LOL
My dear child, now I put away the modem, sit here to the comp, here it this game called Transport Tycoon, play with this after you wrote your lesson. No, you can't talk with your friends online to share ideas, but here is the mobile phone instead to call me if you have problem while I'm having fun elsewhere.
Yes, if you realise that that parent is actualy you then you shouldn't call yourself  "parent".
Old rule, if you try to stop a child to not to do something without a real reason/explanation, then they will overpower you.
Back on topic.
The idea is good if parents are watching their childrens to not to be addicts. Btw will this be a basic lego or the advanced (technic) one?

The question is the best and the worst MMO game community. I can only speak from those what I know well, so here is my opinion.

Best:

- Anarchy Online: not too friendly and forget socialising, but mostly met with helpful players.
- CoV: same with AO

Worst:

- Entropia Universe: RCE sickness, like the real world

Just to chime in on the discussion, but Planetside isn't an MMORPG either, among others on the game list. MMORPG is the commonly accepted acronym, and was a good choice for a domain name for this site - but you're pushing that too far to try and dismiss ad hominem a subgenre of games that you don't enjoy. It may be called MMORPG.com, but for the purpose of this site it might better read "MMO.com". Don't forget that.

That wasn't my reason for posting, though. I thought I should point out that you're all looking at the wrong aspect of the article.

Bragg had identified a means to purchase land in Second Life below market rates. After he purchased thousands of U.S. dollars worth of virtual real estate in this manner, Linden Lab summarily terminated his account, prompting his lawsuit.

He probably used a script or a hack to improperly buy land against the TOS (likely one of the guys which prompted many changes to the land buying system.) If there's any reason he should lose the case, it's that. He violated the spirit of the agreement intentionally, and is trying to get off on a technicality.

I can only agree with you. If SL shouldn't be here then why There.com is here? Why the so called casino game (Entropia Universe) is here? Because MMO's are not about playing anymore, it is a lifestyle now.

Back on topic. Market manipulation is not welcome, for example if this happens in Entropia then probably the same would happen. When talking about SL maybe the old "players" remember the First Lands. That was a small land what you could buy for yourself and was very cheap. Many ppl tried to ask the newbies to buy FL then resell to them, mostly the newbies didn't realised what they are doing (after they sold the land they could only buy for a much higher price and the money what they got for the land is much more below that). Then those who bought up FL's made bigger parcels and resold them. LL answer was to remove FL (and they make another reason to why not to have a premium account).

I'm too annoyed when I see an MMO that there is no risk to die. It makes you lazy. Die? Who cares? But if you die and loose something it makes you thinking when playing. Someone mentioned the level difference in PvP. In AO if you want to kill a much lower level mob then you then the higher level player will get much less XP and credits (don't know if in PvP too). Maybe that can be a small solution for some cases to not to fear that much. Or maybe if you die on the field you can revive, but on a very far and random revive place.

Nice gesture. All company should follow this step when they have difficulties and say nothing but everything is ok in their eyes.

Mostly easy to detect if a female avatar is male in reality, because most of them simply can't play there role. On the other hand females sometimes have the same behaviour like a childish male.
What I noticed that in many MMO the players tries to get advantage with this, call it another type of scamming. For example I noticed a blondy in Borealis (AO) with give me credits plz (or something similar) name, mosty at the same location, dressed sexily (and don't forget how ugly the AO avatars are...). Wonder if (s)he ever succeed with that cheap trick... But I also noticed many helpful avatars who helps everyone without question or ask, but not with money. And that should be normal.

Yeah, the big problem is that most ppl see SL as a perv heaven, however shouldn't be (anyone mentioned that you can create what you want?). And I wonder about those who always complains about that just see fick and fuck everywhere, what the hell did they looked for? I just fly around sometimes aimlessly (because search is not good again...) and very little part of sl is sick.Mabye I was just in the right places...

When I tried There.com I liked the system that you must submit to approval first if you want to create something. Only one problem with that that you need a staff only for that task (not your problem anyway, just need to wait). The idea to check all pictures is good.

Finaly.
Met with this situation a month ago I think, someone said that in a group chat. Checked the avatar, was verified. No idea what else LL done then (ban probably, but what else?). Now at least I can show something for others when points to SL only as a welcome place for perverts.

The trees are a bit ugly right now for me, the other things looks good. I hope that won't be a mixture of an FPS and Z.

There was a Massive mag giveaway on this site (what I still didn't got, no mail, nothing and months passed) but I can't find the add now. But... if Massive is no more then why I can subscribe to the magazine?

I think the sweat limit and the ammo in loot was two good idea. Bad that MindArk have more wrong steps for us gamers then good ones.

In MMO's the only thing what I hate is the money "cheat". If you are rich in RL you can buy the best weapons, items, even avatars, but where is the fun then? Nowhere.
