I work with a kid (he's 20) that only plays multiplayer games to grief players. That is all he does. He freely admits that he likes to make people want to quit playing any game that they enjoy. He will do and say whatever he can get away with to get players to quit playing and ragequit. I mean actually stop playing altogether. He even said he thought he might have caused one female player to kill herself! He even goes so far as to Wardrive and hack into peoples Wireless Modems and change their Admin passwords so they have no internet service until they get a tech to fix it. He "fixed" a co-workers of ours laptop for their teenage daughter and put a program on it that turned on the webcam and sent the video to his PC so he could spy on her in her room. Her PC savvy boyfriend was doing something on it and found the program and told her Dad about it. The Dad went straight to work and beat a mudhole in the guys ass right in front of everyone in the break room. Then he called the police. Funny shit I must say!   People like him and the OP really exists!

Moral of this story is that some people have no live and need a good asskicking IRL to stop them from being jerks on-line. Noone should take pleasure from other peoples sorrow or take pleasure from ruining peoples game experience.

You nailed it when you said "basic MMO fair". That is true. Still does not make it fail. Just makes it like all the others.

But I don't find it any more dull than any other WoW clone. BTW WoW clone is not a perjorative. It is a good thing.

if thats your cup of tea then guess you would enjoy this game.. for me for such a big project I'd expect little more than a basic wow clone with full VO set in star wars universe but I can't deny many probably like that concept.. for me I like choices in my MMO i like being able to make my class unique and my character look unique and no this isn't just a sandbox thing at all. I also like my game to make me feel like the developers put some real effort into the game and not just tried to sell a big IP with a big name company.  Granted none of this may bother you at all and I'm sure others don't mind playing a mmo with very few options and some don't even notice how closed in and linear this games planets are designed but I do and many others do and it really just destroys the game for me..  I just started playing the TERA beta and while the game is basically a cross of perfect world and AION with slightly more fun combat which overall i'm sure many will not like one thing it offers is some amazing zones and once you get off the starter area its a HUGE open world to explore.. I walked for almost two hours just admiring the enviornments... this is something I never once did in swtor.

I've always thought that the haters of TOR just had either too high expectations of it or just did not understand who this game was catered for.

If you like Sandbox games then no you will not like TOR. If you like PvP kill all players then no you will not like TOR. If you want to get lost in a virtual world like SWG or Darkfall or EVE then no you will not like TOR.

If you like WoW then yes you will like TOR. If you like linear themeparks the yes you will like TOR. If you like story-driven games then yes you will like TOR. If you like BW RPG the god yes you will like TOR.

TOR was made for BW RPG fans. They make the mistake of marketing it to ALL MMO players. They are regretting it now.

Not hit max yet. Only have one 33 Smug GS. I'm actually enjoying the game, not rushing through it like it's a race. Storylines are the best out there, because their is an actual storyline. Gameplay is a blast. Planets are vaired and gorgeous (other than Tat but c'mon its a giant sandtrap!) with well thought out placement of mobs. Datacrons are a nice diversion. Plenty of Crafting nodes to find. Quests are varied and only about 20-25% Fed-ex types. Playerbase is the best I've seen (opinion I know). Don't give a shit about PvP, it never should have been in at launch (BW biggest glaring mistake, fact not opinion).

I'm playing the game as it was designed to be played, like all the other fine BW RPGs out there.

That's basically it. I don't play the game. I wish I did, because for what it is, it is a pretty damn cool game. So you don't play it but anyone who says it is bad has no credibility?  Not everyone is a hater when they have critisism of a game.  Some people say it is fun for so long but I don't like XYZ etc.  They are leaving it to go back to other games. . that they also had some issues with. . Obviously not. You should not read that much into it. I think most people know what I am talking about. I'm all for constructive feedback. SWTOR has tons of flaws, nothing to do with that.

I've not had any ability lag but I sure as hell don't like the new Ability Bar situation! How could you fuck up something so simple. Not to mention the drag and drop changes that were either stealthed in or a bug (like hi-rez textures anyone) that I thought was on my end.

I'm starting to feel like that chick back in 2010 talking to Obama during a rally: "I'm getting tired of defending you and your policies!"

So they gave it a six? Out of what? One of the better worded reviews out there but I can't really tell if he likes it or not.

EDIT: Game is growing on me. I would have given it a low four (out of ten) at first but after playing it for a few days I am enjoying it more. Game really opens up after you get away from the "starter" town.

Still WAAAAAAAY overpriced though. I got it off Gamerkeys.net for about $30. It's worth that. No way in hell is it worth $60. No way. In hell. No. Hell no.

My thoughts on this is that this guild in its infancy was created by a bunch of Trust fund kiddies or just rich people in general with a lot of money to burn. Over the years they have used said money/influence to infiltrate media sites and gaming companies to "appreciate" how awesome a guild they are. Money can buy a lot of E-peen time on a lot of social sites.

Just my little thoughts on this whole "Syndicate created guild gaming as we know it, bow down now" thing I have been seeing not only here but a few other places.

No the SS posted look nothing like that in-game. If you like WoW-ish graphics or apperantly Fable 1 then you will be OK. I used the NVIDIA CP to tweak it some but it still is just OK in my book, but I am an admitted Graphics Whore so take that as you will.

Played about 4 hours so far. It's actually better than I though as far as the RPG and different ways of tweaking your character but I cannot stand the WoW circa 2005 graphics and art style. I have been shouted at in other forums that it is closer to fable 1 than WoW though. Still not impressed.

BTW it is WAAAAAAY overpriced ATM. Not sure if I said that.

EDIT: Oh yeah by the way it looks NOTHING like the SS posted on the OP. Every since the whole TOR "hi-rez textures was a bug" shit I have become very attuned to this!
