Since I've played the game from the beginning of beta this is probably the first "hyped" mmo ever
that im not going to preorder. Why? Because I just don't feel like this is anything above World of
Warcraft at all. Yes I do hate that comparisons between WoW and any other mmo, but tbh WoW
gives you the feeling of being in control of your character especially in the moving part. It's quite
hard to understand, but serious gamers will probably. WhO simply won't give you this feeling while
you play. It's more like standing infront of a mob and hitting the one rotation over and over. And yes
I do know that this is how it goes nearly the same way at WoW, but it's all about the animations
and lenght's of the 1v1 PvE fights.
I don't even want to talk about the PvP part of the game, even if it's "the one" thing that shall make
a difference to all the other mmo's out there. The whole gameplay is just way too motionless and
that is actually the one thing you will feel about this game the first few minutes you play.
A game can have an amazing lore and stuff behind it, but if I'm playing a mmo it's the first few
minutes I'm running around with my character where it's decided if I like the game in the long
term or not. Character control and movement is one of the most if not the most important thing
about a mmo nowadays and WhO... well see for yourself and decide if it's your kind of style. If
you are less of an action, movement and reaction gamer it's probably the game for you. tbh it's
not much more that buttonsmashing over and over again w/o nearly the same "feeling" of control
you only can get at WoW nowadays.
I do hate WoW myself, more because of frustration that there is nothing comparative since so
many years. But I still do play it and I'm not feeling like hopping onto another ship just because I
do hope for salvation from the World of Warcraft. WhO won't beat it, sadly.
