I agree with the OP, all media material that been released so far is carefully selected and hyped. I suspect the closed-beta testers see significant problems in the game post-20 but are restricted by the NDA.

It doesn't take a genius to pick up the leaks here and there by disgruntled testers highlighting the lack of siege or endgame content.

And my personal opinion: PvP minigames = retarded.

I have a feeling the MMO they're developing is Diablo, seems like a natural progression of the series.

On the horizon there's AoC, Gods and Heroes, TCoS. Very exciting and unique games

I agree with you on the definitions.

A quest should be about a journey of exploration, suspense, thrill and excitement.

And it should be intricately linked to the culmination of the "end-game"/peak of one's character in the game's storyline.

I agree with the poster that DAoC had done it fairly well. Old school Epic quests were somewhat 'quest-like' and the rewards were just AMAZING!

Cheers for the replies. I did sign up for the Open Beta but being in UK I had alot of problems obtaining the client or even creating an account.

I always play on US servers but Turbine redirected me all the time to the European portal lol.

Anyways I am returning to my home country and the proxy won't be an issue hence the qn.

If anyone can get PvP right in a MMO.. it's Mythic. I agree with alot of the posters here too, DAoC when released was a timeless classic!! Then they made MISTAKE AFTER MISTAKE and the game degenerated into a pile of sh*t. For me at least, WAR is akin to DAoC 2 in a different skin. I am ready with a whole guild of DAoC vets to relive the old times hopefully, only time will tell.

The MMOs I'm really looking forward to in 07' are:

1) AoC - developed from the ground up with PvP and sieges in mind

2) WAR - Mythic and DAoC, need I say more

3) Aion - NC Soft has seldom failed to deliver (except for Auto Assault)

4) Chronicles of Spellborn - Unique combat and PvP system (but there are mixed reviews about it)

These are higher quality MMOs with an arguable innovative edge unlike the other generic MMOs being churned out faster than you can say George Washington.

9 Dragons is really terrible, I tried the Viet OB and it is nothing new at all. Graphics-wise even Silkroad Online beats it flat.

As for WoW's BC, I'm just dead bored of the whole WoW system and find it unlikely that I may go back, depends on how the PvP end game is finalised.

Anything in a game/mmorpg is frankly just pixelised 1s and 0s and is absolutely not quantifiable to an accomplishment whatsoever.

It's fine if you would like to feel like you've accomplished anything but sadly you're just in a state of self-delusion.

It would be closer to the truth to acknowledge that you spend copious amounts of time "entertaining" yourself.

I tried the trial and unfortunately I'm going to have to say it's a pretty bland and boring game.

I know people are gonna say the fun starts at higher levels but if that's the case it's just poor design on NC Soft's part.

It's the same game, just list the main release and remove the 2 xpacs so that there is room to add 2 other games to provide better information for visitors to the site.

Average out the 3 ratings if you must.

Don't waste your time.
