool itemization system and crafting with an economy that is competative.

The open beta client is older than the PvP weekend client. The loading bug and memory leak is known by the dev team. These minor bugs will be fixed by launch because there releasebuild is much better.

Don't count on reviews here, the game isn't released and the open beta is a introduction to like 5% of what you do in the game. Theres no mounts, no crafting, no dungeons, just a few quests and a small area to explore. This game will be as good as promised, these kids are whining because they cant handle the memory leak and/or WoW fans.

The game is based around a few things:

Increasing your character through leveling, finding cool items, trading through the auction house, ect... I enjoy this aspect.

While leveling, you can attack anyone, so PvP is part of the game.

There are dungeons you can level in where the mobs give you 3x XP but are harder to kill.

Overall this game is fun but if you dont like killing mobs a lot than I wouldnt play. WAYYY later in the game there are guild battles, sieges ect but it takes time since you must level.

I'm looking into buying this game but I need to know a few things!

1.) Is it possible to solo your way up to the mid to higher levels? (Mainly cause low levels I bet there arent many players)   <--- Note that I will be playing a melee class. Im not sure which one...

2.) As a new player, is it possible to learn the economy and make some good money without buying adena online? I know thats a sketchy question. Think of it this way. IF im grinding mobs, are there items I can find that I can sell to players for a high price. Some games have crafting materials that drop, ect.

3.) Class selection: Completly in the dark. The L2 website wasnt to clear about actual skills the classes get. Im looking for a MELEE class, not a tank. Ide like to use sword and shield but if only tanks use sword and shield then I'de rather 2h sword or something. What classes use cool armor, good at soloing, melee, and decent PvPers?

4.) Is crafting only for dwarf characters?

5.) Is it possible to play this without dual boxing buff characters?
