Bashing SOE should be ever gamer's true passion in life. It is the best IRLMMORPG in existence and well worth accumulating massive XP in that skill. These are the people who destroyed Star Wars Galaxies. They deserve bashing and sensible firms would not partner with them. |

Can't you pull it from Lex / Nex? |

The one thing that people don't talk about on MMORPG.COM is Neverwinter Nights franchise. I ran a persistent world for 2 years, and I think if you are into D&D style fantasy, you can have some great multiplayer experiences in that space. |

Agreed. This game has potential. Portable bases and control points similar to SWG faction bases. AFS faction mission and promotions to allow access to faction pets like portable mechs. Forward bases that you can set up with persistence. This game has amazing potential. I agree that it is asocial I have a terrible time grouping. |

Player housing is critical to game longevity. I played SWG from Dec 03 to Oct 05. The ability to modify the in game world and have PvP and other content that is generated through player interaction really hinges upon customization. We had total customization of territory, custom crafted items, and custom appearance modification at any time during game play. The more control you have over your avatar, house location, custom possession, conveys and encourages a feeling of ownership. SWG had a model of what mature gamers look for in a game. Social and interactive spaces that co-exist with the in-game narrative and action elements. Rich crafting, housing, and customziation is an imperative to have long term, mature players.

If SOE did purchase my favorite game (DAOC at this time), then I would most certainly cancel. I have had personal communications with the most senior executives in that firm. Horrid, ignorance and arrogance is the only way to describe the management. I extend SOE boycott to the entire firm. I will never buy Sony Products of any the consumer electronics nature, and I even cringe when I see something in their content pool. We need platforms that bring back independent gaming and enable creativity. Their play is for revenue. This is a good thing, as we want firms to profit while providing us content. SWG was the best game ever for me, but I could not continue to give that firm revenue. I am pleased to see all the games being produced. However, I can't even play Star Trek, because they chose to use SOE's platform administration and hosting solution. |
