As far as customer service and staying true to orginal, direct and vison of a game. Blizzard is far worse than EA.

Free does = pretty bad.

Reason is simple if its pretty good people will pay in advance. (Aka. Wow, lotro, cox, doac, eq , etc).

Otehr reasons would be like small world or less deep game play that is fun and good, but rather shallow in the long run. Which doesn't make the game not fun , just not worth $15 a month.

The problem with pvp is not everyone likes pvp or some people want different things.

Lets put it this way if you did not like daoc pvp you'll not like any pvp.

Without a doubt, mythic Ea will lose players due to this.

I will also pick up aoc now.  (Aoc will sell close to double the number of copies due to this also.)

Hopfully , aoc will be worth a few months of play. If not daoc and wow are my frineds (CS too)

Take a look at this ,

For all the people who even dared to say WAr's animations/ graphix suxs.

Really its small and a cell phone vid but the quality of the animation (that u can see all over but noobs seem to ignore it) is very clear.

Watch her walk , that full hip and torso animation btw.

Massively, superior to all other MMorpgs out atm or due for release.

Ok, im gonna call these "epic" battles.  I want that and Im afraid AoC will be the "dont add to my fight" crap again.  However, on the other hand I am hoping those who like that sort of thing will be playing on a FFAPVP server and leave the epic stuff (if there really is any in AoC) to the PvE servers.

hehe ancient wars were a zergfest :P

Tactics, at least how we commonly understand them now, are a relatively modern concept :)

Yeah the romans  didn't have tactics? The battle at the hot gates for the greeks was just a zerg ...

Maybe for small villiages and lower civilized areas , but the ancient world was built on tactics.

Egyptian chariots , wtf do we need these for just zerg them....

If mjb said there will be official forums for release you lot would be all over how wonderful it is and will be etc etc.

Crazy...

Mythic Cut off the line of Public discussion directly to them on their own website. They dont want it, they washed their hands and passed you over.

>>>>>please go this way for customer service - WE ARE INCAPABLE OF DEALING WITH YOU.

How do you feel?

USED? yea me too.

"Give me your money" then go over there for 50% questions to ask and then go to the herald for the other 50%.

Part timers giving no Part Time Casual Support

What about the TEN of Thousands of Casual players who dont frequent the Fan Sites..

You mean like in WoW when tens of thousans of people could not connect to the servers and they had offical forums. I just keep posting the same stuff over and over because you fail to read it.

REally can we get a lock on this thread for no new info being said and a few people not reading anything and then posting the same stuff over.

Once agian there is support , but its there is not open communal forums.

PS when there a problem with wow guess whats happens. a mod post after about a week and then says we will address this sometime .. maybe..

Do you feel used when that happens?

If that was addressed to me, I was being sarcastic because of course they would notice if 10k paying customers weren't able to connect for 3 months.

THey knew were well that ALOT more than 10k polayers were not able to play on peak hours.

They could play fine after midnight to about 5 PM.  BUt you know what ?  Players DON'T buy a computer game and pay for subs for playing certain hours.   And it was ok for alot of players that were playing casual Solo gaming cause the low bandwith that Telia provided did not affect them as much.

Blizzard simply said  "Its not our fault. Talk to your ISPs"

Our ISPs said "its not our fault - Talk to your gaming service.

And oh ... TELIA has NO direct connection point .  NO official forms.  NO official forums.  They did not say ONE word for 3 months.  And there was NO way to send them emails.

Why would I think WAR - Europe will be any diffrent ?   I don't .

I ratehr agree with this i know Mythic will be subbing out europe servers to GOA, which, frankly are an awful compnay (no warring here mod.s they are not a a developer just a  serving site). I for one would get your self a US copy and stay as far away from GOA as possible,

Why would I think WAR - Europe will be any diffrent ?   I don't .

Mayeb becuase they HAVE FORUMS for tech issues, and e-mail and live tech support? , maybe? I don't know just maybe thats why?

i've played eq2 for 3 years in a server dominating raidguild and have followed both boards over these years, eq2flames only since it actually started, so unless you can tell me you have played in any kind of more min-maxing fashion than high end raiding over that time, just accept that you can't win this argument over eq2 boards.

If you are incapable of grasping the concept of categorized information, that is a shame... but with as many guides as are available on that forum, it would be a little chaotic to just shove them all in a "Guides" folder.  You want a general gameplay guide, check the gameplay section.  Need a class guide, check the top of the forum dedicated to your class. Who wants to venture a guess on where to find Tradeskill guides??  Oh.. there they are, stickied to the top of the tradeskill forum.  If you need to find something really obscure, or just have no idea what category your query fall under, there is a handy dandy search function... even a blank at the top of every page to search that topic or forum. Damn handy feature, IMO.

As to your second paragraph... I'm not sure what the size of your e-peen has to do with the topic of the worthiness of official forums, but just  FYI.  If you think that little monologue about your server dominating high end  min-maxing raidguild make you look cool, or somehow more credible than anyone else... it doesn't.  It kinda makes you look like a dick.... ;)

Ohh that guys said you can find class guide on the classboards. HE said that , you must have not read it.

However, he did attack the guild forums.

Well one of us musrt not have read it... He said there is no guides forum. :P

You mean where you went back and grabbed the really old post? ? Lets take and honest look.

awww thanks, so sweet of you.

The EQ2 forums are active, searchable and packed with information.

they are active, which doesn't imply anything good, they are searchable, which is a necessity of any forum.
there actually are guides to every class in the classboards, and then there are the other 99.99% of the threads.

i am not going to talk about the sense of class guides...

Anyone who wants to can go over there and look.  The assertion that anyone who's anyone posts on eq2flames is absurd.  As I understand it, they aren't even an officially supported fansite any more.  It's just a place to bash the game these days.

on the one side it is a place to bash, on the other side it's the one place where people actually have a clue and not every discussion over game mechanics pops up twice a week and people have to teach another crazy person how math works.

Official forums are generally packed with gameplay guides of all types, server and class specific discussions, answerers to everyday questions people might have.  I don't think a lot of people actually believe their posts on official forums lead to gameplay changes, but they are still always the best place to find people to have those discussions with.. and certainly the most likely place for a dev to read your ideas.

fansites are generally packed with gameplay guides of all types, server and class specific discussions, answers to everyday questions people might have. devs are just as likely to take gameplay ideas from there as they are to take them from beta forums.

PS Ascension08, no it just occured to me when you said it

, i realize you were qouting earlier peoples.

But that they themselves were not realizing that they were sayign we need Official forusm for tech issues , and then pointing out that with Official forums it took them three months to listen.

oh they would notice....as long as nobody complained in the official forums they wouldn't fix it!

You realize that they have tech support right? (faq, sumbit issue and LIVE chat) you don't think 10k people bashing tech support would draw their attention. Right no offense but you don't seem to even think about this logically. all your arguements are they will not notice. Well if 10k people more started bashing your tech support all with the same issue you would notice.

Ill say it again , so far the official forums of wow are the worse place to get help. google does a much better job, as if the problem is fixable by the player, IT IS THE PLAYERS who are finding a fix for the problem and then later Mod.s who pass it along.  If you can personally fix the problem then , it DOESN'T REALLY MATTER ANYWAY. As the best you can do is wait for DEV.s to fix the issue.

"And yes - it took 3 MONTHS to get it fixed. "

This is the best ever so you had offical forums but wait , what good did they do you? 3 months is not well at least it got fixed , due to official forums 3 months is the Mod.s and DEv.s didn't LISTEN TO US DESPITE OFFICIAL FORUMS. Denining this would be out right crazy as Mods. Dev.s and tech guys just ignored 10k people for 3 months. Of course 10k people in that time could post a post everday and the other 5 million players copuld make those post vanish into thin air, 10k really not that many.

However, if 10k people hit their techlines, chat rooms , and submitted issues, with them every day it would be VERY hard to ignore due to the fact that it would acctually TAX their tech support system , which was not made to handle 100k requests a day liek official forums are.

The simple logistics of it Proves that tech people will notice such issues at a higher rate with the live and active tech support system over a FFA official forum system.

The entire tech support issue is FAR IN FAVOR OF MYTHIC SYSTEM AND NOT WOWS.

However, arguing just on the basis of one community to talk as gameheads well i'll leave you to decided what system is better. But its clear .

Active tech support>>>> than Official forums for Tech issues. its a given yet there are people here who are areguing the opposed  and that my friend is odd.

Been playing MMO all the way back to M69 . Never needed official forums , i hear you talking about what people are use to or expect. But if Mythic wanted to give people the same experience as WoW then they just not make their game and let you play WoW.

No forums is also part of the community building aspect where people will hang-out in certain forums etc. and ther not be 100 bill unknow people posting also, while im sure there will be forums liek that too , but it encourages peopel to branch out. Also for techsupport , they still offer that. And its easyer to find and locat when there are not 1000000 other post on nothingness.

As for the real tech support its called google , it provides much better results than any official forum can.

Ok i got a warning for a post on this thread , one i was serious not trolling , yes i may have been agressive but i backed up my statement.

However thats not the story this is.

On WoW i can say anything i want, on other mmo forusm with 200k+ member s i can pretty much say whatever i want.

Why?

Simple, too many post for the number of people they have moding them.

On the OFFICIAL WoW forums i can harass a Emo child to suicide before a mod check it out.

However, on this forum i post a post sing that i have defeated the OP (using one word) and that he is looking at this from a genetically dirived cognitive process in which a person looks at their surroundings from there location and ideas.

And what happened? I got a warning and my post was deleted.... Ok , that would never happen for what i did on any Offical forum unles sit only has like <50k playing.

So what awful thing did i type ill show you minus soem letters , and the reason why im taking this chance is becuase i think it makes the point very well.

The following is my orginal post minus some letters so that it does not troll anyone,

"

OP did you need offical forums to figure this out?

OH you just got *****.

See how that worked, no official forums and you still got the info.

~********** viewpoint.~"

PS. none of the words were cuss words.

So lets compare this. I took like 30 sec to head over to  wow forums drop an search and here we go.

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=3466268307&postId=34658663640&sid=1#4

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=3547794889&postId=35471870546&sid=1#24

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=2041162394&postId=21999223464&sid=1#32

Ok those are just 3, but all of them pretty much have no point , minus one which is totaly high-jacked into talking about stealing someones mom.

So anyway , how are those superior to a site were if you have an issue or problem you can post ask for help and avoid the spam?

I don't know this is the OP's job i don't see it. PS if you want a forum to GO wild in you can find them .

I can easily see realms quickly becoming out of balance and RvR falling apart. Does anyone know if there are going to be safeguards in place to prevent these issues from occurring? If not, I doubt I'll even bother playing WAR.

Ok your wrong in one major way.

In wow for honor points you do really stupid stuff like BG , in WAr you can BG , or open world , or just kill people (can you do this in wow sure but its like 1/9th of the points you get) where WAr its like 3/4 or more of the points you get.    IE its not bad to have a lot of targets to kill, thats more points for you.

Yeah this is amazing , once again these are not post or anything by mythic, but 3rd parties. And honestly both show how amazing this game could be. In Wow if you do that jank they just ban you or block it off. In WAR your rewarded, wonderful idea.

Also, this game is sounded better everyday.

PS your gonna see other mmos start copying some of these idea real quick.

GREAT article, really. It shows why WAR is gonna be a big hit. I do not like the new mastry idea, sounds like too many people were thinking , yeah but their noobs and need help... OK give them simple choices ... Still i bet it will still be very good.

I love the idea of real time quests , ie you fight with the guards or past the guards for a reason just just because the quest said kill/save 2 guards.

Mike how do i know... simple i play in guilds. You know those things right? Well the guilds i play in are organizaed and have web pages.  And they post their pic sooner or later ... why i'll never know.

Edit they did this back in like 1995ish playing a mud (text based game) even so ...  yeah if text based game players 10 years ago posted their pics. You can bet they do that at increasing rates today (as they do).

On a funny note,

Ok what we are going to look at is a few stereotypes in MMO gaming. To highlight these i am going to quote a post and then a reply to it found here on MMORPG.com
