not really cause games like fallout 3 and oblivion get incredibly boring playing by yourself

I'm curious to know why no developer has given players the ability to create their own dungeons yet. I imagine if it were designed carefully, it could be done with minimal to no exploits. Seems like it would be a no brainer to me to make it so players could create game content, which would greatly cut back new content creation costs.

cause most of them suck and are a waste of time

This is not about fairness or RL money. This is about RMT affecting the quality of the core game by its existence. I wouldn't care at all if the RMT did not affect the core game, for all I care they could spend their entire fortune in ingame items. Unfortunately, for that to happen, the RMT has to dump down the core game. Which ultimately affects the quality of the game I play and the time I spend.

what do you care if i buy x sword and you grind for it?

Whatever game you're paying money to skip content instead of adding content is a flawed game. If that game was of good quality, you'd be gaining that sword as a natural progression of your PvP gameplay.

yea but there are people out there that will get it faster and make it unfair

because i don't like to sit at my computer 24/7 grinding out gear if i deem that it will be better to buy the item than to spend my time and money getting it i'll buy it

Should I repeat myself, since you didn't bothe reading my original post? Everytime an item gets introduced into the RMT shop, the quality of the core game takes a nose dive. The chores become longer and the grinds become heavier, so the appeal of those RMT items become stronger. The core game suffers as a result.

I have no problem paying more in subscription fees, as long as the core game quality remains in tact.

omg i can buy the item! thank you game company for saving my tons of hours so i can go out and talk to girls!

man... you're missing the point. he's saying that if it weren't for RMT, you wouldn't be spending tons of hours in the first place. while playing the game you would naturally come across those items or whatever you needed. here's an example:

subscription game... obtain an epic sword by running a dungeon that you would run anyway because it's fun.

microtransaction game... pay money to have the sword right now and then run the dungeon with it already equipped.

in both instances the dungeon content was created using the money you paid, but which is more enjoyable? if you still don't understand, gtfo and talk to girls instead.

i'd rather buy the sword and go pvp

It's not just customizations. There are a ton of people like me that are not even going to play that game because of it. There are hard to find and rare items you can simply just purchase. The whole idea is retarded.

so the game gets balanced who cares

No thats not balance, thats severe imbalance! You know exactly what this is, stop trying to hide behind your own naivety. Companies love micro-transaction's now adays, and games are suffering for it. Me and about 4-5 of my friends all loved the sims, and we didnt care about paying for an expansion here and there, because they were all different and you didnt HAVe to buy any of them.

But when Sims 3 came out we all boycotted it, why you ask? Its not because of balance or us wanting better customization, its because they purposefully left shit out of the game, and put it online to buy just to make a few extra bucks. You dont have to be a genius and you dont need some huge educated reasoning to figure out that is just plain wrong for the customer.

If they had discounted the sims to lets say, 20-30 bucks it would have been resonable, but I am not, nor will I ever pay top dollar for a game that is left with part of the content missing.

And then some people bring up MMO's "Yea well MMO's are never finished, so why pay for them?" Because with an MMO, they arent saving the content for later, they want to get as much content out as possible to keep the players playing. MMO's are the exception because especially now adays, developers dont want to dick you around, they want you to get in, have fun and keep doing the same repitious action, and they want you to stay for months and years.

Thats why a good MMO is all about Content, with not content its not an MMO, its just another game that you pick up at walmart beat in 6 hours and never play again (Stranglehold anyone? haha).

i don't have to spend time grinding out an item to keep the game balanced in pvp sweet! i'll do it

sounds good

you kiddies that cry about microtransactions seem to forget video games cost more and more to create these days than they used to

if i get a new innovative game because of microtransactions then i'll support it

i'm perfectly fine with champions online having microtransactions and a monthly fee

I wouldn't mind paying a higher subscription fee, if the costs have indeed increased. That would both keep the quality of the game high and the developers afloat. Unfortunately RMT dumps down the quality of the game.

Lets hope that I'm wrong and CO will not end up to be the dumped down version of what could have been without the RMT shop. Best case scenario, all this ant-RMT uproar will keep the cash hungry developers in check, so you don't get to play a F2P quality game with a subscription attached.

Edit: I also find the "kiddies" comment hilarious. I would advice against such comments in the future. You may be an adult (barely), but you certainly don't sound mature.

haha let me get this straight

so you'd rather be forced to pay more monthy than have the option to buy things at your own will?

oh god this game looks ugly

No.

It's because they're greedy.

They've lost a lot of players because of this, which is a shame, because it looks like such a fun game.

So can someone answer my question?

so why dont' you play the game for what it is and not buy and customizations that are released

I was very disappointed in this game. Graphics and music are nice but ALL other aspects are bad. Really bad. I wasted 2 days of my life playing this piece of crap and I want those days back.

you probably want your money too

I played a trial so luckily there was no money involved.

damn i preordered the collectors edition

For a game like Champions Online where customs and customization play a big part, it is.

so if there is a specific customization you want then pay for it
they aren't that much

How about no? I got discouraged by the double payment system to even beta test the game.

how about you quit crying?

50 bucks for game covers development costs

15 bucks goes to the server and content development

micro transactions go to develop new character customizations

Roleplaying is dumb. Why would even want to act like a orc or undead or gnome or whatever. and talk like a dwarf or act like a

dwarf. Im not trying to troll, but its seriously sad that people actually get into a mmo SO much that they act like a character in the game.

seriously if you wanna act like an orc go try out for lord of the rings lol
