I just resubbed last week after not playing for a few years, I too was a bit overwhelmed. So I just rolled a new toon and started playing, I really like the fact that you can log into COH play a few missions and log out you don't have to plan on playing for hours at a time unlike most MMO's. |

General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 6/15/11 12:55:03 AM
How is the pop in Vanguard now? I played at launch for a few months but never found a guild I fit into. |

Gothic III oh hell really any of the Gothic games. Two Worlds is pretty horrible as well. |

I think the are trying to make every powerset different from each other. CO and COH both have more power sets but how many of those sets have the same power just with a different name and animation? I do agree they should add a few other powersets or add more powers to the talent trees, that way they give the players more to choose from. |

DC Universe Online: Let's Hear from YOU
News Discussion « General Discussion 12/08/10 1:32:03 AM
I've played for a few weeks now and here is a few of my thoughts about DCUO. 1) Yes there is only 3 travel powers right now, which is ok maybe they will add Teleport or a super jump or somthing like that but those 3 powers are the most used travel powers in comic books. 2)The powersets really need some work. Right now there is Mental, Ice, Fire, Nature, Gadgets and Magic. I know they really need to add a few more power sets, like a pure strength, electricity, energy and a few others. There is just too many players running around with the same powers right. 3) The game is fun, to me that's a reason to play any game rather it be an MMO or a SPG. Seeing the different heroes and villians around the cities make u feel like u are really a part of the DC Universe. I've seen Zoom, Joker, Flash, Batwoman, Scarecrow, Cyborg, Nightwing, Starfire, Parasite, Power Girl, Bane, DeathStroke, H.I.V.E, Raven, Brother Blood, Felix Faust, and many others just in the first 12 levels I have played so far. 4) I have not teamed up with one, except for one alert mission and that was pretty fun. I'm not sure but I don't think there is a LFG option right now and I don't see too much action in the chat windows either.
5) I'm wondering what other cities and places they have planed, you can only go thru Gotham City so many times. |

How many new mmorpg clients have you purchased In the last five years where you didn't subscribe after the first free month?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/07/10 1:32:16 AM
I've paid for a played only the first free month: Champions Online, Final Fantasy Online, Fallen Earth, Linage 2, Star War Galaxies and WOW. Didn't pay anything for EQ2EX but only tried it for 2 days. Games I've played longer then the first 30 days City of Heroes Everquest 2 Shadowbane Currently trying Darkfall only my first week in. |
|
|
I just bought Darkfall on Friday and have played maybe 8 hours total. I have run into a few people here and there but very little activity in any of the chat windows. I'm going to play thru the 30 trial, but not sure if I will play for it any longer then that. |

EA giving free game to disgruntled APB buyers
General Discussion « All Points Bulletin (APB) 9/27/10 11:40:10 PM
Actually most retail stores if not all buy the product out right. I've seen many cancelled MMO's still for sale and a few games that have gone FTP still being sold in many stores. I don't think there is way to for the stores to get their $$ back at all. It's just like if they bought 10,000 copies of a horrible game that few people picked up, they can't return it so they might a well sell as many as they can. |

A burned-out gamer, looking for a world to pass time in
LFGame « General Discussion 9/25/10 11:14:49 PM
I have thought too about playing Aion, but I have not heard the best things about it. I'm not a WOW hater, but after trying it many times I just cannot get into it. I downloaded DDO played for all of 30 mins and deleted it. SW: TOR looks good but I'm not sure about that one either. As I'm writing this I'm downloading Runes of Magic going to give it another try. |

A burned-out gamer, looking for a world to pass time in

I'm in the same boat too. I had subscribed to AOC but got bored, retried CO but got bored finally resubbed to COH and played that for a few months but game is getting boring. I've tried almost everything out right and nothing really appeals to me. I want to give DCU a try but still debating on it.
I think my biggest problem is I play mostly during the night when less people are on and I can never seem to find a guild that feels like home if u know what I mean or maybe I just choose the wrong servers.

DC Universe Online: The Lack of Crafting
News Discussion « General Discussion 9/09/10 10:21:37 PM
What's the point of crafting in a super hero MMO anyway? I can understand a fantasy mmo. But super heroe's don't need armor, weapons, potions, necklaces, or rings for the most part. It just wouldn't make sense to have crafting in DCU. I know there is the invention system in COH but I have used it less then a handful of times. |
|
|
I have played a few times in the night time and in all honest the search shows less then 10 people playing. |

Ebay sellers of "Tabula Rasa" are knowingly committing fraud
General Discussion « Tabula Rasa 8/29/10 1:00:08 PM
I seen many extinct MMO's for sale at a big chain storemany times and I really want toask them why would they sale a game that people can no longer play. Most stores will not let u return a game once u open it, so the store makes their $$ and the customer is stuck with a game they cannot play.
This same store also has many mmo's they used to have a subscription fee but went F2P later. |

To return or not to return, that is the question...
General Discussion « Champions Online 5/27/10 6:40:39 PM
I have the same ?'s as u. I quit AOC went back to EQ2 but just not having fun over there. So today I resubbed to CO just to check it out again. |

I'm only up to level 13, but still having fun and enjoying it. You know every MMO has haters, hell there is even people who hate everything SOE puts out. I don't pay much attention to them and I will keep playing as long as I'm having fun! |
|
|
I just figured hell for $4.95 why not giv it a shot there not much to lose. I'm just looking for something fun to play for awhile, I think those first 30 days will give me enough time to decide if I wish to continue or not. |
|
|
Well after cancelling Champions Online and Fallen Earth this month, I've decided to give Age of Conan a try. I know it's not the best MMO out there, but so far I'm enjoying it. I downloaded the 7 day trial from Fileplanet then after 2 days went to upgrade subscription and what do I see 75% off the game price so for $4.95 I get the full game and 30 days of free time, not too freaking bad. Thats less then a combo meal at Carl's Jr.! |

I had the same problem, it took me almost 24 hours to get everything downloaded. I turned off everything I could think that might interfer but it would still freeze after downloading a bit. I just closed it out and kept relaunching the updater I swear it took me at least 60 times, once I had maybe 1 gig left to download it went smooth though.
Pretty nice game so far, I'm only level 3 but so far so good!
