Man that  will suck if they really move like that, the graphics are nice though. Those moves are real crap, straight out of the 80s.

Check out Antigua if you want round the clock PvP opportunity. It is the un-official Australian New Zealand server and has a healthy euro population as well. If you want challenge roll anything but Spanish as they won the very first map ever in PoTBS and will most likely win again. British don't really need more.

EvE is the only game like it, that alone is worth the admission price.

Would like to try this game but can't seem to find a free trial but keep seeing it mentioned. Is this a referral?

Advance your character not level your character. Could mean exploring to find a passageway really.

Good gods you housing nuts are everywhere.

In PoTBS you do not have to PvP. If you play a smart game you will never see a red zone if you do not want to. EvE is a great game, played it for years. That said, there are so many ways to deal with the 6 man lvl 50 gank groups that there really should be no whining.

Someone stuck at port call for an escort in Nation chat. If you are a Freetrader running through a red zone with a big ship full of who knows what, well even in EvE(which alot of people are using for reference) you will get blown up. That would be a freighter going through low sec.

Fact of the matter some folks want to play the games on easy mode and I for one am glad there are Devs out there that don't adhere to the squeaky wheel way. This goes for EvE also. Although when they implemented warp to zero this could be argued.

If a game is not for you don't play it. But don't spout a bunch of drivel about it because it made you mad it was not as easy as you wanted. There is a 30 second window that all these bait ships mates have to get into the instance. You do not have to pvp in PoTBS.  No matter what all the easy mode's would have you think.

It is going through some growing pains as they are working on balance issues and content but it is a very young game. It has been in developement  and testing for a bit but those are very different things than live with thousands of players.

It is a very good game with a fun PvP concept. You will lose ships that you have to work at replacing. If you venture into the red zones you may get sank, if you flag yourself to get that extra open sea speed anyone can attack you and more than likely will.

yeah ok. casual: the term used to describe gamers who have to work to pay for their games.

Or those that aren't basement virgins, either one works I guess.

If you give better/faster rewards in PvP, than it is forced.  As simple as that.

No you are not being forced to PvP, the areas are quite clear on the map. You do not have to PvP at all. You can play the game all you want and avoid PvP. Where is the forced PvP? Please explain it as saying "It's as simple as that" is really quite an ignorant statement. You do not have to PvP if you choose not too. Now it is as simple as that.

Where did you see that the game was being made for EvE players? I can't find that mentioned anywhere but here. Thank the gods they are different.

 Good stuff mate.

I reluctantly bought the game after release, had friends in Beta, and after 2 weeks shot my disc with my shotgun, pull. A friend sent me a 10-day almost a month ago so I tried it again.

Became much more playable for me, still the chunking but meh. I will occasionally come across some weird bug and get dropped but overall it is playable and fun.

Though it is not yet the game I hope it will become it is entertaining.

You will see the rabid vanbois defending the game but you will also see the bitter ex-girlfriend/boyfriend like folks that will go too every thread and attack it. Gotta wonder about them both and thank the gods there are games like EvE where you can just hunt them down and watch them assplode.

Corporations?

Deciding which direction you want too go will be a big help for you, i.e. missioning, ratting, Pirate etc...If you are unsure look for Eve University as they will help you on your way. You will need a way to make isk(money) as you will lose a ship eventually.

Also try not to call them quests as it will get ya flamed, they are missions.

Pick me, pick me! I would like an invite also please.

thanks

You sir are full of poop. For someone who has played for so long you managed to miss all the game except the getting blown up part. I am guessing you gave it a shot thought you could jump right in and skip the tutorial and got smacked down. When you realized that it was not so easy you came here.

RIP eve-tv ?

 Benny Hill is entertaining.

how did I miss the 10-day trial? ah well too bad I have been wanting too try VG.

I smuggle Booster's(drugs) throughout the universe. There are 2 well known player alliances that make these and are often recruiting folks for this line of work. Also fun is ninja gas harvesting in warzones.  Then smuggling the gas out for booster production. Good luck mate.

How soon can i pvp

I fly in a T2(tier 2) fitted cruiser all the time. I also fly a T2 fitted frigate alot. I win some I lose some. I have alot of fun either way. That is really what it is about. You can PvP the day you are hatched or wait years. When I fly ops in a gang i usually will fly a ship that is made too "bubble" an area where a ship can't warp out inside this bubble. If you like PvP you should definately try EvE. Obviously not everyone likes this type of FFA pvp where you lose everything if you lose the fight, luckily alot do. For the most part I pvp daily, yes I am close too an NPC null sec region. When I run out of Isk(cash) I will go do something too make more. Luckily when I do win I get the modules of the ship I blew up so this helps. Try it out yourself and ignore the folks smacking each other and the game.

Good write up and nice too see all the people interested. Hope you all enjoy the game enough too stay for awhile. As has been mentioned all the possibilities that there are. The Eve-online forums are very helpful and can help you in the right direction. Also Eve University is a boon too all.

Just as a for instance my Eve character smuggles Booster's(Illegal Drugs in Eve), and does the odd Mercenary job with a friends corp when they have a juicy contract.
