as others have said EQ wasn't a themepark MMO, tho anymore there is pretty much only 2 catagories when people decide to "label" an mmo. everQUEST's name is very deceptive considering there was almost no quests in the game at all. and there was no hand holding, you went out and explored finding your own way through the game. there wasn't some npc saying "hey go take this food ration to so and so in the next town wich is south on the road, go left at the fork then make a right at the T you can't miss it".

Kinda like when you're at a real life Themepark and you see the sign when you enter the place saying "you are here" and everything is mapped out for you.

well for one since you obviously never played the game (or you'd know) those ones listed as 1/150 and 1/200 are repeatable quests and thats the max number of times you can REPEAT the quest.

also that level 25 quest is a SPY quest wich means he has to go through a Rift into Amsodian territory to TRY and complete, and you can't even delete the Spy quests (couldn't last time i checked). hell at 40 i still have like a 23 spy quest i can't complete because the rift i need to go through is level capped and i'm too high to go through

yeah i jail broke my ipod touch and had GBA,GB,NES,SNES, and sega genisis emulators on it.

on my computer tho i have the PS1 emulator on here to play Vagrant Story

actually he's not killing anyone at all, its a coward tactic that elyos always do. he pulls them into the agro mobs (wich does 0 dmg) so the mobs can kill the players for him. countless times i seen raid force of elyos pushed back to that place by pugs, they sit in there and and try to get people to follow them in so the NPCs kill players since they can't.

I play a Spirit Master so i've been grinding even tho my quest log is full at 30, on a Spirit Master atleast it is INSANELY fast to grind because i can solo elite mobs up to 5 levels above me. with rest exp and an amulet at level 40 level 42 elites give me 525,000 exp per kill. but today i think i'm going to clear out my quest log and see how much more the quests give. so I'll get back to the guy that asked how much more quests give now since the patch.

i do remember examples of quest exp before and after the patch and it was up to around 4x exp per turn in. But i can't confirm this yet.

one game i found fun off and on for FPS or 3rd person view death matches was S4 its a f2p also so worth a shot. gear is only for show nothing for stats or anything, was more based on skills i enjoyed it alot but just something to goof off on honestly.

not sure if alot of people know how they've been catchin botters, but they have a crew of gms going around watching people that have been reported for botting to see if its true of not. the gm was on the other day and we'd tell him where we see them he'd go to where we was and make sure it was true or not.

they've been banning the gold sellers AND gold buyers as well, and IMO gold buyers being the root of the problem.

you was probably one of those people that some how got tricked into that phishing scam back when you was playing. NC spams the servers warning people about the phishing scams going on. there was one that pretended to be NC giving away stuff as a promo or something. some how people couldnt tell it wasn't NC in the LFG channel.....

not sure about it ever going F2P but i will agree with you, it has a HORRIBLE community. Hands down easily THE worst MMO community in any MMO i ever played and i have played 99% of the MMOs out there. and i'm not talkin about the ganking but just how people react,talk and treat each other in that game. Barrens chat has NOTHING on the chat in AoC.

if you are wanting to do alot of instances templar/Cleric is the best option. but leveling will kinda suck and be boring is you don't pick classes you both like and you'll burn out playing classes just because they are best suited for getting groups.

that said for me i play a Spirit Master wich can solo elites when done right wich is insane amounts of exp. But i have duoed a few times and went really well with a Sorc, would be just as good with a Ranger too.

I hope it is a melee personally, and one capable of acting as MT (using avoidence instead of mitigation)... Tanks seem one of the hardest classes to come by due to their ltd PvP capability before end game, at least on my server anyhow.

meh not me, hoping for a HIGH damage dealer like EQOA monks. but that thing the class right before it in the video (wich appears  to be a templar or tank of some sort) should have enough appeal to draw in more tanks. that thing he did with his shield looked pretty sweet.

but if i remember right the npc monks in game was damage dealers/debuffers

IMO it looks like a Monk class, there is some monk npcs in game already and most of the moves they show in the video they do them.

meh as far as gear goes i never cared if other people could see it or not. but my spec on the other hand and how i have my character built is my buisness, and i have it set up how i like it. i don't need some tool that thinks he knows everything about my class because his friend plays one trying to tell me how i should play my character. and would deffinitly hate it if people could see every little thing i've done in a game anytime they please.

Get it bought!  I've been playing since Beta and it's been getting better and better.

3.0 will rock the MMO world, the people who are talking it down are just trolls who have already made a stand against the game and are continuing on any bottom of the barrel arguments they can think of.

I bought it, but I am having trouble deciding which server to play on. 

what i woudl suggest is make a character of the race you want, then go to the map and look at the abyss. see if its balanced on how many forts each side has or if your side is being completely dominated. some servers are completely lop sided on fortress taking. the populations are pretty even but some servers the abyss is dominated by one side or the other. like mine the abyss was dominated by the elyos because it seems more powergamers rolled elyos on that server where the asmo have been taking their time leveling. but as we catch up on levels we're taking forts more and more a few times we had more than they did. so its evening out now.

Most Wow players aren't like that, but the forums on this site are riddled with rabbid fanboys that give the game a bad name, where you can't post anything good or bad about a completely different game without these no life mouth breathers posting about WoW this and WoW that wich never has anything to do with the topic. and we all know who they are.

Yes, even previous WoW.... at release, it was insane... I couldn't walk 20 feet without being spammed by "Buy my Gold" messages... Hell - even now... you can't go to the bank without the /say spam of "buy my gold" (and by "now" I mean within the last 6 months which is the last time I played)

 

Anyways this is another topic and I don't want to hi-jack THIS thread.... BTW - they had 400k pre-order sales and I believe were up to 700k last I checked.... 27k out of that is nothing (and to be fair there's probably another 100k accounts that are bots)... truthfully I could care less about this. If Aion has a million subs or 100k subs it makes very little difference to my game play... what DOES hurt my game play is Bots - everywhere... they are addressing it..... and rather quickly as of late. I don't see the issue (or your argument really)...

 

Yes all games have botters and gold sellers so more then others and that goes back to game design.
 

All I am saying is simply that banning 27k botters will not stop botting because they will just create another account.   My point about the numbers is that you cannot trust the numbers companies put out because they count these type of accounts.

if they make more accounts they'll get banned again and again and eventually they won't make money off it anymore because NC is also banning the gold buyers so less and less are buying the kinah. the last shop i saw selling kinah is was down to 2$ for a mil wich is nothing and takes a long time to make that million kinah. and as i said they're banning the gold BUYERS was well so idk too many people that would be dumb enough to risk their account and all their work for 2$.

included in the bans are also the morons that buy the kinah.

on topic, the video looks great. and yes to me that does look like a monk class REALLY looking forward to that!

and to the people talking about the gold spam and bots, as of last week 90% of the botters i was seeing in game on a daily baises are gone and more and more keep getting banned. and they're ALSO banning the idiots that buy the gold, a former guildie of mine (who we kicked because he was bragging that he bought some epic orb off the AH with kinah he bought) was banned from the game for buying kinah. and spam has been been minimal for about a month or so now. and they keep banning the shops advertising gold sites regularly on my server (yustiel)

they have been REALLY crackin down on the bots on Yustiel anyway, i read all the servers are having crackdowns as well tho.
