Sinfay	a good game General Discussion « Voyage Century 3/26/08 12:44:18 AM Here is my viewpoint IGG, please stop violating California Law Recently at many gaming sites, most noteably mmorpg.com, there has been an obvious marketing campaign to raise Voyage Century game ratings by posting and submitting misleading statements (in bad english to boot) under the guise of a game player. IGG is subject to California law, (per IGG ToS) and as such may be found guilty of violating a number of laws if this activity persists. Remember any US citizen (and they do not have to be players of Voyage Century) may feel misleaded and/or deceived if full disclosure of these paid individual(s) is not stated. The backlash of this misleading marketing campaign has already started. I wouldn't want to see a class-action lawsuit. Thank you for your time. The State of California - State and Consumer Services Agency LEGAL AFFAIRS 400 R Street, Suite 3090 Sacramento, CA 95814-6200 DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS FACT SHEET ADVERTISING Disclosure of legal name and street address. Generally, a business that uses a post office box, mail drop, or telephone answering service to advertise the sale of consumer goods or services must include in the advertisement its legal name and the complete street address where the business is actually operated. (B&P Code § 17538.5) False and misleading advertisements. An advertisement that is false or misleading is prohibited in California. An advertisement that fails to disclose information or that is ambiguous or is partially, or even literally, true may be found unlawful if the public is likely to be deceived by it. (B&P Code § 17500)

Sinfay	LOL rating General Discussion « Voyage Century 3/25/08 11:46:10 PM I mean don't get me wrong it is a fun game and I played it for a while. It was just missing something for stickyness. But when a company pays people to go to popular sites and do an all out forum/rating blitz it really turns folks off. I remember Dark and Light did this and the backlash was tremendous. It is as if people from outside North American (and I am generalizing again sorry) thinks gamers from NA are too stupid to connect the dots of an army of day-old raters/forum posters padding ratings and making obvious "marketing" comments in forums.

General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 5/17/07 9:47:33 PM National Public radio (NPR) (yeah I have a long commute to work in the morning) has a short series on Gold farmers and interviews them in China. If you google NPR Gold Farmer you should find it. Some interesting facts include: -~20% of US gamers buy gold/services from these guys ~ They get about $100 USD per month ~ They are not solo, they have enough folks to do a raid. ~ They see themselves as doing a valuable service, and say players are very thankful. It's like trying to stop people from taking drugs. There will always be sellers, because there will always be buyers. For that playertype, (competitive) it's like telling him he should use a huffy for his weekend mountain bike race. He'll just look at you like your nuts ~S~

Just curious Acually I'm a sadist, but that's neither here nor there. My brother loves puzzle games, I find them to be unfun, but I don't stand outside his house yelling insults at him. Neither would I. However, if he tells me his game is broke and missing a piece, I don't tell him he's not "hardcore," I tell him to return the game for a functioning one. And when the guy next door, who is employed with the marketing company tries to tell me that the puzzle game is "great" I laugh in his face and tell everyone I can what a joke it is. ha. ha.
